@FRSFreeStateNow Well I don't know if we'd have won it all every time if we'd beaten them. However, in 1987, '88, '90, '91 and '92 Miami either gave us our first or only lost. Also keep in mind that these years were during our big run, where we never lost more than two games in a year. My guess is we'd have more than 2 National Championships. I hate those Canes...

Just like with Nebraska in the '83 title game, FSU got stupid. It's my fault for watching this video, but damn it makes me mad to know we should have more titles. And the Gators can talk about their mulligan title in '96..and having more championships, but they FSU at least didn't take Miami off the schedule when they were the Miami.

While Vinny Testaverde had a brilliant NFL career, Danny McManus was a legend in the CFL, guiding the Hamilton Tiger-Cats to the 1999 Grey Cup. Last month Danny was inducted into the CFL Hall of Fame. Danny McManus was one of Bobby Bowden's best QB's, and now he's in the CFL Hall of Fame.

Actually Derek Schmidt holds more records than Janakoski, and his nickname was "mister automatic"... everyone has a bad game but he won more games for bobby than janakoski. His kicking game was good through 84-87.

@soulfultenor Correct. The university was finally given a bunch of money in 1991 (thanks to then-Florida House Speaker T.K. Wetherell) and the stadium renovation began in 1992. The "erector set" finally got an exterior!

If you listen to 3:37 YOU HEAR Brent talk about Florida's State's horrible field goal team. Kind of sad other than Janakoski, this has always been Bowden's weakness is the kicking game.  We all know about the 3 wide right's and one wide left.

cad, as a Canes fan, long time, the greatest game for me for obvious reasons was the 84 orange bowl. But right behind it was this game. Unbelievable game, two unbelievable teams. College football at it's very best!
