  • Fake. Helicopters can't fly.

  • Christ if that guy says that this is a aeroplane one more time im going to kick him in the teeth.

  • That comentator is the most annoying twat to listen to....

  • rot rot rot.......I LOVE THIS! :-)

  • EMENY CARE PACKAGE INBOUND!!!!

  • AEROPLANE WTF its a fucking HELICOPTER not an AEROPLANE COME ON GET IT RIGHT

  • The announcer is incorrect. the CH-47D is powered by 714 engines each one making 3,500 hp. the 712's were used in earlier versions

  • I love this helicopter

  • i puked on my keyboard !

  • love it!

  • IT's a medium lift helicopter the CH-54 Sikorsky is the HEAVY lift........ THey were next to our in Mainz-Finthen Army airfield as I as one of the 35K's working on the SAS & PSAS systems it was an old Super C model with T_55-L11 engines and as far as I"m concerned having flown and crewed a few I love them better then the Huey, and the CH-54 but I am biased...!!! Ha.... oh and the commentators are morons and they do not serve the Brits very well....

  • It seems like the wind is playing with it!! :D

  • i wish i could see the in flight video from that guy.

  • They look good and sound even better!

  • ooo wish i was there :(

  • Was the commentator Alan Partridge? ffs!

  • I fart more sense than these pair of idiots, must have been on a bet, who could sound the biggest fool.

  • okjgjgjghjghjghjghjghjghjghjghjghjghjghjghjghjghjghjghjg

  • ok

  • These guys are retarded, the crew is awesome retarded and the commentary, well, call a helicopter an aeroplane, and it's Chinook not Chinooooook. It can't believe they picked commentary for an airshow who know so little about the aircraft.

  • the mouthy idiots who do the commentary in this and all other airshows should be hung upside down and have their throats slit from ear to ear.

  • On the NATO base in Naples, Italy, when the fleet was in, they would fly these in and land at a heli-port on the side of a hill. When I would hear them, I would race out and climb most of the way up the side of that hill, with my head even with the landing surface, clinging to the grass there as they would land and take off right over me. You can feel the weight as they flew overhead. What a thrill!

  • 5 people are jealous because they don't have piloting skills?

  • impressive, that quick stop was awsome

  • 2:27-2:34 Absolutely impressive show of piloting skill.

  • So did no one get the top gear reference or were you guys even trying. If you weren't um you sound exactly like them.

  • this is all talk and no chinook noise.

  • I really like the CH -47. It's a roomy and capable bird. Slow but a great platform for airborne operations.

  • A big green lump? It's not elegant, but it'll kick your fucking ass.

  • @indyschmidt I'm a designer for these things, and the cockpit really is a face only a mother could love...until you depend on it for everything. Then it's the most beautiful beast around.

  • @ERAUsnow I used to be part of the group that built the thing and I have to say I do miss working on it. It was fun watching it in flight test.

  • takes big loads internally!!!

  • @CARPSPUDPICKER that's what she said

  • I still say under whatever conditions it's under; the Chinook is a great air craft you have to admit.

  • Tis not an elegant airplane is it?

  • is alan partrige speaking????

  • excellent

  • I like the analogy.." It's like marmite, either you like it or you hate it" LOL

  • this blows the V-22 osprey away

  • they sure don't fly them like this at SeaFair or US military air shows.

  • Who says an elephant can't dance? This pilot is totally crazy....

    Thanks for sharing!

  • lol it looked like a marine combat boots to me with two rotor blades....

  • The best helicopter in the world IMO. Flies with the fastest, maneuvers with the best.

I bet you could barrel roll and loop it :D

  • Not an elegant airplane?

    It's not an airplane -period-.

  • @xBulletFan2091x It is an airplane, dumbass. It just isn't a fixed-wing airplane.

    By definiton...look it up

  • 1: it's not green

    2: it's not an aeroplane

  • i wanna pilot one!!!

  • these 2 british guys dont know how to shut the fuck up and enjoy a airshow

  • Wow! That's really amazing!

  • I knew he was going to say Afghanistan...psh

  • Robert1983USA, murderbagINC is correct. The C-box (Combining Xmsn) receives the power from the engines xmsns mounted in from of each engine and transfers it to the fwd and aft xmsn. It is at the C-box that the rotors are sychronized through a safety mecahnism. I used to crew B's and C's model as a Flight Engineer and i can tell you the Chinook is a very versatile helicopter.

  • Man that's crazy. I didn't know those kinds of maneuvers were possible in such a large helicopter. I've underestimated the chinook.

  • wow i'd love to be a crewmember on that flight

  • smashey and nicey

  • Does he have to keep calling it an "aeroplane"?

Also he is talking to everyone like they have never seen anything in the sky before.

  • i think he means aircraft - or he should doas its an aircraft (helicopter) not aeroplane

  • Those are actually fun to ride in...

  • the rotors are in sync and the power is distributed through 5 transmissions. each engine has a nosebox that send power to the combining xmsn then to the fwd and aft xmsn from there. they are set to never meet.

  • Nice Alan Partridge commentary!

