  • this is so powerful, thank you. it gives me shivers.

  • Sylvia la Torre is walang katulad ...nagiisa sya at dangal ng Pilipinas ...

  • Sylvia La Torre is timeless. so is this song!

  • She is one in a million, just like Luciano Pavarotti. Their voices are a gift from God. They can sing high and low notes and they make it appear so easy.

  • Beautiful song and singer. The video however does'nt fit the song. Anyway thanks for posting the song.

  • The song and singer is great but the video clip is weird!! it doesn't have anything that suggests dawn or madaling araw at all.

  • @mcargina

its a typical pinoy clasic movie of golden times..

the kids..waiting for the guava to fall..

  • sana mauso uli kundiman

  • can someone give the context of the video ? (i'm not being sarcastic here) thanks.

  • oh my, i'm gonna sing this song on voice exam..

    scary part 2:41

  • Great video clip!! Nice song, too!

  • awesome!!!!

It was like the finale song at three colors: Blue... Perfect!!!!

  • This rendition would have been perfect if not for her pronunciation of "madaling".

  • @monlamdrompa sweet voice. I love the interpretation! I agree with you with the word "madaling"..

  • Sylvia La Torre is the grandmother of one of the cast in Camp Rock- Ella. lol

  • and ashley dewitt in hannah montana...that's her role also

  • great singing of a great classic by a great performer i had always admired for forty(yes) years but you will have to excuse me for saying i am not sure what the background video was really about.

  • Stunning!! An old aunt told me the vid is loaded w/ old Fil myths. Ex: the reason why kids opened their mouths was 2 receive "energy" fr the rising sun. The other kid was doing battle w/ some invisible giants. Statues that come to life to teach wisdom, etc.

Perhaps some of u guys can share what their elders knew about our old myths?

  • thank you for telling us! For the longest time, I'm utterly clueless with the significance of these scenes! This short film is even more enjoyable.

  • Si Sylvia La Torre ay isang Filipino Artist na hindi nakakasawang pakinggan sa pag-awit at panoorin sa telebisyon at pelikula.

  • BRAVO!

  • loved her on the radio program "Tang-Tarang-Tang! Thanks for uploading.

  • just wait until someone uploads her version of "pakiusap" one day hopefully.

  • I have her Pakiusap....Sige, isang araw ilalagay ko

  • Ganda talaga ng kundiman. Proud to be Filipino. Sylvia is an institution in Philippine music.

  • Siyang tunay!

  • way to spell Filipino wrong

  • sucks

  • SUCKS!??? You obviously do not have the mental capacity to appreciate & comprehend classical art & talent. Even disagreeing 5 grade crtitics can come up with a better critique than the word "Sucks"!

  • the best talaga si ms sylvia latorre! perfect soprano voice quality!!! i hope more to see more videos of her.... Thanks 15users!

  • Did you know she is the grandmother of Anna Maria Perez de Tagle? They both look alike....

  • thanks for the awesome post!

  • Who composed this ***extremely*** beautiful song? The rendition by Ms. Sylvia La Torre is so emotionally eloquent - she is a Philippine treasure!!! Filipino singers these days are so cheap by comparison!!!

  • This is by Dr. Francisco Santiago, 1889-1947

  • This is simply fantastic and remarkable! So nostalgic. Thank you. Cocoy

  • Bravo, bravissimo!

  • Maraming salamat 15users. Paborito ito ng nanay ko. She used to sing it through the years. It brings back childhood memories. Maraming salamat. Sana madagdagan pa ang mga ganitong classics.

  • Please find us Mutya ng Pasig. Please Please somebody. From what I heard the person wrote this song for his sister. His sister died waiting for the man she loved.

  • Thank you for sharing this with us. Great song and great video. Bravo.

  • WOW! Thanks talaga.

  • Do you have more of this kind of old Filipino Classics?

  • Searching for a beautiful song, instead I found a beautiful voice!

  • The song is wonderful and so is the singer. Hurray to La la Torrewherever she is now.

  • Si Ibyang talaga! Isang insitusyon na. Nobody sings like Sylvia La Torre does.
