damn XcentrickSalo, i had never noticed livia pulling her arm away from nat's touch, when she walks by and then the rub of her arm where nat's hand was, . there are so many complex subtleties to everything CC is bringing to the telling of this story. all of her physical, facial, and emotional reactions are just spot on. it is amazing to watch and discover new things when reviewing these old clips
i know right? god i wish another station would pick this up... maybe with a bit more budget this could get more viewers... i actually love the style of acting in it... its realistic, the way people talk and act around each other - and crystal has some of the best comedic timing ive ever seen on screen!

olivia kissed bill because she was thinking of natalia. if you watch her expression closely when he said "it will be ok, u got me, u have natalia" look at the her eyes it they got sultry at the thought of "having" natalia. then she kissed him when really in her mind its natalia she is kissing, just my oppinion

This whole episode is such a prolepsis of what comes next, all the innuendoes and double meaning dialogue between Olivia and Natalia...Damn GL writers are just amazing.

I haven't caught up yet with this storyline but I hope to GOD Otalis will become a power couple that goes on for ages and ages. They don't have to stay together - but please please let them break up then make up forever. It's time!!!

that huge at the end of this clip is just beyond great. all we get is hugs with these two lol but that hug was just extra great. the way olivia just unfolds her arms and nat instinctively goes into livs space and the collapse of it all. its sweet.
I love how Natalia completely avoids the question "2 people who mean what to each other?" Well..she is very religious and it is a sin to lie so I guess if you can't lie...avoid any answer. LOL
They both mirror one another now. In the kitchen at 1:31, crossing their arms and then moving one hand up to their head. They have been doing this in several episodes. 2-25 .44 hands over mouth during Olivia's baby shower talk, and 3-4 at .53 standing by the farmhouse door with Josh and Jeffrey arms crossed.
"Just go, if you want to see Frank just say so!" Boy if that isn't the attitude of a jilted lover I don't know what is. Poor Olivia, she loves Natalia so much it hurts.
Interesting that the song with the lyrics 'Puppy love' should be playing in the background as Olivia is confessing her feelings for Natalia. Could the 'Puppy' aspect of it be a conscious decision by someone, taking into account that Ellen's coming out episode was titled the Puppy episode all those years ago??! Hmmm...food for thought methinks.
One more thing. I hope the writers stress Olivia's connection to Bill, because he was there before when Phillip and Alan tried to take away Emma and put Olivia in a mental institution. He may of lost his rights as Emma's adopted parent, but that doesn't mean he shoudln't care. Just showing him in this episode and not anymore is not going to cut it. Buzz should be in the same position too. If Phillip goes after Emma and Buzz takes Phillip's side, that would be wrong.

