  • It is very beautiful. But 1600 images are little too much for me. I am wondering if I can use GND filter to replace HDR bracketing?

  • Sure. You could use a GND filter. It wouldn't be HDR then. It'd be a regular timelapse vid. Nothing at all wrong with that.

The other problem with a GND is that the light level changes over time so you'd have to stop recording and change or remove the filter at certain points as it got darker (or lighter if you were doing a sunrise). That would create potential problems as well.

  • hey, nice vid ;) really interested in doin this, can i ask what fps your camera was shooting at?? 5*

  • I used an interval timer and the AEB function of the camera to capture a 3 shot bracket every 10 seconds. The bracket was at 2 stop spacing.

Shooting for about an hour and 20 minutes. Took all the bracketed shots and put them through HDR software. Then pulled the tonemapped HDR's into a video editing app. in sequence.

The vid is set to 24fps. 23 seconds of vid means about 550 tonemapped images or over 1600 bracketed images.
