Thanks J, just put it in a smart writtern format and send it as a message and ill add it it to the 'info' on this video and possibly on the Jargon buster on the site :-)
The large dome you see above the some apaches is the "Longbow" radar. It can track 256 targets in all wheather conditions then select the 16 highest value targets and engage all in about 30 seconds.
The American Models have a T701-GE-100C Engine why the WAH-64 has a rolls royce engine with about 25% more SHP.
The U.S. is also planning on upgrading all its inventory to the AH-64D Apache Longbow "Block III" which have new engines, rotor blades, the ability to control UCAVs,improved armor etc
I'm no helicopter buff lol and feel the same way about attack helicopters. I much prefer my tracked AFV's & MBT's, but sadly the Apache and Cobra are a serious threat to them. The Apache scored over 500 tank kills in the Gulf War and I'm sure JNT who loves them lol will correct me on that :-)
First off lets look at the Fire Power. It has one M230 30mm cannon with 1200 rounds with a rate of fire around 650 rounds a minute. Depending on the Ammunition it can even take out Ligt armored vehicles with (APCs IFVs) and is seeing alot of action in Iraq and Afganistan. Then you got the 70/76mm Rockets. These are also primarily used for "soft targets". Or the AH-64 can be fitted with 16 AGM-116L Hellfire II Missiles that can take out even the most heavily armored vehicles at 12KM away
If need be i can get more specific or just send some links