  • The back Rotor blades are higher but the front blades are angled up they do cross while in flight but they will never hit due to the way they are put through

  • Go fuck your DEAD Mother complete tosser

  • Dont Liston then go and Liston to some big headed yank O MY GOD LOL tosser

  • the back rotor is higher than the front rotor thats y the back of the copter is higher than the front

  • i cant believe how those two gigantic rotor blades doesnt hit each other while you are actually spinning it in high speed... and this is not an airplane you moron..

  • the rear blade is higher than the front and that is how they don't hit

  • No, both rotor discs are connected to eachother mechanically, that's why they don't hit eachother. They DO cross eachother all the time.

  • ok i thought about that when i was looking for this comment because i was reminded of the gear timing system in the old fighter bi-planes that are there so they don't shoot the propellers off but ok i guess i just thought i saw the blade higher sounds like your right

  • lol wtf its not a airoplane and the comentaters lol

  • i cant bleve it i went thare man;0

  • Great vid great crate tho you'll never get me up in one of them!

  • LOL BRITS....

  • great video, but cant help but feeling that there's something wrong, is it the uncanny valley or is there some kind of skam here

  • nice video!!

  • great footage. thanks for posting. best manuevers i ever saw a twin rotor do. 5*'s

  • You have to LOVE IT......And alll those who Fly It... i mYSELF DON'T have enough seal stamps to own one...

  • awesome!

  • a purty bird

  • she lifts her own weight and will outrun a ah 64 apache !!!

  • @2pararule But the Apache out classes her with weapons LOL

  • I've seen a couple of those live - beautiful birds.

Never knew they were that nimble.

    Good pilot.

  • the americans have done a good job building that but lets not forget its partly british designed an britain an france will never be defeated due to us making concorde anamerica did try ;)

  • Did anyone mention alan partridge yet?

  • Thats badass,way nimble.

  • LMAO the announcers laugh is so funny!

    "hehickhickhickhick"

    xD

  • That's not the RAF's heavy lift chopper, that's the WORLD'S heavy lift chopper.

omg that piloting was fricking SICK!!!

  • its beautiful when you see it hovering over you after a fortnight in the bush with a broken femur.

  • where is this air show-and is it an annual thing?

  • haha the english sence of humour cracks me up, or maybe coz one of the guys is from Dorset-ish?

either way mr comentators, its a rotary wing aircraft aka HELLICOPTER! not an "aeroplane"!!

  • Many people in the aviation industry refer to helicopters as "Aeroplanes", several of my instructors at Middle Wallop did.

But I know what you mean!

  • yes the chinook is a very sexy areoplane (helicoptor). its been around for a long time and its great

  • sexy chinook.

  • Hes as meccaphile

  • can anyone who knows about helicopters tell me,

Is This an INTERMESHING rotor helicopter...?

  • It's not an aeroplane, the guy is just keep saying aeroplane.

  • In the Army we jokingly referred to helicopters as airplanes. ATC would never call anything but a fixed wing aircraft an airplane as regs that govern helicopters differ greatly than that of airplanes.

That aside, the chinook is an awesome airplane.

  • its a helicopter and he cant even pronace chinoock proply twat

  • That's rich! You can't even spell!

  • Those commentators are pure Alan Partridge. Ah Ha!

  • it really annoys me how the commentator takes the mick and calls it an aeroplane when its not an aeroplane its a helicopter! idiot!

also, its an amazing machine, obviously doesnt have a clue.

  • Military personel and ATC controllers always reffer to all aircraft be it rotory or fixed wing as a aeroplane, because it still has wings and air is still running over them to keep it airborne. You obviously don't understand the priciples of aviation!!!

  • well its a helicopter to me.

  • It is to me aswell mate, but when you got to shows like that, and if ever you listen to ATC on a Radio scanner helicopters will still very often get reffered to as Aeroplanes. As much as you may hate its one of those things your gonna have to learn to live with!

  • i work for a helicopter company that maintains the Chinook and make other various helicopters and we all call them aeroplanes.

  • You should see it fighting fires. This A/C is one amazing workhorse.

  • Fantastic !

  • nice show...!!!...I was in Edinburgh when this airplane was there...:):P

  • umm... *helicopter*

  • "Its not a elligant airaplane is it?" "No its not a elliant airplane" Isnt is a helicopter?

  • Indeed it is a helicopter

  • "What!?!

  • Is anyone else really wishing that the local radio presenter guy would stop talking and never say another word for the rest of his life?

His wife must be hate hearing the key in the front door.

  • Marmite!!

  • That is some serious flying skills 13tons & his fligging it around like a cobra!!! impressive stuff!!!

  • Oh absolutely, but of course with minimal crew, fuel and zero payload you could probably pull almost any manouvre short of over the vertical aerobatics. Then again I have seen a CH53 super stallion barrell rolled !

  • Its a helicopter!!!!!!!!!! gezz get it right =]

  • I don't have any idea what marmite is i dunno if i'm even spelling it right, but this chopper is beautiful and it does a good job it's a workhorse.

  • yeast extract...tried it...hated it, good buddy loves the stuff though...

  • Don;t you just hate the commentry all the way through..Spoiled a good display and the sounds with his......blah blah, yes we can see what he is doing, no need to tell me!! I'd of pulled the speaker cables out!