I think you are both right, hell I can remember thinking back to how I felt when I realized I was attracted to a woman. I could've slept with an entire football team hoping the feelings would go away but they didn't so I guess Nat feels the same way and Frank's her denial! This story is really getting interesting. I can't wait for CC & JL interview on afterellen and also March sweeps!!
I have been trying not to read really specific spoilers, so I don't really want to know if it says that Nat specifically is with Frank to help him out... but I can see her finding it more difficult to reject him after his brother's death. We, the audience, see that she cares for him but doesn't seem to really be romantically interested except as an effort to deny feelings for Olivia (IMO). Perhaps she is comforting him and he makes a move and she lets it happen, for many reasons.
You know erik I'm wondering how the GL writers can justify Nat sleeping w/Frank as trying to "help him" after his brother's death but is so judgemental about her feelings for Liv. What kind of religious does one have when you think having sex with someone is ok just to help them out? Has she heard of counseling that is so funny to me...lol.
I think she is going to be praying for the feelngs to go away but asking for forgiveness, as she says to Josh, helping one person at the expense of another.
She feels she needs to be forgiven for hurting/betraying Liv.
I don't know if Nat will sleep with Frank to help him. It seems that'll be the case. We'll have to wait and see, but Frank is not interesting enough to be put with timid Natalia. He should be at least smart or have some sort of asset. But I've seen the writers do worse. Maybe Nat will sleep with Frank, because of her own grief of losing Gus. Maybe she'll regret it later, mainly because it is premarital sex. Does being gay trump premartial sex in the sin department of Catholics?
I think Olivia admitting it's more than friendship and showing a little jealousy over Frank already says it's more than sisterly, regardless of whether the writers have them act on their feelings in an unambiguous romantic/sexual way. Personally, I don't care if they label them, but I do want to see them have a relationship that's both emotional and physical. And not for the explicit value so much as a confirmation that phyiscal attraction, affection between women is as real as any other.
As I said Olivia is a bit crazy and even morso has been made creazier over the past couple of years (much to my distain). I don't expect the writers will change that.
You sound like a longtime fan where I am a recent otalia convert, so I will not question your perception or better understanding of the show than mine. However, even if they do not get together or it doesn't last, I don't think they will say their feelings are sisterly. Perhaps unrequited, perhaps both too afraid to act, etc. As for Olivia being crazy, we've certainly seen her impulsiveness. But I thought a big deal of this story was her becoming a better person because of Nat.
I think that the storyline is at a place where it has to go forward or backwards and make a statement one way or the other... mainly because of Olivia's character, her previous lifestyle... the glamour and bueaty... she has this smoldering sexuality that the screen eats up and she is not sick anymore...GL just signed her to new contract...
I am thoroughly enjoying the Otalia storyline. As weird as this may sound, I almost DON'T want them to define/label their relationship out of fear that it will ruin what they have. Their relationship/family is beautiful and a joy to watch , without the unnecessary "titles". Just let it be what it is.
What about the rumor that Nat will find out that she is pregnant from Frank after they sleep together...Will that be end of storyline?? dash everyones hopes!!
There actually is no real rumor to this affect. Not only is there no official word but it is getting terribly late to write it in now. She is due end of May beginning of June.
I've seen pregnancies written in less than 4 months (Jennifer on ATWT), all the way up to 12 months (Sharon had an elephant on Y&R). Writing a pregnancy in can happen.
As for the story, Olivia is a little crazy and Natalia is a little naive. Given recent history with Olivia, who knows how crazy she'll be this time? I'd say remember all of this when considering whether it is more romantic or sisterly.
to tell you the truth, this storyline, olivia and natalia, is what made me interested in this. i never really heard too much about GL, until this storyline. i don't really know too much of the background of each characters, but it hasn't really stop me from watching it. although, if some could give me the short version of their story, that would be wonderful.
and yea, i was like, kiss already! you both know you want to!

I didn't analyze that the way you did, but that doesn't mean anything. I don't believe this will be a "coming out story" and I really don't need for it to be, but I have wondered if the writers might not suggest something in Olivia's past or something... she is apparently very experienced. To be honest, I'm trying not to care about that, although if neither feels any sort of change in their identity that will make me worry about future boyfriends causing trouble. It is a soap!
Absolutely Pen - you're right. But I don't think we should underestimate the power of CC. She's won/been nominated for numerous emmies (sp?) on GL and she's worked on the show for 10 years. If she says she's behind the storyline and enjoys playing it (which she does), I think we might just get an OTALIA relationship. Ok, ok, so I'm still shipping, SOWHAT! Peace.

I can't get enough of these two. Their caring for each other is awesome. Even if they don't hook up, although I'm praying they do, I'm a fan forever. It's a pleasure to watch their interaction. Their scenes are amazingly well written and I love the humor. I can't wait for the afterellen interview with Crystal and Jessica.

