repubs, says this is all obama's fault, lie...we're 3 trillion in debt due to bush's war...
2 tax cuts? more so...obama's spending until jobs come back...he says NOTHING, no solution, only spin doctoring, that's what republicans do best, tax cuts increase the debt!! idiots...they're saying what people want to hear, obama's spending didn't start this problem...go chris!
@reeblite Tax cuts increase the debt? Obviously you are joking. Anyone with a brain understands that debt is caused BY SPENDING, not the failure to tax enough. When our government learns to stop spending more than what it takes in, then we will have a balanced budget. Until then we continue down a road to destruction. Apparently this is okay for you.
Dems or Reps in Washington, it doesn't matter. They do what they want and you and I pay for it regardless of our political persuasion. It is time that my neighbors and I, regardless of which side we though we could trust look out for our interests....realize that we are just the vehicle they use for an easier life and stop arguing amoung ourselves. Those in Washington, care little if any about what we really want... that much is obvious. We should be united to clean up Washington. It is corrupt.
I wonder why Matthews even asks guests he doesn't agree with questions, when he's just going to talk over them. Guys like him live in a fool's paradise as they continue to bite the hand that so lavishly feeds them.
Wow Jim Moron and Chris 'i'm peeing down my leg I'm so excited over obama' Matthews. These two should just shack up and share backrubs in a Turkish prison.
Chris mathews and Jim moran and the government are financial terrorists if you ask me, these people ruin peoples lives, reputation, an businesses and peoples American dreams because a bunch of pathetic asshole liberal communists demand control, cripple wealth, and demand compliance to THEM! a free people is NOT the agenda of mathews and the current crop of politicians ON BOTH SIDES!! there are a FEW exceptions to this in government! SAD!
If you agree with chris mathews and moran, it is totally clear you do not produce anything, you have no business, that you have to keep a profit, you do not have to make a payroll, you know nothing of supply and demand, costs, balance sheets, regulation compliance costs! City, state, and federal agents continually seeking out ways to take your money and shut down business that they or the public don't like to get political support!
I can't believe the economic illiteracy on this network is unbelievable!!!!! Chris Mathews and Jim Moran's audience has got to be just as ignorant to still have a show. ANYONE that understands free market economics knows that it is a dynamic system and these two bosos are speaking as if the economy is stagnant! Please don't try to get my mind right with economic theory with "if's", "and's" or "but's" the economy is what it is and your arguements don't change that fact.
We are not looking at "new taxes" we are looking at the temporary tax relief for the well to do expiring. And these taxes, returning to normal, will not affect anyone making less than $250,000 a year. Those taxes that why will have to start paying again, (think of it like "no interest for 10 years!), will go a long way to reducing the deficit.
If you're middle class or below, they won't add to your taxes.
@gemini1766 Oh Bulls...t, there are loads of new taxes under the Bama. My Blue Cross and Blue Shield Health Insurance by my employer is now taxed $22/week. That's over $1100 / yr, and I make $110k A YEAR. STOP THE SPENDING YOU LIBERAL,HIRSTY, SIT ON YOUR ASS, SECTION 8 IDIOTS
The Clinton "surplus" was an accounting shell game. It never really existed. Research a little before blindly reciting these so called "facts" of your beloved democratic socialist idols.
@SugarMonkey528 The "surplus" was not a surplus in the way of taking our government from the red to being in the black. It was a surplus by way of what the government was spending vs taking in. If we stayed on that path we'd have gotten a long way towards reducing our national debt.
@gemini1766 technically, you are correct, but there was an increase in the Social Security revenues during this time which we all know simply go into the General Fund. True, the books did show a surplus from 1998-2001, but we were stealing from Peter to pay Paul.
The deficit, and our unfunded liabilities, during that same time period increased dramatically and continue to this day.
Chris Matthews, you are such an ass. Cutting people off as soon as they're going to to make their point. Putting words into people's mouths. And it's obvious you're ignorant of the basics of economics
you give tax cuts to the rich and then, take away benefits and cut paychecks from our teachers, firemen, policemen, etc. where's the sense in that?

I agree that we should deny citizenship to children born here to illegal aliens. AND I think it should be RETROACTIVE going back to the Pilgrims.
