what about The Lunar Strain and Subterranean?? the very first shit they did i think is their best but all of their music is good in my eyes! Anders is brutal as hell! i support In Flames all the way \m/
In Flames and Slipknot are different music. Both are awesome. But swedish metal is the best shit you will ever hear. In Flames, Opeth, Meshuggah and Soilwork are music you can swing your head to and enjoy:), Iam from Norway. Metal on Metal heads!!!
@bobokk your kidding right.....In Flames has been around a long time they didnt jump on no "bandwagon" and they certainly didnt jump on fucking slipknots band wagon you homo. All the In Flames fans in here give a thumbs up!
@bobokk In Flames may have sold out and jumped on the bandwagon with Slipknot, but In Flames was making far superior music to Slipknot before Slipknot even formed
@bobokk Yeah I'm not saying that In Flames wasn't influenced at all but Slipknot, I'm just saying that In Flames was making badass music long before Slipknot even existed. Something to keep in mind
@SilentPhantom007 Actually noise is a type of music, which is badass itself, Slipknot is also badass, they were good until they started adding guitar solos the solo period is when they got generic (When I say solos I mean Vol 3 and the new album)
@Zando24 i had the idea that In Flames sold out for a long time, but now i see that not many bands were doing this kind of style back in 2002. i think this album really influenced the "screams for verses, cleans for choruses" trend. also, no bands of this style were using synths at that time. so if anything, they were taking a gamble and making a unique record, unsure of what people would think of it. theyve never been a "safe" band, and they never write the same record twice.
@DarkLight173 agree if anyones trying to sound like another its slipknot trying to sound like In Flames also they arent in the same category even with this album and In Flames is just way cooler, better sounding and been around longer, slipknot is an american wanna be band swedish/scan metal is where its at right now in the world
This is the album that made me realise that metal had to be heard live and that I shouldn't settle for just the cd....needless to say it took me about 8 years to get my act together, and it was so worth the wait!
What are they doing to get so low on this song? Is it an octave pedal, or a 7/8 string? When they play this shit live it's up way higher in one of their other main tunings. Just curious cause it sounds wicked, but I can't seem to find a tab for this song on any of my usual sites. Great song, but I know it ain't in C standard or drop A#
@monox2k actually, im pretty sure it is drop A#, but the use of an octave pedal would make sense, cause it does sound alot lower than that. also, the tone of the guitars might make a slight difference in the way it sounds too, i know it does for my guitar. i dunno about a 7 string, but it is possible, cause this song is fuckin low. also, the bass is really low, so you couple with that with a down tuned guitar, you get some low riffs on the go
@DonutFUN right on man! thanks, i never knew there was a tuning lower than A, thanks alot. i plan to try this out tomorrow, provided my strings can handle it, ive had my dean in A before, but never any lower, this should be interesting to experiment with.
In Flames is the first MDM Band where i like the Refrains more than the parts between. actually i'm not a great solo fan it got to be a very hardly to play sick solo to kick me from my chair :D
Reroute To Remain is actually the first In Flames album i ever heard....but my favorites are now Whoracle,Colony and Clayman and ofcourse The Jester Race...but honestly all of their albums are Great..
@imnotaverage Honestly alot of people make alot of fuss about In Flames supposedly selling out , in truth i like every single little bit of masterpiece created by In Flames , from Lunar Strain to ASOP i just love everything.
what about The Lunar Strain and Subterranean?? the very first shit they did i think is their best but all of their music is good in my eyes! Anders is brutal as hell! i support In Flames all the way \m/

19wayfarer19 1 year ago
@19wayfarer19
Depending, if you do drop g there is the higher than standard, but then there is also a lower, an octave lower than the one one you thing
if you look I've posted a music theory video that explains
