Good video. I think it's a shame that often Christianity is judged off of lunatics like Brother Jed. They never come out giving it a good image, but instead present it in a "down your throat" kind of way and more often than not, misconstrued too.
Born again doesn't mean lacking sin. It means forgiveness. All humans are sinners. That's what set Jesus apart, neh? I think that casting the stone would be a sin, too. That falls under the "Judge not, lest ye be judged" clause.
Hrm. I have a thing for songs with Babylon in them. I always found the story of the tower of Babel interesting - if entirely absurd as well. Even my favorite book, Moonwise, has one of the characters singing a song that contains a reference to Babylon. :D
Ahh, i can see that link. In Judaism, Satan is the adversary. It's his job to tempt people to see if they fail. The Old Testament god is rather mean. He likes to wipe people out, turn them into pillars of salt, tell them to kill everyone in their path, and send someone to tempt them to see if they'll bite. But, Satan himself is like an angel, lacking in free will.
When did Christianity decide angels had free will?
I mean - if you don't have free will, you certainly can't fall from grace.
I am thinking that a great deal of contemporary Christian mythology re: Lucifer as a satan comes from Milton's Paradise Lost.
Actually, Brother Jed claims to not sin (I don't know if he claims not to be a sinner.) According to Jed part of the "I am Born Again" doctrine appears to be that after being "born again" a person sins no more. How would this affect the "cast the first stone" adage?
Also, this is the second time that Babylon has come up today.
These verses teach that the Devil/demon/ satan will eternally reside in Hell. 2 peter 2:4, Rev 20:10, Matt. 25:41
