  • Who the heck disliked this?

  • @RoughEdgedBeauty Hmm... Lemme guess...(seeing five dislikes atm)

The two nurses/doctors and the security guard in the hospital, and two old grannies that had their car flipped over by the giant.

  • @ghoang Well I didn't dislike it so I don't know why you're getting mad at me.

  • @RoughEdgedBeauty You must be mistaken, I'm not mad at you at all (and never accused you of casting said dislikes btw).

I'm just making an explanatory joke saying the dislike votes were casted by the people in-movie as I already mentioned in the reply.

  • "Exactly..."

  • I love how how they make the movie's ending happy in a way :) It's sad, but definitely the best ending ever. He lived an adventurous life, and his ending was with all of his friends, family, everyone. All there, happy to see him, letting him go and rest in peace.. Makes me cry :')

  • As soon as they arrive at the river, and all his friends are waiting for him to send him off, I cry like a little girl :(

  • I seriously cried at this scene.

  • There is no way in hell that I could not cry at this

  • The only movies/tv shows that have made me almost cry: Up, Wall-e, Toy Story 3, Dear Zachary, Big Fish, and the ending to Lost. I didn't expect to adore this movie as much as I did and was really surprised when I saw that it was directed by Tim Burton. It's an amazing movie that everyone has to see... no excuses.

  • teardrops on my eyes everytime i see this wonderful movie...i can't stop crying..i just can't...i don't want to.....

  • cant believe how amazing this movie is!

  • The whole scene at the cemetery, burton letting you alone with your emotions...it cracks me up every time.No narrator speaking, the crowd at funeral muted, and me sitting there with wet eyes...DAMN YOU TIM BURTON.

    One of my favorite movies

  • This break my soul in 2.-

  • I'd love to die like this, lookin at all the people i ever meet and was happy with in all my life

  • I remember being like 16, and crying my eyes out when seeing this for the first time.

  • Seriously... this is the happiest sad ending ever filmed. :')

  • haha this is funny

  • Did anyone else sob their hearts out when Edward Bloom died? I certainly did but it was the most perfect death scene I have ever seen in a movie.

  • The music is... incredible.

  • 3 people have no heart and no soul.

  • Good work... I'm sure it's even more powerful if you watch the movie first, but even as a stand-alone scene, I found it quite moving.

  • @Hollywood4Fun you have to watch it :,) its my favorite movie of all time and it never, ever gets old :)

  • T.T

  • Damn I almost never cry during any movie but this just gets me every time. Not just a few tears but actual crying. This is the best movie ever :)

  • goddamn i have to play this ending for a presentation at college tomorow and i know i'm gunna cry

  • this is how i wish i got to say goodbye to my grandpa. I didnt make on time to the hospital to say goodbye to him.

  • This is how people should die, being able to say godbye to everyone you knew and then go in peace.

  • Um dos filmes que eu mais chorei e me emocionei!

  • This scene has me bawling every time!

  • can anyone tell in what scene is it that the Big Fish appears ?

  • very end of the movie. I have to say this is AMAZING movie so critics prepare to be amazed

  • @zadeylee When he's fishing, the fish takes the ring and then gives it back to him...there's a kind of "fight" between ewan mcgregor and the fish...

By the way, best ending ever, my tears drop everytime I watch this scene =')

  • i love this part of the movie! after going through the whole movie despising his father's stories and searching for the facts, the son inherits what his father wanted him to have all along, the stories, the extra magic that isn't always apparent in real life, but always present

  • This movie made me tear up a bit ... i never do this when i'm watching movies ...

  • so ya im not gonna lie...i teared up...havnt teared up like that since Saving Private Ryan...

  • ¿Es que nadie va a decir nada de la musica de Danny Elfman? Si llorais ,la musica tiene gran parte de culpa, aunque no os deis cuenta

  • El comentario más coherente que leí en mucho tiempo...

  • This is like the best movie ending i have ever seen...seriously

  • I remember me and my Mum watching this on the couch one night and we both couldn't stop crying. After seeing this movie I've decided this is the way i want to die, so peaceful! I loved the fact that everyone you have ever met is there cheering you on.

  • I just realized this guy is Dr. Manhattan...

  • At the very beginning he flew through the hospital, like when he was born XD

  • haha that beginning scene where he came flying out made me laugh so hard. lol

  • I haven't cried in a movie for 5 whole years. No joke.

and when I saw the part where he sees everyone before he dies, and they're all just clapping and wishing him good luck. I just started bawling.

