Correct, this is just our 21 psi pump gas tune. It took 29 psi and race fuel to make 719 WHP. This is just showing what the car can do with pump gas on low boost.
S374 BorgWarner turbo, nope no meth. The car made 609 WHP at 24 psi with no meth, no race fuel. The current tune we are running in this video is 21 psi, no meth pump gas. The car is a beast!
@ptperformance if the street pull was only at 550 whp... why is this video titled 700+ whp??
hell, i could put a stock civic on here and say, 800+ whp civic.. but then later in the comments, i just say, oh... this video was just when it was on stock tune. just because the car has made 700+ whp. which, dont get my wrong, im not doubting that one bit.. but that has nothing to do with this video if in its current state it is at 550 whp. im just confused as to why you lied in your title.
Because the race gas tune was boring to watch, no matter what gear I was in it would only spin the tires and peg the redline. It was cool to see the tires spin to 200 MPH, but it only lasted for 4 seconds. This was the best video I could get showing the power of the car without boring people to death.
Knock sensors have been adjusted according to the engineers at Dodge. Taking the knock sensor calculations from the stock turbo to the stage 3 turbo and applying those to the new compressor map of the turbo we are running. This has given us the perfect knock sensor range for 1500 RPM to 7400 RPM. Anything over 7400 RPM is creating to much nose for the knock sensor and its always firing. So yes, the knock sensor is functioning.
@ptperformance so after 7400 it's basically off...and this thing is revvign past 8K to 8500 if i remember correctly, so.. that's 1,100 RPM in the high end with no knock sensor function to speak off.. Might be a reason the block likes to rip apart/ send things through it?
Maybe you are not understanding. The knock sensor goes full active after 7400/7500 RPM. The motor is making so much "noise" that keeping the knock sensor active will do good for power production. If you are responsible with your WOT timing tables and monitor your spark plugs you will never see knock above this RPM. The problem is not with the block, its a problem with RPM. The higher RPM doesn't allow the crank to recover quick enough, hence bending the crank.
true, you can determine whether or not there is kncok by reading the spark plugs although if your flexing the crank that badly at that high of RPM, why not get it ion nitride coated? it's only like $120 plus shipping.
anyway.. i'm curious now as to what the plugs look like.
We have tried two different types of nitriding processes, both failed. Now we are getting the cranks "hipped", this process will allow the crank to be 70% more rigid but will not make it more brittle. It will flex yet return to its original shape. We are very excited about our new cranks, and should have one in the shop car early spring ready for race season. After we have the crank tested, we will be adding them to the list of items for the SRT4 Neon.
Actually it has lasted over two years now. The first motor was hurt because of an OEM tone wheel, the second motor was a bent crank (whoops, they don't like 8500 RPM). This last motor has been great, we just have to get a better crank inside of the motor so we can take it out past 8500 RPM, which we are working on right now. Stay tuned, we are shooting to be the first 1000 WHP SRT4.
I have never seen any dyno results to prove this. Next, if it were running that much WHP it would be running quicker in the 1/4 mile. Crawford was running 960 + WHP and was able to turn 7's with his set up. The Mopar race car was running a little more, and they were very close to low 7's. To date, I have never seen a 1000 WHP SRT4 dyno chart.
You are talking about the 1/4 mile dyno sheet that they posted? That didn't have any HP numbers attached, LOL. It was just a curve with RPM and time... no numbers were on that sheet.
I have never scammed anyone and if you can find that one person I will issue a $100 cashiers check for resolving that matter for me. Its our competition that is making the claims that we scammed people, not customers.
I'd have to search for it. Also, I guess you could say you didn't scam, but you tuned peoples cars and disabled their knock sensor, which is basically like draining the oil from the motor and disabling the oil pressure sensor. Also, so you could tune peoples cars horribly, but they'd never know cause they'd be on xx amount of boost with no knock. Woohoo!
Correct, if you look at the boost gauge (far right of the screen) you can tell its only running 20 psi. This is our 700 WHP shop car running at 20 psi for a quick steet pull. With the 30 psi tune loaded on the car its just to dangerous to drive on the street, it will spin the tires to 160 MPH, that is that tune that we made 700 + WHP on. Hope that clears everything up.
Not yet, we have suffered crank failures like the rest of the market. We have the new crank sitting here and are just waiting for the pistons and rods to show up. We decided to go with a longer rod to help with the poor rod ratio of the SRT4 motor. This should also help with keeping the new crank from bending.
@shhorty1911 If you stay out of the throttle the MPG is around 26. If you get on the gas and have a night of racing, plan on filling up twice in a night. I have seen a little at 80 miles in one tank of fuel.
Awesome. I'm making around 600 right now but still on a log manifold and 38mm WG. What are the benefits of the twin WGs and at what point are they needed?
@lowrance122 Twin gates will give better boost control when you spool up larger turbos like this. Back pressure can become a real problem and when running divided manifold with equal runners you want to make sure you don't merge the gate into the divided runners, it will hurt the division of the manifold.
@lowrance122 Its our manifold, its a divided twin scroll with twin 45mm Turbosmart Ultra gates on it. I also installed two 2" dump tubes for the gate. Its runs a full 4" downpipe right off the turbo.
thats a fast srt what size turbo in theres no way it runing on PUMP gas making 700whp ur runing on race or something

@ptperformance sooooo, why not be real and put the title as 550 whp?
dynodrew44 6 days ago
@dynodrew44
Because the car makes 700 WHP, not 550. What I should do is give a title of a SRT4 doing a burnout to 120 MPH!
