being someone whos in a band, i know how difficult it is to NOT steal breakdowns.
we spend so much time writing, and when we play a breakdown we like, we keep it. and sometimes afterwards we'll realize that it sounds really similar to a breakdown we've heard before. this happens a LOT more than you'd think, and we don't doubt that the reason we like the breakdown is because it subconciously sounds familiar.

adtr's breakdown rhythms are so unoriginal it hurts. but that doesn't make them a bad band, because they still play catchy, poppy, and fun fuckin music. it is possible to enjoy a cheesy breakdown. who fuckin cares anyway? oh, also, if you think this "recon" band was the first to use that rhythm in a breakdown, you should get your shit together
Overall, I say the parts that people would consider Pop, have a more "pop" sound and the parts people consider as heavy, are even heavier. It reminds me a little of the first album but with much better sound quality and the singing "pop" sound of the 2nd album. I would not call this selling out, because they didn't change to fit a completely different style. I really like this sound, its different but it is still good old ADTR which is what I was worried about. Liking this stuff :)

I actually find it funny, this is my favorite song on the album, along with welcome to the family..I just cant stand the "disrespect your surroundings" part :P I think its really cheesy haha but otherwise there new albums amazing

they sound nothing like emmure, or parkway drive, or anyone. thousands of bands out there use breakdowns regularly in their music, and a lot of breakdowns sound similar, but that doesn't mean they sound like that band! shit.
and also, about the recon thing. it's not the lyrics they stole you idiot. it's the breakdown itself. if you listen to the original off of graves, you will see.

yeah, some of the breakdowns really do sound like emmure. They have a few parts in one of the new songs (not sure which one) that sound like for the fallen dreams.

A couple days ago i was in my brothers car and we decied to listen to ADTR first album, made like 3 or 4 years ago or something like that, and in their song 1958 they used the line "You won't make it out alive." Many years later this horrible band called Recon copied ADTR's lyrics for their song 13. There ya go (:

kk so i listened to that song by recon, and heres what i think:
1. If i have to listen to it again i will kill myself.
2. That band is so horrible they do not have the rights to have those words in their song.
3. only one line is the same, WHY ARE ALL OF U FLIPPING OUT?
4. If ADTR copied that band then i feel bad for them because that band sucked weenie.
5. I would not call that copying at all, it was a 5 word coincidence, as if we have never seen that before???

adtr's breakdown rhythms are so unoriginal it hurts. but that doesn't make them a bad band, because they still play catchy, poppy, and fun fuckin music. it is possible to enjoy a cheesy breakdown. who fuckin cares anyway? oh, also, if you think this "recon" band was the first to use that rhythm in a breakdown, you should get your shit together

Overall, I say the parts that people would consider Pop, have a more "pop" sound and the parts people consider as heavy, are even heavier. It reminds me a little of the first album but with much better sound quality and the singing "pop" sound of the 2nd album. I would not call this selling out, because they didn't change to fit a completely different style. I really like this sound, its different but it is still good old ADTR which is what I was worried about. Liking this stuff :)
