Roger Daltrey gave one of the best performances of the night. Nobody on this earth will ever be able to even come close to filling Freddie's shoes but Roger did an awesome job with this song.
i love Brian and Tony's seq-way of "Pinball Wizard" to the intro for "I Want It All". How awesome would it have been if the Who and Queen had exchanged frontmen for a day? I could totally imagine Freddy teaming up with Pete Townsend and the rest for a cover of "Pinball Wizard"!
Sometimes the tribute performers can leave something left to be desired, but Freddie's impact is seen here and translates to this night. The guests are putting everything into their performances — this is a Fab version and done well. Freddie must have been smiling down and proud. Show must go on!

@rjbr2000 He's getting old to be fair, can't react as quickly as he used to. Roger Daultry could of fit in for Queen rather well actually. He sings Queen songs closer to Freddie more than almost anyone.
The Who never progressed? From "The Who Sing My Generation" to "A Quick One" to "The Who Sell Out" to "Tommy" (the first real rock opera) to "Who's Next" to "Quadrophenia" the Who progressed musically, lyrically, visually, creatively and personally as much as any band including the Beatles, the Beach Boys, The Kinks and the Stones. And one of the most noticeable progressions was Roger Daltrey's voice. He worked his ass off to become one of the greatest singers in the history of rock.
I wonder if Roger's trick with the mic got him the role of Hugh Fiztcairn on Highlander TV series? I mean, it was like he could behead anyone in his sight lol
@ray3007 Seriously! I think the only thing people could come up with for mudslinging is Vampirella lol. I can't wait to see him with No Plan B. Getting my tickets as soon as I possibly can.
@DoubleUK No i meant the Very start, With Iommi and May not during Daltreys entrance, would a song with the name Heaven and Hell have such a clean intro?
Roger Daultry nailed this. One of the greatest rock singers of all time. Still think Quadrophenia is one of the FIVE best album releases in entirety of Earth's history in any music genre. Glad he spun the microphone as his trademark.
Freddie, Dio, Hendrix, Bon Scott, Gary Moore, Phil Lynott, Randy Rhoads, John Bonham, Kevin DuBrow, keith Moon, John Entwistle, Cozy Powell, George Harrison, John Lennon, Syd Barrett, Richard Wright, Brian Jones, Elvis, Eric Carr, Mark St. John, Jerry Garcia, and everyone else not mentioned are now in rock 'n' roll heaven. R.I.P. Gone but definatly not forgotten. Their legacy, music and rock in general lives on. \m/
@codysguitarlessons hahahahahah same man! Check out this band, SUPERLUNGS, who I saw playing a gig with Roger Daltrey! On Brighton Seafront! They are amazing!

@fmarsong i loved freddie mercury aswell but this is a tribute concert to freddie mercury so it would be more fitting to say you loved freddie mercury rather make it look like you are complaining about robert daltrey.
@DarkwingDuckful Cos he had to wear it short to film McVicar in 1979. Don't getme wrong, I do love the short hair, as he looks like a little boy. BUT THE LONG TERRIFIC SMELLING CURLS WILL ALWAYS HOLD A SPECIAL PLACE IN MY HEART!
great camera angle! Just imagine if you were one of the people performing on the stage that night and you looked out and saw that...would send goosebumps down my spine for sure!
It is a crying gods damn shame that it took the untimely death of one of the greatest musical artists of all time to bring together this vast array of talent.
