Sang this song in fourth grade...back then it made me proud to show faith and pride in my country. Now it has a whole different meaning for me. I'm not sure I'm still proud of my country. But I do know that I'll always have my rights and my freedoms, fought for and won generations and generations before I was born. And I thank the people who gave their lives for this, every time I wake up to start a new day. Without them, where would we be now?
Recently American Chinese Soldier "Danny Chen" was reported to be tortured to death by his own american soldier colleague. Was this the spirit of american spirit who could not accept soldier of other race though Danny Chen was born in USA. The case was under investigation and will be on court trial. Was this so called democratic and free spirit of USA. So hyprocrite. How come americans keep complaining Chinese human right, but they dont respect human right of their own people of other race.
