  • Thank you for the video. I'm very proud of my cousin "piso alcala". I know his very good and prove it by winning the competition.

  • The Philippines, in general, isn't known for its cleanliness. Neither is the US.

But awareness is being raised around the more popular beaches in the country (La Union, Zambales, Siargao), and there are a lot of beaches that are clean but they're secluded and not very convenient to stay in. Try Baler, Pagudpud, or Samar for good surf, clean beaches, and decent accommodations.

  • try visayas like bohol, camiguin beaches not in luzon congested community.

  • BUT, the philippines is a great place. :) My mom is filipino. :))

  • you went to the wrong beach, lol!

  • my mom is too

  • try Boracay or Palawan or the secluded place of Amanpulo. well every nation has its own flaws and were not denying that fact, maybe next time you visit again try those places i've mention!

  • you are stupid enough to step into a dirty beach Philippines have thousands of beaches

NEXT TIME DO YOUR RESEARCH FIRST

  • PHILIPPINES HAVE THOUSANDS OF clean beaches - IT SAD that YOU ARE SUCH AN IGNORANT THAT YOU had to end up in a dirty beach - what a luck

NEXT TIME CHOOSE A CLEAN PHILIPPINE BEACH

  • your mom clearly brought you to an ordinary overcrowded beach just because it was the easiest to get to...

  • gettin rad aint easy but it sure is fun, now sombody hand me a lighter so i light this blunt up in this mothafucker

  • The Perfect Wave! Stokin, im half-filipino and so am stoked, everytime this tournament takes off!

  • juanice: Wrong. Rodulfo "Usot" Alcala won the internationals for the first time in 1998.

  • Usot won it 10 years ago? I stand corrected, then. I did hear that as well, but couldn't find any proof of it online. Unfortunately, Youtube doesn't allow editing of comments. Misspelled 'island' to boot.

Was he practically a grom when he won it back then? And were serious competitors joining it already? I mean, as evidenced by the vid, Piso went up against some pretty big names!

Man, of all the times to miss the Cloud 9 Open.

  • Ask Usot when you come here. Actually,I'm not sure if it was 1998, 1999, or 2000. Hehe. There were some big names already then, but of course the competition gets stiffer each year. Legendary win si Piso! Woot! Get yo ass over here!

  • great

  • This is epic. In the 13 years that Siargao Isalnd in Mindanao of the Philippine archipelago has been hosting this competition (Quiksilver was a sponsor for three years at one point), this is the first time a Filipino has won it. Congratulations again to Piso Alcala!!!

  • nice waves
