  • was this filmed with a camera or a potato?

  • @MrNumNums13 Are you an idiot or just plain retarded? Another tough question for you.

  • @guitardc59 somebody is overreacting just a little about a pointless youtube comment

  • @MrNumNums13 Hey, you ask stupid questions, you get stupid answers. What'd you expect?

  • Is this the music from the scene in Shawshank Redemption where Andy plays the opera music for the inmates?

  • @drfitnessnow No, but that's a great scene!

  • Haha I actually kinda like the music, never thought I'd be one of the people who likes the 'bad' music, but it finally happened.

  • THE SONG OF THE DROWNING REEF PIZZA CAT...

  • the music killed it

  • It's funny because this music is totally perfect for this video... unless you're a surfer xD

  • Why Dont You Keep Zooming In.... It Helps With The Shaking ! Holy Shit Do You Have Parkinsins??

  • Nice choice for music, not often you see edits with classy music.

  • nah fuck that shit mayne, hook us up with some lil wayne

    -.-

  • So,to get back to the beach you have to take an 8ft slab on the head in a couple inches of water?? Are there options or do you just have to man up and hope you don't end up chair cruising with Stephen Hawkins?

  • One of the most taboo spots on the planet xD

  • Party and party and WAVE

  • Worst for me at Waimea was being in the foam with not enough water to swim to the surface.

Lifeguard said I was under for over a minute.

    Trays anyone?

  • This music is so wonderful. Thank you for not having some classless punk-ass metal crap. Keep it up.

  • oh man... so glad to see others sharing their near-deaths at waimea. i'm in that boat too! the freakiest most extreme freak set i've ever seen. my dad and i were there for a good hour and it was flat as can be when next thing we knew, the entire bay broke, over jump rock and i was by the ripcurrent panicking haha.

  • MUTE

  • @kekoameanor LOBOTOMIZE

  • @TreacherousJaywalker PENIS BUTTON

  • i live on maui and when i was 10 i almost died in the summer.

but the waves were half the size of this so i cant imagine surfing this

  • Only once you've been rocked by a wave at waimea have you truely experienced true fear!

  • Combinaram bem a música e o vídeo. Parabéns! (Brazil)

  • I like the music on it, but you should have taken the voice in the slow motion parts, it is like watching " The Hills Are Alive with the Sound of Music " with stomach problems... :)))))

  • i think the music fits the video perfect

  • you should work on ur filiming and editing go to heald college..."get in, get out and get ahead"

  • Great music. My wife walked down the aisle to this :-)

  • 1:19 this is florida on a 5 foot day

  • I Hate Haters... >=[

  • not a huge opera fan but juxtaposed with these waves it works!

  • not a huge opera fan but juxtaposed with huge surf it works!

  • I never referenced loud fast music as a compliment to waves. I grew up hearing CK and all the rest of local music when watching waves from my car. Sure we can complain about eh video quality but the spirit of the waves and your music choice make for technical faults. Its about time I not get my head banged in when watching surf. Aloha to all my bruddahs & sistahs!

  • id go it

  • those guys have huge b@lls for going out in that, ive been held under in waves 3/4 that size, maybe 3 waves in a row and it is horrific!!!! i managed to feel a rock with my hands while held under and crawled my way towards nearby rocks to climb up along the sea floor! what denyy8908 says is totally true, you literally beg God to get you to the shore! eventually thoughts start going in your mind like "just breath the water in, and it will be over soon" but you just gotta fight through the burn!

  • yups.... honestly i dont listen to dis kine music... but it does kinda really makes me remember how fuckin shitty it is to get pounded by one of these fuckin monsters... choke times i almost drowned there... u get pounded by one wave den after that is wave after wave after wave...

look small kine baby in the vid but in person...fat waves.. good vid tho man

  • good video, terrible music for it tho

  • Beautiful video just like beautiful music and very sweet

  • the opera music goes great with the waves nice thankx alohaz from ns ;-)

  • nice music and nice video... from Basque Country

  • guys waimea shorebreak is very heavy, its not reef break folks, its all good old shorebreak

  • Somehow the music fits o.O

  • athiest's are dumbass's looooll

  • All these haters! The music is epic. Perfect for Waimea.

