okay, somewhere on here youll find this song by a group called Smokestack Lightning......they are THE forgotten group of the L.A. Strip scene of the late 60's......at the time they were right up there with the Doors, Byrds, Buffalo Springfield and Love........next to Etta James, its the definitive version
Bonjour, vous aimez les sixties ? écoutez et podcastez mon émission "le super son des 60's" sur le site de plumfm. You like the 60's ? please, listen and podcast my broadcast "le super son des 60's", connect to "plumfm". Salut et faites gaffe au rock and roll.
The three female back-up singers are Darlene Love (in the center w/ blonde hair) and the Blossoms. This clip must be from SHINDIG. Don't know who the guys are. Darlene & the Blossoms were the house singers and often sang back-up for the featured artist. Has anyone seen their version of TOO MANY FISH IN THE SEA from SHINDIG? Incredible!
Jackie sounding soulful & one of the greatest in the past fifty years and thankfully most of her classic work is finally available on CD...Bravo Jackie!
Whiggers are not new...they began in the sixties.Historians claim that the blow job was introduced into the USA around the same era.Coincidence? Or not?
@floppybollox3 Well, it's like Pat Boone covering a Little Richard tune. Compared to the original by Etta James, this is tepid. For the record I have no problem with almost all of Presley's covers, such as Lawdy Miss Clawdy, Good Rockin' Tonight, and Hound Dog. He "acquitted himself admirably" in those cases. Here, though, I'm just not feelin' it. But then the show is hokey, and even Elvis looked hokey on TV.
