@PrckoBas well, I suppose you are entitled to your opinion, but as Ian Anderson approached Anna to guest on the Jethro Tull tour and they played two of her compositions, then he clearly doesn't agree with you. Anna also has a very successful career and works with many eminent artists, like Jon Lord, Brian Ferry, Steve Tyler among many. So thanks for your comment, but you won't find many in the industry that will agree with you.
@naoshikato I did know that Anna's uncle had a Goth rock band, but didn't know his name. Interesting - clearly took a different career path to his brother.
the old aqualung came twirling into the spotlight to see the pretty panties run..but di d catch up to the cute fiddle player and did 'things' to her..while making deep sea diver sounds.
What is this, commonplace now? This Anna Phoebe isn't the first attractive violinist he's had up there on the stage. She sounds great though. It's just too bad that IA has completely lost his voice at this point. He sounds horrible. They should hire Phoebe as a full-timer. She could replicate the vocal parts on the violin and then we don't have to hear that nasal yelp. Ian Anderson was King in his day. That day is long gone.
What? You guys really think that IA should still be performing any more at his age?...Wait, no, not his age...His age ain't got doo-doo to do with it. His voice in 2009 isn't even a pale reminder of what it once was in the 70's. I either laugh or cringe when I hear him sing now. He once had one of the most distinctive and complex voices in the biz....It sounds like someone is holding is nose shut while he tries to sing now...Why can't these guys know when to bow out gracefully?
.....It's also disgraceful what YES has done....moving onward without Jon Anderson is simply disgracefull. The concept of 'musical integrity' has gone out the window with these bands that I once revered. Every band is taking their cue from crappo bands like Foreigner and Styx, who lumber on with only one original member and a horrible stage presentation. Go suck a fart, Ian A. You were once my idol.
I agree that vocally Ian Anderson is passed it, I was at this performance and it was sad to watch. I prefer not to attend now but fondly remember all the good times that I had at more distant JT concerts. That said, I still acknowledge that Ian Anderson is still unbeatable and pure genius on the flute. I see no need for disparaging remarks - Just a big thank you to JT for times gone by!
Who you talking to, Willis? The guy is absolute torture to watch now..Why would anyone who loves quality music want to endure this?...It's tragic...Go and listen to how awesome his voice was on Benefit, 'TAAB' or Minstrel...and then quickly turn on this and other modern debacles...It's like an impostor has stolen his persona and flute...Thing is, the guy can still even write quality music...'Language of Birds' was evidence of that...But, sing those songs he's written?...I'd rather listen to U.
We thought it was *all* brilliant as did my 2 year old son. It was his first festival and we went specifically because of tull. For those who were there, he was the little lad spinning round and dancing continuously from start to end! He now calls Jethro Tull 'real music' LOL. great vids btw.
Nothing like starting them young. Glad you liked the vids - well Tull was always pretty complex music. Anna said it was the most complex stuff she'd ever learnt. I half expected somebody to stop me filming, but Anna just said put it up on YouTube so here it is - she's currently performing in front of crowds of up to 20,000 with a 67 tour date for TSO in the US just now.
Seen Tull many times and always raved but Wickham was different, Ian Anderson's new vocal style is crap! Sorry Ian! The strange mic control thing and wierd vocals became annoying after one song. Flute was pure genius, as always! But this was my last Tull gig!
Amazing! I was supposed to have seen this show at the Acoustic Festival Of Briatin which was cancelled. Seeing this has made missing them all the more gutting! Nevermind, thanks for posting it. Really great.
PS. No one else has a a better guitar tone IN THE WORLD than Mr M L Barre.
This melody is very nice for improvisation, alas she is so non-gifted and untalented ..
Playing in session (for good) is goal she'll never achieved.

IA sounds much better here than when I saw them at Royal Festival hall this year. His voice is shot! He needs to get a vocal stand in.