  • so poosey i bodysurf dat

  • @TheMAUI96761 cool story brooooooo

  • devo if the bank changed when u were on the shorey and a 10 meter giant was rolling towards u

  • great music mate, goes well with our gracious sport.

  • work on the editing..

  • Comment removed

  • this music is terrible. it doesnt even fit in with surfing

  • haahah worst music duude

  • listening to someone follow thru sounds better.

  • lol opera, niicee!

  • I like the song, the vid and most of all the sea! What do you mean by 8 foot Hawaiian? Long boards? Wave size? Those sure look quite a bit more than 8 footers to me...

  • @crankinozzer hawaiian scale for surf is measured by the back of the wave not the face value.

  • Surfers got Big Balls, you'd never catch my ass out there lol.

  • I'm an opera singer, and a surfer in my spare time. Lakme doesn't cut it here, I'm afraid. How about Tannhauser (the overture), or Fliegender Hollander (''Die Frist ist um", sung by George London) for the maritime theme! And to those who comment on these great videos on youtube, could you bear in mind that children watch these too, as well as adults who would like to enjoy membership of a civilised society. Thank you.

  • this video sucks hairy ass!!

  • Weak music, weak vid.

  • Comment removed

  • Alot of people don't realize that the difference in height means little!! A 10 ft wave on the east coast isn't as powerful as a 10 ft wave in HI!!! I wasn't prepared for my first taste of waves more powerful than the ones a my home break and had my as handed to me! I came back but I learned alot when I got back to my hotel that day and it said 5 ft on the web. It felt like it was 20 ha ha don't comment until your in the water and know!!

  • why would u do the whole thing in slow motion

  • the music is stupide and not adapte for the video

  • some people dont know what its like surfing out in the northshore, its a whole different story, the water is much much more stronger and powerful than many other places.

  • this music is such a boner kill

  • @TreacherousJaywalker lmao ur an idiot... smd

  • Not heavy at all the waves at a 30 degree angle. not HUGE either

  • i love the video! i grew up on oahu and i had a near death experience at waimea when i was 20 years old.i got rolled and held under twice in a row with just enough time to draw a breath before the second pounding,if anyone is an athiest, you should paddle out into those waves, they can make you beg God to let you make it back to the beach.i don't have an appreciation for the opera music. but at least i'm alive to see the video thanks!

  • @denny8908 @denny8908 Thanks for the comment. Glad you survived. Most people saying the shorebreak in this video's isn't heavy probably have never ridden it at this size (8 foot Hawaiian).

  • @TreacherousJaywalker Seriously I Mean Don't Talk Unless Youv'e Ridden A Wave Like This ! I Mean The Biggest I Went Was Like 2-4 Hawaiian At Sandy's But Still. Faaaaaat Liiiiipssss!

  • epic.!

  • @denny8908 Its got nothing to do with god, its the raw power of nature.

Im an atheist, god didnt save you...you did it yourself.

  • @denny8908

wow yet this comment provides absolutely NO proof of any existence of any divine being. I kind of wish you died so there would be one less retarded christian in the world.

  • @denny8908 athiest here, been out, been held under, thanked science afterwards.

  • @denny8908 same shit happened to me in nica, got sucked out in a rip and was way out of paddling shape and the next thing you know i was praying to jesus.

  • @denny8908 That doesn't mean God exists. sweet story though

  • @denny8908 Amen to that bro !!!!!!

  • i feel like eating some ghirardelli chocolate now

  • why the fuck did you use this music?

  • @MrCaveman1992 Because I love it.

  • @TreacherousJaywalker I guess it's the right and best answer!...

  • @TreacherousJaywalker that doenst even make sense, why would i be in the kitchet? niceee head...

  • I love your reaction to the comments!

  • i think ur wife should stick to the kitchen..

  • thats not a shorebreak

  • Great video, great music. Nice and original.

  • hahah dude so epic!! so packed i love how everyone just charges the wave at the same time. hahah

  • Waimea unloads.

  • As a surfer who has been sidelined with epilepsy I think you, @schralper1990, should pull your head in you little twat.

