  • Psychopathology is the study of mental illness, mental distress, and abnormal/maladaptive behavior.

Psychopathology should not be confused with psychopathy, a genetic subtype of antisocial personality disorder.

  • @ChristFollowerAlways Actually, I've read the DSM and lack of empathy isn't a trait. That's for antisocial personality disorder, darling. The traits of BPD are fear of abandonment, unstable moods, devaluing and idolizing someone, impulsivity, self injury, anger, emptiness, and paranoia/dissociation.

Again, I've read the DSM. I'm diagnosed. I'm a psych major. You may want to check your facts.

  • @ChristFollowerAlways Compulsive lying is actually the case for HPD and sociopathy; borderlines tend to be honest about their feelings, whatever those feelings may be. I've never lied about what I am to anyone - I value honesty and tend to be an honest person. In fact, it shocks me how much "ordinary" people lie about themselves to create who they are.

    Again, read a DSM.

  • @ChristFollowerAlways Again, you're inaccurate. The last relationship I was in consisted of nothing but trying to please the other person so that he wouldn't leave me. All I've wanted is someone to love me. He cheated, called me psychotic and broke up with me, via text, the day after I left the psych ward I went to in order to change FOR HIM.

I dare you to tell me I was the one who fucked up that relationship.

  • @ChristFollowerAlways What you're describing is NPD. BPD are actually afraid of losing people. Every time a relationship ends or a friendship gets messed up it tears me apart. We care about people. I give blood and do various charity work because I care about others. I have an OFFICIAL diagnosis and still am considered a very caring person, and I'm a psych major.

Have you actually READ a DSM? You may want to; you sound very ignorant.

  • Psychopathology means mental illness

  • Awesome vid. Thanks for doing an awesome job at explaining this to others. So many people assume its a lack of empathy, when really its that we lack the skills needed.

  • I stopped watching the news about 10 years ago. It upsets me too much to see these people broadcasting a one-sided message to thousands of viewers who have so much respect for them and will believe so much of what they say.

It sickens me to see how shallow the new casters can be when they present the news. It sometimes seems to me as if they actually get a little excited while they announce horrible news. How sick can a person be to enjoy telling horrible news?

    Don't watch. Don't support them.

  • BPD is that disorder that goes between neurosis and psicosis, but in this personality disorder there is a proof of reality, they know what they do right or wrong, there is a problem with impulse control, with low tolerance to frustration. We dont know what is the disorder in Casey Anthony's case, everything is through the media, and that is not real, who knows what was the real problem, perhaps too much stress in a short time and a lot of frustrations, a very sad case.

  • I'm bpd and I do lie to get away from it, but its not like i do it on "purpose" lol and i do lack empaty lots of times, but it comes with shame "afterwards"

  • @swerkur i just read the article recently and they actually said that the psychologists that they interviewed didnt actually treat Casey anthony. But were rather speaking from personal experience. It just reeks of misquoting.

  • i have a MI Group on FB now as well as in Second Life. I will be sharing your vids and the link for subscribing :)

  • You go Girl I love you Dani Z xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxxoxoxoxoxoxox

  • Great video! I just adore the pattern in the background--it's so bright, vibrant and beautiful :)

  • Casey Anthony = Narcissistic Sociopath

    RIP Caylee <3

  • @swerkur lol yeah someone else just pointed that out to me. She is obviously not a very credible source.

  • i also want to say its nice to meet nice ppl cause unfortunatly i know a few ppl with bpd and they rn't nice and don't believe there is anything wrong with them.

  • @thddanizblog i subbed ur's thanku im going to make more video's just waiting for my laptop to come home. Thanks and anyone else who has bpd would love if u wanna see my video's.

  • @ilovetoshi7 lol you are not a crazy b. yeah it is very misunderstood.

  • @theharrison46 Oh that is funny I didn't even think about that. The "expert" in the article actually calls it "psychopathology" instead of psychopathy. I guess that alone should be a sign of how credible of a source she is.

  • stay up dani z!!!

  • @YaKinfolkJStylesOO9 I will thanks! :-D

  • @ChristinaBrown, I agree with you, she described an NPD. How does a Doc eff that up?!?!? Or maybe it was the media misquoting her?! Either way saying crap like that isn't something to throw around ESPECIALLY when most of us Mentally Ill people TRY our hardest to become better... Dr. Kuriansky did mention Anthony to have "narcissistic features with particular attention to pathological lying." .. anywhos this pissed me off! *off to meditate* Anyways thank you dani Z :)

  • @StupfeyImbroglio Thank you for the comment. :)

  • Hola mama it's the same type of crap that they give us with Schizophrenia. Let them tell it we are ready to mass murder every and anyone at the drop of a hat. Too many times the public falls for this misinformation due to not having living examples before them of persons with mental illness being the exact opposite of how they are portrayed and because a lot of people are unmotivated to find out for themselves what mental illness is really all about. Thanks for being that light that shines.

  • @soymiguelalejandro23 Thank you too for everything you do to raise awareness and work to disprove stigma. <3

  • liked ur video. I have bpd myself and have made a couple of video's feel free to check em out. I have empathy and i admitt i have lied at times to get attention but id never lie about something bad or anything really bad.

  • @ihaveawhitebird I subbed your channel :)

  • you mispronounced it, its Sara So Ta

  • @quadcore152 oops

  • Sounds more like NPD.... The 2 are often confused*

  • @ChristinaBrown1 I know it's so frustrating!

  • Pardon my french but this is a huge pile of bullshit. Some of it is right but not the lying part! This has angered me. If you're interested in my point on BPD subscribe to me. Love your blogs.

  • @SallissSuicide Thank you! I subbed. :) Looking forward to see more from you!

  • If anything, people with bpd have a lot of empathy.

  • @XXRavethedrummerXX I know that is what I think!

  • THANK YOU!

  • @cinnamonroll9 Thank you!

  • They should try a psychiatrist instead.

  • It was 'Dr. Judy' she is like Dr. Fraiser Crane. "Hello caller, what seems to be troubling you today?" Or Dr. Phil. People who claim to be doctors. But are they really?

She is the Wikipedia of psychology. Wikipedia is not a credible source.

    Good video Dani <3

  • @GodlessManitoban Thank you! <3

  • @thedanizblog

    You're welcome ^_^ :p

  • im new to this bpd and we have alot of feeling maybe too much so what the hell r they talking about?if they found me not gulity of murder i would have fell out they would be picking me up off the floor they just wanted to give her something smh

  • @msdelle22 Yeah I know I think we are probably even more empathetic than most people.

  • It's a shame when the media does things like this. BPD and Psychopathology are not terms that can be used interchangably. I think the worst part is that a quick referrence to the DSM would tell anyone that pathological lying and lack of empathy are NOT symptoms of BPD. ABC news not only did a diservice to people with BPD but also to the public by providing false information on a serious (but treatable) mental illness. Publishing this article was not only harmful, but it is irresponsible as well.

  • @xangirl88 I completely agree!

  • I think the part of that article that bothered me the most was the "non-human" comment. Having BPD doesn't make us some sub-human being! Like, what an awful thing to say to someone who's clearly suffering!

  • @zequeenofbleu I know it's so ridiculous that she even says that! It blows my mind!

  • <3

  • @Chiiiiyo :)
