@DIJV79 speaking of wanting to get drunk...that sounds great...try Sierra Nevada Hefeweizen, you'll love it, pour 2/3 in a glass, swirl the bottle, then pour the rest, any idea what the fuck has happened to the world since the 70s??? :O)
@myfriendangel1 pretty neat, brought back a lot of memories for me too, I really miss it back then, I hate the way the world is now in 2011...kind of a real drag...
@28october19731 WE ALL HATE IT NOW MY FRIEND , AND WE ALL KNOW THE PROBLEMS -ITS GIRLS BEING NASTY ANY MORE ITS WELFARE ITS ALL THE RACES THINKING THEY ARE NOT THE PROBLEM WHEN THEY KNOW THEY ARE ITS HOLLYWOOD NOW TOO .AND ALL THESE STUPID LIBERALS . GOD BLESS MY FRIEND
@myfriendangel1 great to hear I'm not alone, I tell ya, I'm going fucking crazy these days, it's pretty fucking horrible out there now, now you have to literally live in your own world and totally keep to yourself, I see very, very little out there now worth the effort or the bother, I don't really long for anything in this world anymore other than to be left the fuck alone and have a nice dinner :O) everything you said I couldn't agree with more, it seems the best days are truly gone, wow.
I really liked one comment that was posted about this songwriter/song...it's been on my mind all early morning long at UPS...it said, they couldn't make music like this nowadays if they tried...how true...it's like we're deevolving... :O)
I had no idea in my first decade of life that a funny movie and a soundtrack which my dad then purchased would become such a strong memory of things good from my youth. Each passing decade of my life see me gravitating back to those times and understanding why my parents would also listen to music that used to sometimes annoy me because it was too outdated for me to appreciate then. It all makes sense now...
@Torrque I was born in the early 80s. I remember my dad taping the film of the Tv. now in my late 20s the film and songs still evoke strong memories of hot summers days without worry, takin' it easy. No computers, mobiles or political correctness, just decency and your own ideals of goodness. in what seems like a bigger world back then. Brilliant film Brilliant soundtrack
@CynicalFish I feel the same, granted I got a decade on ya (b1971), but the feelings/nostalgia is the same. It's 1 of the reasons I love movies/music from the 70's-early 80's, & vintage video games. (Atari 2600, etc). It seemed like simple/easier times. I know every generation must feel like that, but this particular era, really IS F'ed up! I doubt the next generation will look back with fondness on the 2000's. "I sure miss the Bush years, patriot act, economic collapse, etc", yea right!
@johansenhome I was there too, it wasn't any picnic???, life never is...but the 1990/2000s versus the 70s...I mean come on...it's obviously gone to the fucking shitter...
@johansenhome I remember a little about the Carer years. (I was only 5-10) But the current era is similar to the Carter years (financially/recession), except with shit music/movies (now) LOL.
@gjc82071 I love it, most accurate, like the Carter years revisited only with ZIPPO talent in music, movies and practically damn near everything else :) great post...the world's obviously gone to hell, how could anyone ever see it differently, I sometimes think it's just me, being me...WRONG!
@28october19731 Your right. It's not just you, haha. Maybe I am biased though since I grew up in the 70's-80's. It just seems like such a fun time. Great music, movies, and of course, the birth of video games! I was b'71 & lived in San Antonio TV in the late 70's. During the "oil boom", they were building arcades, mini golf, go-kart, fast food, water parks, etc. Every weekend was so fun! I lived in Atlantic City NJ in the early 80's. The Boardwalk was so fun! HUGE video game arcades!
@gjc82071 you're a genius...they were the greatest times...when you look at it we were born about the latest you could have been born and that there was still a world out there... :O) I was born October 73 and I would say that from 1986 onward it's been a gradual degradation of society...
@CynicalFish I agree my friend, i was born in 1960 and remember watching this film with my younger brother and my parents, and we laughed and laughed. The world seemed a lot easier then, not as many worries as now. Be safe and take care Macca.
@CynicalFish it was a simpler, much better time, all this technology crap sucks balls...has it made anything really any better or anyone any happier, really...no...it's just yet one more way to make a lousy fucking buck...
@FREEBIRD6111 what a degradation of society since then ha...I really miss it back then VERY much too, happy days, fun times, great memories...I'd give anything for it to be the 70s all over again...please...