Matching that beautiful aria from the Pearl Fishers is is really good idea, but yeah, need a tripod and some good focus technique. Probably work very well with footage from Teahoopu inslo-mo, I reckon.

  • ur so stupid. u seriously thik this music is right for a surf vid. mabe good for ballet dancing

  • You need a tripod bud....

  • Powerfull waves, powerfull music, charging surfers. Nice.

Trick I learned with the camera, use your other hand ( thumb and forefinger ) to grip the edge of the fold out LCD screen, makes all the difference.

    Keep them coming.

  • WHY THE FUCK THIS MUSIC!»?!?!?! THIS IS SURF NOT A FUNERAL OMFG.

  • get some decent fucken music and the video might be good

  • the music suits the video pretty well

  • OHMYGOOOOOOOOOODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

    lol

  • WHY WHYwhy? the only reasons i can think of are:

    1. surfers dont allow them anywhere else

    2. to try and prove they have balls.

    3. they have no brains

4.their women are so dumb and ugly, they prefer to try and drown

    5. they are so povo, they cant afford to come to australia.

6.they have no carpet at home and would prefer to drown.

    7.they lost their watch and are trying to find it.{its down their somewhere'bra"}

8.their mum and dad are actually brother and sister, they'd prefer to drown

  • if you tried to surf, you would probably drown in the sand before you got to the water.

  • so what the hell are you ? i would love to see you get pulled in on some 30ft face that shits just fun and its not all about the surfing its about the ocean "bra"

  • @97177 i realise that some of the waves being surfed were ok, ie, out the back, and they looked fun, if you can do it, it is just the shorey, that my comments were about, i mean why the fuck would you try to ride it, when all it is is a pounding, so my humor was about that.

and it was just that.. humor, said in good spirit..

by the way, i actually am a surfer, have surfed for 25 years, in all different surf, si its not like i dont know the pleasures of just being in the ocean... peace

  • @TreacherousJaywalker yee for surre. that channel in the bay gets pretty testy on strong norths. that boulder spot is the last place you want to be

  • Check "Sundown in Morocco" for another epic surf film ... :-)

  • how do u get in without getting crushed by the shorepound?

  • @surfingcoolguy123 go out in between sets....or be a bad ass and duck dive it...or go around...

  • @ryanofdeath u cant duck dive that shit, its about 5 ft deep and is really fucking heavy, and you cant just go around waves

  • @surfingcoolguy123

    Timing.

  • eww that music sucks so bad!, ruiend the vid

  • they are a very fear of ondaas

  • this is unbearable. just awful. wtf, jay? why even post this? get your head out of your arse.

  • @TreacherousJaywalker Plz shut the fuck and dont react on my comment

    Thank you.

    Loves,

    Drumstokjes.

  • I genuinely think this is a sweet vid. Keep it up man.

    Mahalo

  • nice music u fag

  • i love just watching the swells. thanks so much for posting this. all you haters shitting about the music, SHUT UP FAGS, YOUR THE ONES CALLING MUSIC GAY. JUST BECAUSE YOU DONT LIKE THIS MUSIC, IT DOESENT MAKE IT BAD

  • What a waste of vido bandwith and that teribble music!

  • Ha ha - classic! Keep the great comments coming.

  • @TreacherousJaywalker

    wow thanks!!!

  • @morecrap1 couldn't agree more

  • uhhh time to complain. First of all the footage is shaky as fuck and the music made me have and epilleptic fit how disturbing and disgusting it was. Thank You.

  • LOL - love the comment - classic! Thanks for watching.... and listening!

  • @TreacherousJaywalker only joking man rad vid just trying to fit in with everyone else ahahaha

  • @TreacherousJaywalker stop using these "haha, classic" comments. they're old and not funny at all. btw. shitty vid

  • worst camara-guy ever

  • This is the first time my wife ever used a video camera, so don't expect perfection. Some good shots of the shorie however...

  • ooh , yeeah , the waves still awesome tho , nice flick

  • gayyest music

  • Actually.........TOM . Good name by the way. This piece of music is called Aria. A very beautiful famous piece.

