  • Wich language is?

  • absolutely lovely song

  • @customer0503 o boze:( Mayra ne pojet prostenkih pesen. eto predstavitelnica tak redkogo segodnia naturalnogo penia a ne iskustvennoj i vyuchenoj opery, itd itp!

  • amazing work, great video!

this beautiful song fits fantastic in the hedgehog video..

  • @yuvalhuri2 Yes, It´s really great video but I´m interesting what does it do here? It's a film of the great Russian director Yuriy Norshteyn! I'm outraged by this incredible mix.

  • really love her broken voice .. ! ..

  • Does anyone know if this is the official music video, or if the person who uploaded it simply juxtaposed the song with the video? It is a famous Russian cartoon and so I would think there'd be copyright issues

  • @swinefluman123 Every cartoon or movie in USSR is made with citizens money. By people and for people. No copyrights. Enjoy!

  • So kind voice and mood sounds on this song :) this have become my favorite song on this days :) thanks !

  • this is old Russian cartoon , i think its called yozhik v'tumani, "hedgehog lost in the fog"

  • sooo sweet and beautifull sound...

  • sheer musical poetry

  • So I suspected... Wonderful sounding language, esp. for singing...

    Thank you very much :-D

  • What language is this please? Sounds like Portuguese...

  • it is portuguese

  • It is Cabo Verde Portuguese. Mayra Andrade is a rising star of Morna - Cabo Verde Portuguese Music. She is already known in Brazil, Canada (mostly in Quebec), France and Portugal.

The video is the old Russian cartoon "Hedgehog in the Fog" by Yuri Norstein.

  • This song touches my heart everytime I hear it.

  • sorry, i cannot read hebrew...

  • but i try every possibility to find it out ;-)

  • Beautiful animation. Put up the credit for it!

  • The animation is russian & very old, i think from early 70's' I remember it as a child...

    beautiful, isn't it?

  • I know you were trying to remember the Russian animation-someone here said it's called Hedgehog in a Fog (kipod ba'arafel in Hebrew)

  • Is this French?

  • Creole. But marydrew1 put a French translation here...

  • I see,well,thanks,i don't understand it either hee hee

  • My French is a little rusty but I think I can come up with an English translation soon enough:)

  • I'm translating the French:) Today, when I looked up at the sky, I could see stars. They told me you had left never to return, my love. I asked God's angels to come look for a woman who could not live her life w/o yr love..yr love.Queen in despair, I look for a way, with a sword and the power of love and pain. With a soul free in time. I will to live with my eyes shut, so to keep you with me...with me.

  • Wow....:)

So emotional and romantic hehehe, thank you! besous..:p

  • merav-u r the best!

    thanks for translation!

    galit

  • Well...too bad they took it off!!:((

  • @blueandwhite72 except that it's not French, actually it's Portugese Creole spoken in Cabo Verde where Mayra Andrade, the performer, originate...

  • @regiskonan You misunderstood. Someone had posted the translation from Portuguese Creole to French on this site a year ago (see page 6 of the comments).

I used that to further translate the song into English. I know of Mayra Andrade and her origin:)

  • @blueandwhite72

Thank you..:) Seems the word like Shakespeare..:)

  • @blueandwhite72

Thank you..:) Seems the word like Shakespeare..:)

  • @blueandwhite72

    Thank you..:)

  • @blueandwhite72 Sorry..but that's not French...It's the Creole language of Cape Verde (near Africa..)..

    some kind of Portuguese.... :)

  • @zohar01234 If you read my other comments-I didn't say it was French. I wrote that it was Portuguese Creole and that I found a French translation for this, which I then translated into English. I know of Mayra Andrade and her origin.

  • @sofullofmusic For the last time please (and if you read the many, many comments on this below, you'll know). I didn't say the song was in French. What I said was I found a French translation of the song, and in turn, I translated that into English, which Vandoren3333 was kind enough to post above, and give me credit.

  • And, by the way, the lyrics may be hers, but the music was written by Idan Raichel, who is a very talented Israeli musician who collaborates with many different international artists in many languages (from Hebrew to Arabic, Spanish, Swahili and yes, Cape Verdean creole). I've been to four of his concerts......highly recommended!!!

  • love the video

    and the song

  • I would love to have the guitar tab for this song. Can a good soul post it?

    Thks

  • OMG! What a beautiful voice! Divine!

  • thanks for the lyrics! just one question, though: it is Fogo Creole?

  • Yes it is! She's from Cape Verde

  • ODJUS FITXADU : LES YEUX FERMES

  • I found my lyrics on the Idan Raichel Project website but it didn't say what language it was.

  • The singer is from Cape Verde (an island off the west coast of Africa). The language is Creole

  • where can i actually get the word to this song ...not in english???

    ahh omg i love this....sigh

  • I think it's in Cape Verdean Creole: It had a root in the portuguese language, but even for me (native Portuguese speaker) it's very difficult to understand. Anyway you can see in Idan Raichel's website. There's a translation of the lyrics.

  • i love this cartoon!!!

  • LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!

  • Does anybody know where can i find the transliterations for this lyrics or the others in the album?

  • When I looked at the sky today All I could see were stars Telling me that you are gone forever, my love Do beseech Gods angels To come and get this woman Who refuses to go on living without your love Your love Sovereign queen over gloom I seek a way out Bearing the sword and the power of longing and pain With my soul free in time I vow to live with my eyes shut And thus keep you with me, With me...
  • This an old russian weird cartoon called "Hedgehog in a fog"

  • Every one of his 3 albums has at least one of these beautiful meandering melodies. I have them all - it's some of the most interesting music I have and you can listen to it over and over again without getting bored of it.

  • what are these lyrics? and what language? its amazing

  • I believe it's Cape Verdean Creole.

  • Really? Very Nice!

  • what a seemingly random choice. goods great though :)

  • Ezik v tumane....i Idan....interesting!!!

  • i love this song!!!

    great work!

  • Wonderful song! This last album of Idan Raichel's Project is a masterpiece!!!

  • :))
