I think if I did something wrong in the first stitch and the last stitch incorrectly, the whole pattern will be destroyed because the both edges will not aligned in one veritical lines. I made many mistakes in this.
gracias por todo, teresa. todos los dias abro tu pagina de youtube para ver si tienes novedades. ya he hecho varios gorros y bufandas. un beso desde madrid
Dear Teresa, Thank you so much for you time and efforts! I have been crocheting for some years, however have been stuck in a glitchwith never becoming cretive. After watching your videos I am fully ready, willing, and able. I have been looking for a different ripple stitch and this one is great. My daughter wants an afghan that is just over 5' wide and using your calculations I have been able to construct one. I am using Caron Simply Softs yarns, that include 7 different colors. Thank you so!
Just have to thank you for all your great videos! I have been sitting infront of my computer since yesterday and making a baby beanie hat after your video and now Im trying to make this stitch into a scarf. I think I might make it. :) Adding one row with single stitch aswell. Think I ripped it up about 5 times now. But it was the same with the hat. Then finally it started to look ok. :)
So is this a good size for a lap blanket? I love this! I can never figure out how to do the second row! I have been really wanting to make a ripple blanket, thank you so much for sharing this!
What I have done in the tutorial is just a swatch. It has two peaks and one valley. You need to add on 24 additional chains for each ripple segment. If you tell me approximately how many inches wide you want to make the afghan, I will figure the multiple for you and tell you how many chains you need.
45" will be plenty large for a lap blanket. Each ripple is approximately 6.5". You can fit 7 ripples into 45". I take 7 X 24 for 189 + 3 = 192 chains. Depending on your crochet tension, it may be a bit larger.

Can this pattern be done without having to decrease? Something similar?
chsarrow 3 years ago
Sure, you would just do a row of double crochet, then the next row with the double crochet chain 1, skip a stich, double crochet in the next.

WoW! It looks like it's really easy!

Hmmm, I'm not sure. What do you think is a good size for just a normal lap blanket? Can you tell I am so new to this!! LOL