This is classical music. Not Gay music. Infact I don't even know what constitutes gay music. Just because this isn't speed metal or metal or alternative rock doesn't make it GAY music.

Wiami Bay gets some of the biggest waves in the world. The surfers who surf these waves do it with finess . They make it look graceful and easy. And I'm sure thats why they chose aria

  • good footage, unfitting music.

  • shit music good waves fail vid

  • annoying music, some shaky footage. 3 stars

  • the music is also the theme music for British Airways, except I dont think these dudes are looking for in flight entertainment or to watch the in flight movie! Reckon they be flying down the face of a wave though - big respect to all you that surf this

  • sick clip what up with da usic

  • those waves are breathtaking!!

  • skimdeleware is a fucking idiot. oviously you have never seen the eddie those waves are big enouph to run the eddie you fucking vall faggot

  • Comment removed

  • floridaskateman..ur a jackass..those waves are barely reaching 25-30...the eddie runs at 40..so lame brah..haha..jus stay in florida

  • why do all the hawaiin videos, in the big waves they all ride fairly large boards

im from australia and the bigger the wave the smaller board that we get more speed and what not or do the boards just look bigger in these videos ahah can someone plz explain TY

  • its big for the paddling power. they probably wouldnt be able to catch waves over here on a shortboard

  • they are called guns..its so they are more stable on big waves like these...

  • Actually its so they can catch the waves. The bigger a wave the faster it moves. So they need these giant guns to get on the wave. Once on the wave, you could use a 6'5" and rip it up, as demonstrated by the strapped crew at Jaws.

  • Comment removed

  • @haydz45 Big boards generate a lot of speed as well.

  • @lluvsk8in true true :)

  • just shut up u dont know what ur talking about

  • not big enough to have the Eddie though.

  • to user 995715202

ur a fucking dumbass, honestly, read the title, it says waimea...not sandys, and believe me, sandy's can't comprehend wtf waimea brings to the table

  • the shore break is at Waimea and aswell and sandy beach.. i surf there all the time usually 4- 8ft here.. but when it is on 20-30 ft

and that is what i call big

  • classic day surf , classic music

  • The shorebreak, is that sandy beach? Please answer me this, during the surfing season, are the waves at Makapu'u point as large as those seen in this video at Waimea Bay? Thanks for the music, good choice.

  • @995715202 not really, makapuu and sandy beach have good shorebreaks but when they get big like this its really sloppy and weird and crap. waimea is the best/biggest shore break on oahu, maybe hawaii

  • Whats up with this music???

  • looks like 10 to 12 foot pinballs to me.

  • music is awesome actually.

  • Music SUCKS, but the vid's GREAT!

  • u uncultured bufon

  • Bad music :(

  • i have respect for this music but, it doesnt fit bodyboarding.

  • Good answer! Unbiased and concise. Refreshing to hear that not all surfers are as daft as they act in the lineups at times... I do agree that opera is an oblique fit for bodyboarding. This video is more about men and women interacting with a weighty ocean than anything else however. Cheers...

  • NICE JOB

  • Dude i love this music!

  • it aint over till the fat lady sings rite...lol#500

  • those that think this music sucks clearly have no culture in them, sad really. They should be pittied.

  • culture? oii mang some people just preffer different music. ur a dick head

  • Having different musical tastes doesnt mean saying this music is shit, maybe you dont have the capacity to see the difference.

  • make me sleeep hahaa

  • If it was my intention to please surfers, I would have filmed Mavericks sped up with speed metal or emo music playing. Or dudes doing 360 airs and chicks with hot asses strutting up and down the beach. You are products of your society, thus I already know your likes and dislikes. No need to remind me.

  • Thats pretty stereotypical, dont you think?. Products of the society we are all, doesn't mean we fit these dispositions, or should we be thrown into pile of stereotypes. We are all unique, but we do all share a love for the ocean. I'm a surfer & an opera music fan, although your right I would rather watch hotties on the beach and taj punting a huge 360, I also enjoy the cinematic approach, good video I enjoyed it. ty peace&love

  • I sometimes watch surf videos with the volume down and Beethoven playing. Its wonderful going perfectly, almost better than the original music.
