Chris Cornell went through a lot of drugs and bad things, he is an amazing artist. Audioslave was AMAZING, Soundgarden was good, his solo albums were too! Now he tried something new and I think it is unique and very good I can't wait for what's next
I think he colaborated with Timbaland because of the line in Weezer's Pork and Beans: "Timbaland knows the way to reach the top of the chart, maybe if i work with him I can perfect the art"
I don't like timbaland producing it... Chris Cornell should be Chris Cornell, raw and beautifull at the same time, remembering you of the good and the bad, haunting you if something bad happens, cheering you up when something good happens, or both at the same time, Chris Cornells music can do so much with you. And timbaland ruined it with all his editing. Fuck timbaland
I really like this song - my Hip Hop teacher coreographed part of our recital routine to part of this song (the other half is to the Timbaland/Justin Timberlake song "Carry Out").
It's quite a mix of songs, to say the least!
The routine to this song is actually coreographed as a Lyrical/Hip Hop mix. It's a very dark song, but a really good song nonetheless.
The rest of this album kinda really sucks, but this song is pretty good. I admire Chris for tryin to step out of what he's used to and try something new. However...Audioslave is where his best music is <3
Even if you don't like the song itself listen to the lyrics and hear the message, you'll find the old Chris in there. I personally like this song, and the message it conveys. Awesome job Chris, keep making the good shit. :)
Stop trying to make long comments, make it short and sweet. Just say "go head and switch your style up and if they hate then let em hate and watch the money pile up xD
Music is music. If a person finds another genre that expresses their soul then I think they should dive into it. I first heard him through Timbaland and cuz of the huge contrast between his raspy voice and the beat I fell in love instantly. But you've all encouraged me to check out his rock stuff, too. I love it all. It's music and it speaks the language of the soul. it's magnificent, period.
What a shocker "you love "Timbo" but this is "wack." I'm totally shocked. I wont bring race into this... cus you very well could be white or Asian or Purple... But... I like hip hop, rock everything. You should expand your mind a little. Chris Cornell is one of the most respected Rock vocalists of all time. Timbaland loves him and had him redo some of his songs.
Well whatever you think about his change from rock to pop stuff ... you have to admit this song is great and nothing less... if you hear it once it will continue to ring in your ears for a loooong time ^_^
i don't know why he changed totally - his music was always special and the lyrics had a message. this is music to play in supermarkets or that can be used for commercials... the vioce doesn't fit to the beat and the beat doesn fit him :) naahh don't like it at all.
as much as i want to hate this, it is really catchy and a well produced song...i dont like how chris cornell is selling out and leaving rock behind to produce r&b...messed up shit
absolutely incredible. nothing specific about the song, like more the way everything fits together, the way it all flows. like his voice is just good, the lyrics, the rhythm then congas, but nothing really stands out. but all together, it just blows you away.
If anyone else released this, like an unknown artist with T'land people would be all over it like it was free money! Just because CC has done with rock and accomplished WAY more than most in that respect and he's workin with T'Land, people diss their work. Fucking sad. You don't like it? Fine. Do me a favour though......go away and get back to your china drum.
fuck that wankstain i agree with u dude this sucks balls chris sold out big time and its not even remotely good its even just a rip off of that other timpaland shithead one repulic song which is also gay as fuck.. soundgarden rule this sucks
this is why rockstars should overdose in their late twenties

This album is really good, but I think they released the wrong singles.
'Climbing Up The Walls' is a great tune, which may have more appeal than stuff like 'Long Gone'.
I like Scream though.
