  • I want to work at Universal Studious... Like the actually studious, not the park.

  • The day before it burnt down I was there

  • wow did not know a fire happend havent been down there for about 7 years was hopeing to show king kong to a friend with in a years time but gess that not going to happen

  • You are so full of shit. Do you flip burgers?

  • Why does the clock tower have a flat roof and no clock??

  • They rebuilt almost everything but I say ehh I'm gonna miss the original courthouse square it's like a landmark burning down but the remake of it isworse it doesn't feel the same... It's like the statue of liberty burning Down and being rebuilt then no one would really care...

  • They could very well rebuild all of it. They DO have references for the buildings... I mean, there were only A THOUSAND MOVIES FILMED THERE! And as for the King Kong ride, they probably used blueprints that are still in existence. Sure it wouldn't be the same original one everyone remembers, but you'll still get the feel of behind-the-scenes Hollywood... besides, this is what makes the back lot tour a back lot tour! This is my personal opinion.

  • God did that because he was also pissed at the BacktoTheFuter THE RIDE demolished

  • Very sad about Hill Valley :(

...but I like your accent :P

  • @Rachael8989 The clocktower survived the fire

  • so how about the Bart Station at stadge 50, and the rotten trust bridge whare they drive the tram on and the bridge collaps.

  • aaaahmmm ahhhmmmmm aaaaaahmmmmm aaaaaahhh aaaaaahm...

  • do they even enforce those stop signs

  • Is this legal??

  • maybe he is an employe

  • when will they put it back!!!!???(will they?)

  • this is very informative.

    but

i agree with the comment that driving around holding a camera and not focussing on the road is a foolish decision

i don't live near you so it doesn't matter that much to me but remember accidents happen in a split second

  • Was the house from psycho distroyed?

  • no,, it was very close though

  • like you are any more perfect than her with THAT comment

  • Poor Vid!

You're just re-running your old stuff, which granted looked fairly good. The new footage is shaky and shows little fire damage, loads of sky and mainly consists of you blabbering on needlessly.

The last bit with you showing us the tourists getting a better view than you; a man who actually works there, just topped it off.

Also... Is it wise to be driving around a theme park clutching a camera... I'm fairly sure you should be looking where your going.

  • i agree he was driving and using the camera

then wonder why he got into a collision

  • So they had King Kong broke?

No wonder there wasn't one when i went lol. Bout 4 days i went, im welsh

  • yea, along with the back lot, the "King Kong" ride was also lost in the fire.

  • I use to go there all the time. This is depressing. It's like the end of an era.

  • How did the fire start?

  • From what I understand, they were using some blow torches to heat up somethings in the early morning hours, and because of the dryness of the wood around them, everything just lit up. Again, these "buildings" were just four wooden walls with nothing inside them.

  • Thanks for replying... I really wanted to know how it happened and now I do. Thanks

  • god damn it. i have people coming from europe and wanted to see them. :(

  • yea, all the debris is cleared out now and they are just starting to get ready to rebuild. If your on the tour they just do what that tram did, drive by and show you an empty area, and say "Hey folks, stuff burned down"

  • yeah...are they rebuiliding it as it was or is something else being put there?

  • Not sure yet. They have torn up all the cement sidewalks and pavement. So it seems something else is going on then just a standard rebuild, but I'm not sure at this point.

  • ok thanks for the update man...keep me posted...i will miss the king kong

  • Wow How Sad =[

  • yea, but it's not that bad. In time, it will be back to what it was. They are still clearing out all the rubble right now. But after that is done it should not take long to get it built again.

  • oh cool too bad the bridge decomisiond

  • are they going to rebuilt bttf background?

  • Oh yea, more then likely they will build the same buildings in the back to the future square; however, I'm not sure about king kong. The building that was in was still standing, but they recently tore it down. Not sure if they are going to rebuild from scratch or just do something else. My money is bet on the fact that they will put something new there.

  • oh like identical from the movies or not?

  • No, I think they will just put up some random buildings. Like the outside of an apartment building, or movie theater, or church. But that's what was there in the first place. So just rebuild what was already there.

  • oh ok thks for for the update

  • who are you I work at the simpsons ride

  • I work down in the studio. In the building right across from the former New York Street, and the breakaway bridge

  • Cool man great video!

  • Thanks :)

  • Thank you, very interesting video! do you know what happened to the Psycho house? some news write it got destroyed too... I really hope it's not...

  • Nope, the psycho house is nowhere near that area, so that is intact.

  • cool, what do you do at universal studios?

  • Too much to explain with the limited about of space I have, but you know how you watch shows and you hear the laughter in the background from an audience that's watching the show live. That's what I do, I'm part of the process that gets that all set up. SHAMEFUL PLUG ALERT!!! I'll put our website up on the information side (right side) of the video if you want to check it out for yourself.

  • O that is soo cool!! i must have missed the other one of u tellin us u worked ther. freakin cool!! I seen all about that on our local news, here in ontario! lol m soo glad it wasnt any worse than it was!! so aweful to hear about things like that happening!

  • yea, it is bad; however, like I said all of that will be built back up in one or two months time (and again I'm being generous), plus only a few firefighters had very minor injuries. I think it was a very good thing that it happened over the weekend when the lot is somewhat empty. During work hours might have been another situation.

  • oh god eh,, i guess it was good than or it might have been waaaaay worse!!!

  • Thank you, we're planning on going next weekend, but the conflicting reports about the clocktower have been driving us nuts.

  • Yea, it was driving me nuts too when they kept saying it was destroyed, but yet I could see it from the helicopter shots they were showing. So I wanted to set the record straight.

  • Hey man, thanks for the interesting video!

Question; how are the parking spaces assigned? The longer you work there the closer to the lot to get to park?

  • Yea, I just wanted to get the record straight since they were saying the clock tower from Back to the Future was destroyed. Plus they also said the Cyclone ride was also destroyed, which had me laughing, as I did not know the fire reached all the way over to Six Flags Magic Mountain.

As far as parking, there's nothing special about it, they just put you next to the building you work at, and my building is right smack in the middle of the studio.

  • Cyclone is a ride that is or was at Universal Studios Florida as Psyclone at SFMM was demolished

  • yea, that's what I thought. I figured they must have gotten Universal Florida, and Universal California mixed up.

  • yeah you know how the news can be lol

  • Ahh, so you work at Colifornia? Too bad. I am going on vacation to Florida, was gonna ask you for a tour! ;))

  • So how long do you think until it gets rebuilt? Will be coming from Australia in February '09 and would love to see it how it's meant to be haha.

  • Well once they clear out all the rubble, I would say four to six weeks, and I'm being generous. All these were are just four walls with some three by four studs to hold them up. Which is why they burned so quickly. If they are not back up by February of next year I will be amazed.
