This is the processional hymn for funerals in my family, including the verse that praises Brother Death. Saint Francis of Assisi really appreciated the mark of God's genius and love in the entire creation! Thank you for this beautiful slide show to go with it. I am posting it on a friend's wall on facebook whose beloved dog died this week. <3
@kentuckyliz : I used it as the processional for my father's funeral with the verse about death although I think the words used were "oh thou most kind and gentel Death....thou leadest home the child of God where the Master the way hast trod." Yes, I think it's a great celebration of the life of the deceased- so I think it's a great way to honor a loved one!
I used this hymn as the entrance hymn at my father's funeral. There is a beautiful verse (usually verse 5 or 6) that says "you lead back home the child of God where the Master the way has trod..." You don't hear that verse in recordings very often but I am posting this information because if you love this hymn it is perfect for a funeral and I was praising God for my father's life...not mourning his death.
This is one of my favorite hymns! Thank you for posting this! I recently posted my own arrangement of this! It is great to give glory to God through song!
Another note, the Gospel will be preached to all corners of the globe and then the end will come. Matthew 24:14 Every one (that can make decisions on their own ie not a young child) is without excuse. Romans 1:20 If we reject Jesus Christ, we condemn ourselves. Just saying you believe and doing what you want is not enough. Faith without works is dead. James 2:20 All you need to know is written in the Holy Bible. I suggest you have a nice complete cover to cover read.
Wonderful performance! Many thanks for posting this.
A thought...if God means to save only those who believe...and He KNOWS billions will never hear of His son while alive, how can we reconcile this with a loving God who is all knowing?
I was raised in an ecumenical atmosphere. I doubt if God has blinders on. The Holy Bible, if memory serves me correctly, says Christ died for ALL. If not, what was the use of the Passion?
@dynomax101 Yes, Jesus died for all but we have to accept His FREE gift of salvation. When we repent we can't just say we are sorry and then go back and do the things Jesus said don't do. God said if we love Him, we'll keep His commandments. John 14:15
For those that continue to attempt to destroy, bash and tear down the Catholic Church. Thank you. You are proving that Satan is alive still through his divisive spirit, negativity, and hatred for THE ONE TRUE CHURCH (yep like it or not). Satan attacks the Church through you. You think you are saved and born again. He has you so deluded that I pray for you. Let the attacks continue, I promise they are only going to get worse. Praise God
The teachings of the catholic church mostly come from scriptures I dont know why peopler are so hell bent on trying to tear down the church these days and working against each other. Jesus even said who can stand thats divided amongst themselves? God will win because He already has it's only a matter of time to reveal His victory over sin, death and the grave.
great music and great photos. i shall make some theologic points. the Christian Church had to exist ever since the Apostolic era. thus no evangelic or protestant sect hath been around long enough for to qualify as the true Christian Church. also, the Apostles ordained more pastors, who ordained more pastors, who ordained more pastors, and so on down to today. even if the Catholic Church be not the true Christian Church, it chngeth not the fact that no protestant or evangelic sect qualifieth.
before switching to Catholic, i was an evangelical baptist. i broke from them when i found that baptists and evangelicals and protestants couldn't have existed ever since the apostolic era, also, i used to regard the Bible as the source for Christian theology, yet i now see that the Bible couldn't be the source for Christian theology. Christianity existed before the Bible got written. the Bible is interesting, yet it's not needed.
CG, be careful that you don't minimize the importance of Scripture. We Catholics believe that it is the word of God, is inspired, and inerrant, but we believed this because it comes from the Church. The Bible was produced by the Church; the Bible did not produce the Church. Unfortunately, many Protestants say that the Bible is the pillar and ground of truth, not the Church! Yet the New Testament says that the Church is the pillar and ground of truth (1 Tim 3:15).
False. The Catholic church wouldn't have existed were it not for Christ. Christ established his church, the true church, regardless of whether it's the "Catholic" church or not.
Death from the sky, you won't survive. Darkening clouds will fill the skies. Vaporizing all your prayers, burning them away. A funeral held for the lies of christanity. All humanity will soon learn, That jesus christ shall never return. Final day of christianity. Leviathan rises from the raging sea. Seize the power and glory, Lucifer is calling. I am Satan, master of the Earth. Condemn your souls for all they're worth. Bow down and worship me, 'Cause I'm your savior for all eternity.
You are physically animated, yet mentally dead. I see you awake but you are not really there. You walk around in a hollow shell. Living a life of mental stagnation. Seeking the comfort of reassuring lies. Your shallow mind, in a church of fools. Living a life of willing ignorance. Never thinking, forever dim. Nothing's more pathetic than a brainless drone. Vicious cycles of lies to cover lies. Just another robot in factory of falsehoods. A hollow puppet controlled by strings.

Demon hunters shoot down angels in the sky. In the city of god, they are dying. Mortar shells shatter the walls of holiness. The masses are terrified and screaming. Their hope is lost as god's gold turns to rust. Innocents looking to end their pain. Their pitiful lives come to an end. Satan's wisdom brings us to life. Leaving pain for the cowards to endure. The masses of futility are forgotten. We are the champions and they were defeated. We are as one with the demon's darkness.
The last man's life settles into the grave. Our world is now left in ruins. Extinction exists across the Earth. Eulogy imprinted on their hearts. Humanity now forgotten in the void. Do you know the cause of the universe's failure? The cowardly white light of god is to blame. The church weakness and suffocates the will. Man-made plague to poison the race. Fools live to be led by fools. Holy arrogance builds on their mountain ignorance. This world of misery and you are to blame.

Sects? Denominations... doesn't matter, if you read the Bible you'd know what the christian church is, and wouldn't be arguing such pointless points.
