My gaming rid is capable of using 64bit but I had to install windows 7 Ultimate 32bit because it was lying around my room in a new box. So I installed that for now. But I'm only going to be using 2GB ddr2 Dual Channel memory for now. Anyways people may say 32bit os can only address 3.50GB of ram. Well they are wrong it can address 4GB. Some computers depending on your graphics card it will use some of that memory. Also on a 64bit. I had Toshiba laptop. 8GB ddr3 7.25 Usable.

@Jakeyog Pretty darn nice, this is where 8 CPU threads comes in handy. Renders H.264 AVCHD export from Avid Studio at about 33fps (1080p 17mbps)

3.41ghz amd phenom 2

8gb of ram (3.25 usable cause of 32bit)

an ati radeon hd 5700 series(1gb i think)

so would my pc/dvd drive affect gaming if it wasnt that good?

1. 32bit doesnt allow full usage of ram, therefor can potentially slow everything down, 64bit is the way to go

2. If your setup is x64 capable, then you just install a 64bit operating system

3. yes your pc are perfectly fine

Your dvd drive isnt really an issue, once the game is installed, steam wise etc, it plays directly off hdd anyway.

@Playstation3Gamer10 dude, ATI HD 4670 is the best mid range gpu ever made, yes its not capable of Nvidia's PhysX but its a Card that can Run most of the games up to crysis 2. who needs physX anyway... you can't even notice those debris in the middle of action....

@bogellenong The original Antec 900 case was designed this way. The intent is to use the PSU fan as additional case airflow. (This is also how most OEM cases are still cooled). I'm not concerned about overheating my PSU, because with my H50 on my CPU & rear vented Nvidia 285, the only heat sources inside my case are my Hard drives and my Chipset.

@WoWkiddymage Its a dual core with Hyper threading at 3ghz, its actually better than you think, most games are really limited by the GPU, yes if you got a 570 the CPU would start to hold you back.

@metrella69 It's called Intel Speed Step, Clock frequency is dynamic depending on load. I do this to save Power, and to keep temps down when my CPU is at idle.

a graphics card from 1997 over clocked so i can play Doom (have to play on lowest settings)

a 250 watt power supply

I have two channels populated with 2X2gb, and the third channel with 1X2gb.

I have two sets of 3X 2gb, but I want to use it all, but most I can use stable is 10gb.

I'm guessing your suggesting to only use 8gb total.

im waiting for cheaper components to built a new pc with a sandy bridge cpu, SATA 6 HDD's and lots of ram to decrease the render time of my movies and effects ;) i also need more storage xD

@KillmanAUSTRIA If you can wait, don't forget that AMD Bulldozer will be coming out sometime this year, although that will be initially aimed at the high end market. So Sandy Bridge may be your best bet.
