@Bumbumawangis I love how these post-punk bands sounded live. It was the same with Joy Division. On record they have a lot of production going on, but live they are surprisingly raw. It's a nice surprise though.
@thecrikster according to Martin Hannett, Joy Division had no clue what they were doing in the studio and without him they wouldn't have that "open" or "spacey" post punk sound.

This video is a classic in and of itself because it shows Wire doing Second Language. Where else could you see this? Notice how Lewis messes up the bass on the first part of the song. This is not a complaint but an observation of who Wire was.
Of course they're professional and "good at live." My comment wasn't meant as a dig at them. It simply gives us an insight into the "real" members of WIRE; they are real people like us. Sorta like when you hear little things on Beatle songs. They were a perfect band as well but they made mistakes like everyone else. It's just fun and not meant to take anything away from the band. Relax yourself. And thank you for commenting. Good to hear from you.
I downloaded the audio from itunes about a year ago, it has not left my ipod since.

This sounds desolate (even more so on the album).

Lewis may have messed, but I find WIRE generally very professionnal and good at live.

Thanx for your comment :-)
I understand what you mean.
It's just sad that people put you a "thumb down", believing that your comment is negative.
And hearing/seeing musicians messing makes me smile, when this is so little (like here).
Regards.
