30000 my friend one Spartan killed 30000 Persians the 300 killed together 900000 Persians. 120000 Persians surveived the Thermophyls and then they get all killed by the 30000 spartans who stayed in Sparta and 10000 free greeks were with em! That is what the Spartans did, they fought and died for freedom, they fought so that their children and their children's children would not have to live under the rule of a tyrant. There was about 250 000 persians, 300 spartans, 700 thespians and some other greeks but the other greeks left to defend their cities and the 300 spartans and 700 thespians stayed behind to hold off the persians. The persians couldn't win against the spartans in infantry combat, so they fired volley after volley of arrows. the spartans where killed by the weapon they hated the most.

In real life, Leonidas was killed at the end of the first battle which raised to spartan's morale so high, they fought a hundred times harder. The pershan army was about 1-2 million and the 300 spartans killed over 21,000 pershans before they had been wiped out.
You're...wrong. You can't even spell Persians right. Leonidas died during the final battle in which the Persian soldiers and Spartan soldiers fought over his body. Also the Persian army was NOT in the millions - It was hundreds of thousands at most, nobody knows the exact numbers.

what they really wanted to do was to make heroes of the 300 men who died to defend the city state of sparta. The persians are made as bad just to add to the movie. wtf? Alexander never lead 10,000 Spartans. The battle of Platea is the one at teh end. THEN came Alexander along with about 50,000 macedonians who eventually united all of Greece then wiped out the Persians.

There was about 250 000 persians, 300 spartans, 700 thespians and some other greeks but the other greeks left to defend their cities and the 300 spartans and 700 thespians stayed behind to hold off the persians. The persians couldn't win against the spartans in infantry combat, so they fired volley after volley of arrows. the spartans where killed by the weapon they hated the most.

In real life, Leonidas was killed at the end of the first battle which raised to spartan's morale so high, they fought a hundred times harder. The pershan army was about 1-2 million and the 300 spartans killed over 21,000 pershans before they had been wiped out.

You're...wrong. You can't even spell Persians right. Leonidas died during the final battle in which the Persian soldiers and Spartan soldiers fought over his body. Also the Persian army was NOT in the millions - It was hundreds of thousands at most, nobody knows the exact numbers.

what they really wanted to do was to make heroes of the 300 men who died to defend the city state of sparta. The persians are made as bad just to add to the movie. True they were conquerors but at the time they brought inventions and peace to barbarian countries like the romans later. I agree with forever polaris. I Agree with you... this is just a movie out of a comic... as for the real thing... I suggest everyone do some research on the history and make your own judgment ^_^!!! (However, I firmly believe the 300 Spartan must be formidable warriors otherwise people wouldn't even bother to portray them like this...)