I really hope that it's like this when I die.

    That'd be just so awesome.

  • No doubt Lolita...no doubt. Think about the lives each and every one of us lead; it's like we all have this amazing canvas and our lives and memories enrich it with texture and color..sometimes beautiful other times not so much. However, when it's all said and done, in our own way, each and every one of us have an amazing story to tell. We might not see it early on, but time has a way of providing perspective and ultimately we're all "Fish" with our own story to tell. =)

  • lol it won't be

  • mileu cyrus was in this

  • could write the same words like DSC.... i dont even need the whole movies...these few minutes are enough....my everytime no. 1 movie*

  • No matter how many times I watch this, it always makes me cry. And I'm not one of those people who cry easily.

  • @DSCMoo WheN I read your comment I thought 'Hey, I don't remember commenting on this video.'

It's exactly the same for me.

  • @DSCMoo

well, i'm one of the people that cries easily. just imagine how much this ending has me bawling in tears...hehehe

  • @DSCMoo Indeed. I havent cried in years but this actually made me cry like..more than tears haha, like actually sobbing. very emotional scene, tim burtons father died a really short time before the film and he did an amazing job showing the father-son understanding and relationship with this scene. one of the most powerful scenes I think

  • ♥

  • big fish is one of the best films i´ve ever seen.

    thats a very sad ending..

tim burton is a GOD. ♥

  • you are not the only one :D

  • By far the happiest sad ending ever filmed. :D I adore it no matter how many times I watch it.

  • when my grandfather was in hospital about to die he used to close his eyes while making weird, slow movements with his arms as though he was dreaming. one day he woke suddenly up and looked at me, excited. he asked: am i old? and i said...well, just a bit (he was 84).and then he made clear i had been right all the time. he said, ah i thought they (nurses) were preparing my craddle... amazing.

so he thought he was a baby!!

and i haven't read this book but i like the ending.tschüss

  • This book and film had helped me so much, my Grandad who I am incredibly close to has been ill for some time. Yesterday he was diagnosed with terminal stomach cancer, he keeps thinking he is in the past.

And this has helped me to go along with what he says and helps me say what he needs to hear. Be I his mother, sister or grandaughter.

'We were like strangers who knew each other very well'

  • You're absolutely right, cusefan. This is something I think all fathers go through, and yet it's told from the son's point of view.

  • this is, without a doubt, Tim Burton's masterpiece.

  • @WannabeG00D

I have to agree. Just had the most emotions to it.

  • One the greatest endings ever!

  • it reminds me of titanics ending

  • Comment removed

  • What year was this made because it could of have to won best picture

  • 2003. For some reason the movie got mediocre reviews so I don't think it had a shot at best picture. How a cliche-ridden movie like Star Trek gets good reviews and a movie as original and touching as this gets mediocre reviews is beyond me.

  • This movie hit hard for me, because it was the year I lost my father. Great ending to such a great story. One of my favorites.

  • most movies are adapted from books.

  • "The damn church people drive too slow..."

    XD

  • I cry so hard when I see this scene !

  • I love this movie... this scene always makes me cry

  • This is a totally inappropriate comment for this clip, but I think the son is very handsome :) and since he's not in the public eye compared to other actors I almost didn't recognize that he was also in Watchmen!

  • That is a very good point.

  • although i can c where ur coming from, i c it differently. I don't think it was about love. They both new deep down that they loved each other, but they still had that 1 big disagreement. Its a scenerio all fathers & sons have been in at one point. The question wasnt did they love each other, it was do they understand each other. All the father wanted was for his son to finally understand how he thought, y he told the stories that he did. Which is y he told him to tell the story of his death.

  • I can't imagine anyone not crying during this scene.

Tim Burton's the best director ever.

  • I cry every single time I watch this scene, No matter what mood im in.

  • It's the only scene in a movie that makes me cry.

    I adore Tim Burton.

I think it's the best film ever.

    <3

  • cry so hard when I watch this

  • it's the best movie i've ever seen after Titanic....

  • This movie was fantastic...so magic, human and full of love. Tim Burton: Thank You !

  • Poetic...poignant...perfect.

  • Can you believe the father is the same person who played Daddy Warbucks in "Annie"?

  • what I can't believe is that this movie got sooo many Oscar snubs. IMO best movie, best director, best supporting actor Albert Finney, Best original song Pearl Jam, but this was the year of ROTK and as much as I love LOTR I feel Big Fish is the better flick.

