the most melancholic and pessimistic album by death in june - in my opinion. when I first heared it, I was dissapointed by the minimalistic music, but hearing it more often, I became familiar with it and even haunted by. the lyrics are (as always) difficult to understand for "outsiders" - but when thinking about them you will find at every hearing (or reading) something new - also when it has nothing to do with what the author probably meant at first - but it keeps you thinking....
I had the same initial reaction. I have to say that deep down I still wish that TROTT was as well produced as "But What Ends..." or "Rose Clouds..", But lyrically I think it's some of the best DI6 material out there, and that's saying a lot.
Increasing years have not diminished but enhanced and replenished his powers.
A race for time, to live, create and to leave a legacy- the imagery attracts those with certain psychological needs- if they want to create a brotherhood out of nail varnish, leather and short hair- then heil the cabaret- meanwhile the music transcends.
I am captivated still by this record.

Lovely'n'nice Ode! T.R.O.T. is great! Much better than "Alarm Agents", and in tradition with "All pigs..." & "Roseclouds Of..."

i don't pretend to know what all the lyrics mean. I DO know art reveals and comes clear in time. Douglas P. writes such poetry.
