@WX5G Im glad Pontiac name is not being used, all it was used for is Rebaged Chevy and Holden Imports, real Pontiac are made by PMD, everything else is Chevy with Pontiac and Holden skins. I don't like Fake or Import no matter how fast it is!

Exactly right my friend, there were no six banger GTOs. LS1 and LS2 versions only. The new version of the GTO was a big experiment. The Monaro body style was the only futuristic body style to come close to the 71 Judge. Detroit could tool fast enough so Bob Lutz went with the Aussie's body style. Old schoolers did like it but said as far as performance for a "stock production muscle car" that it was quicker from 0 to 60 than the 64-71 Detroit version of the GTO. The "if" variables

Just an FYI, there was never a 6 cylinder GTO offered. 04's were stock with a 5.7L LS1 and the 05-06 came with the 6.0L LS2. I think you are confusing the 6.0L with 6 cylinder