  • OMG I cry soooo hard at this scene.

  • This is how death should be, a beautiful ending.

    I cried over this scene

  • theres tons of guys that cried of this scene tingergirl.

  • like me... heaps of times

  • My father died last year in a hospital bed and i saw this yesterday and man.. it kind of reminded me of what we talked about.

  • i saw this about 6 times at the movies one of my fav movies ever. and yes I cried every time no shame in that.

  • This will always b my favorite tim burton movie. i saw dis wen i was 14 and understood it so much. i wish to die and then live forever in such a way. beautiful!

  • its so sad this ending ,,

when he see's all his friends , lol it makes me cry :/

  • I just saw this movie on thursday, and as always at this part I cry, simply one of the greatest ever made movies.

  • omg I cried so hard when I saw this in the theatre. 20 minutes after the movie ended I was still crying in the car. I am never that emotional. Absolutely amazing.

  • Awesome,

  • just beautiful. it makes cry anyone, no matter how tough u are. I really feel that is a dad and son movie

i love my dad so much.

  • Sad? Yes. It makes this 21 Year Man Cry everytime (or tear up at least).

It's perfection, we can all connect to it, because when we go, we hope and wish for this. Everyone we have ever known, to celebrate us, home. Right where we belong.....

    Comment/Reply please..

  • This movie is the greatest movie ever made. It makes me cry whenever I see it, but not out of sadness. It is such a beautiful story.

  • this is a tear wrenching movie.

not really something for dating... its a father-son movie.

    dad i love you.

  • i disagree about the dating part. my girlfriend and i watched it earlier and enjoyed every minute of the movie.

  • AAAAAAGghhh! I cry every time. and now my room mate is wondering why I'm crying. This movie is magical. It showed me my soul.

  • when i first saw this in theaters, i was heaving i was crying so hard.

  • this movie shook the foundation of myself.

there are no rules when it comes to being the storyteller.

life is what you make it, how you view it.

if you meet you're own sandra templeton don't waste the moment. find out what kind of flowers she likes, hold up the boombox playing "in your eyes", do whatever it takes, regrets are just a waste of memory.

    thanks for posting this video.

  • I cried, and cried, and cried, and cried.

One of the saddest movie moments I have ever watched.

  • Well I hope in the case of dying, that you see the best parts of your life. Mr. X that was your life. Would be awesome.

I had a very bad car accident. I was in an warm place, there exists no pain, no fear, no body feeling, only thoughts & you´re floating. I survived and I think if you stay later in this, then happened more positive things to you. But I choose life.

  • I was with five guys when I saw this and Had to hold in my tears...such a beautiful interpretation of death

  • I think that happens if you go to heaven :)

  • such a wonderful ending!i fell in love with it:P one of my favorite ends, too,or maybe the favorite one

  • This is the only film that has made me cry my eyes out, brilliant ending

  • I was crying for over half an hour because of this ending, it's soo good :(

  • :'(

  • one of my favorite endings

  • bye my dear great grandmother.

you were the big fish and the biggest part of my life.

  • today my great grandmother died.

i was sitting in the grass crying, thinking of this scene. she told us lot of stories of her life, she was the big fish and the biggest part of my life. and this is the only thing i can do to say her goodbye, watching the scene again and again and again...while everyone shakes his hands and laughs and shouts FAREWELL, but there's not a sad face to be found.

  • my grandpa died march 28 of this year, he was a major part of my life, and i miss him dearly.

I've had trouble with mourning, so im here

  • May the good Lord take her soul home. You have my deepest sympathy, but I'm glad to see that the happiness over rides the sadness. Once again, from someone dying of cancer who will leave a beautiful wife and 2 daughters behind this year, I only hope they think of me as you do your great grandmother. May the good Lord keep you safe, happy and healthy!!

  • OMG!

    Finally someone uploaded this scene!

I get on my knees and praise the lords for you!

    Thank you so much!

This scene never fails to make me cry.

    It's awesome.

    XD

  • No problem dude :)

  • my favorite part of this ending is where he says "its unbelivable"

and the dad just says "story of my life" and kind of smiles

    wonderful movie and ending

  • i cry everytime <3

  • I've watched it about 7 times this week for school and find new things every time!

  • yeah. there's a lot of interesting symbology in the novel that this movie was made from, actually... cookies to those who can understand what they are.

  • wow awesome movie

  • it's a wonderful movie!i love this so much!
