First thing, safety roll? So you can start making big jumps? Hey, I'm doing parkour for 2 years now, i have never ever needed a roll.
It's not about those big fancy jumps, when you can't even do a good cat leap, reverse vault, or a precision jump. You shouldn't be throwing yourself off roofs when you don't know what it feels like to have done hardcore strength and technique drills over and over again. It's about agility, focus, technique and strength.
I don't mean to bash at all, just wanted to point out that you shouldn't land so much and THEN roll... It seems like the roll is useless. You should be roll almost the instant your feet touch the ground. That REALLY takes the pressure out of your legs on the landing.
Next, landing flat footed is better since it uses more of the big muscles to cushion the impact of the landing rather than the little fibers that can hurt your ankles and knees.
Last, the rolls seemed sloppy. Just some advice, sorry
"Next, landing flat footed is better since it uses more of the big muscles to cushion the impact of the landing" and effectively killing your heels and ankles by doing so.
@xGTLxSnIPeZ you seem pretty good if it's you in that vid on your page. I don't understand why you replied like this. Who hurts their heels and ankles by landing in a horse stance? Or am I reading wrong and you're actually agreeing and just continuing the advice?
Oh no, that's 3run in my page, look them up, they're beasts =)
I was just saying that if you land flat footed it can severely damage your heels and ankles (Off a reasonable height). It's best to land toes first, then flat foot then almost bounce into a roll (: I was just trying to give advice for anyone new who might be reading the comments, sorry for the misunderstanding! :D

So please, just start at the beginning.

@Herkio1 the 1st thing IS the roll man, you need the roll to protect your joints from impact. Even if you drop from 1.50 meters. It's still impact..

Arm bands are for baddies.
Wrist guards are for novice runners who need something to feel safer.

Very good so far, I quite like it. Gives a great, in depth view of the main pk/fr dynamics. I like it.