I think Natalia's realizing that she just wanted to be home with Olivia will hit her again when she and Frank eventually go away for the weekend. And imagine Olivia is going to be really pissy when she leaves for the weekend ... good chance for sparks to fly.
Ok, so remember New Year's Eve where they gave us just a brief glimpse of Olivia's hand on Natalia's back? Watch the glimpse of the two of them grabbing each other's hair during the hug at the end. They are so slowly building the physical contact between these two ... it's fun to watch ....killing me...but fun to watch! :)

Agreed. The "hottie" line at Towers is easily disavowed as part of the homophobe taunting. Other than that, the only hint of physical attraction we've had was Olivia stumbling over her description of Nat as "beautiful" to Doris. I'd love to hear her saying she's dying to kiss her again. They both mirror one another now. In the kitchen at 1:31, crossing their arms and then moving one hand up to their head. They have been doing this in several episodes. 2-25 .44 hands over mouth during Olivia's baby shower talk, and 3-4 at .53 standing by the farmhouse door with Josh and Jeffrey arms crossed.

Interesting that the song with the lyrics 'Puppy love' should be playing in the background as Olivia is confessing her feelings for Natalia. Could the 'Puppy' aspect of it be a conscious decision by someone, taking into account that Ellen's coming out episode was titled the Puppy episode all those years ago??! One more thing. I hope the writers stress Olivia's connection to Bill, because he was there before when Phillip and Alan tried to take away Emma and put Olivia in a mental institution. He may of lost his rights as Emma's adopted parent, but that doesn't mean he shoudln't care. Just showing him in this episode and not anymore is not going to cut it. Buzz should be in the same position too. If Phillip goes after Emma and Buzz takes Phillip's side, that would be wrong.

I think you are both right, hell I can remember thinking back to how I felt when I realized I was attracted to a woman. I could've slept with an entire football team hoping the feelings would go away but they didn't so I guess Nat feels the same way and Frank's her denial! This story is really getting interesting. I can't wait for CC & JL interview on afterellen and also March sweeps!!

I have been trying not to read really specific spoilers, so I don't really want to know if it says that Nat specifically is with Frank to help him out... but I can see her finding it more difficult to reject him after his brother's death. We, the audience, see that she cares for him but doesn't seem to really be romantically interested except as an effort to deny feelings for Olivia (IMO). Perhaps she is comforting him and he makes a move and she lets it happen, for many reasons.

I don't know if Nat will sleep with Frank to help him. It seems that'll be the case. We'll have to wait and see, but Frank is not interesting enough to be put with timid Natalia. He should be at least smart or have some sort of asset. But I've seen the writers do worse. Maybe Nat will sleep with Frank, because of her own grief of losing Gus. Maybe she'll regret it later, mainly because it is premarital sex. Does being gay trump premartial sex in the sin department of Catholics?

I think Olivia admitting it's more than friendship and showing a little jealousy over Frank already says it's more than sisterly, regardless of whether the writers have them act on their feelings in an unambiguous romantic/sexual way. Personally, I don't care if they label them, but I do want to see them have a relationship that's both emotional and physical. And not for the explicit value so much as a confirmation that phyiscal attraction, affection between women is as real as any other.

You sound like a longtime fan where I am a recent otalia convert, so I will not question your perception or better understanding of the show than mine. However, even if they do not get together or it doesn't last, I don't think they will say their feelings are sisterly. Perhaps unrequited, perhaps both too afraid to act, etc. As for Olivia being crazy, we've certainly seen her impulsiveness. But I thought a big deal of this story was her becoming a better person because of Nat.

I think that the storyline is at a place where it has to go forward or backwards and make a statement one way or the other... mainly because of Olivia's character, her previous lifestyle... the glamour and bueaty... she has this smoldering sexuality that the screen eats up and she is not sick anymore...GL just signed her to new contract...

I am thoroughly enjoying the Otalia storyline. As weird as this may sound, I almost DON'T want them to define/label their relationship out of fear that it will ruin what they have. Their relationship/family is beautiful and a joy to watch , without the unnecessary "titles". Just let it be what it is.

There actually is no real rumor to this affect. Not only is there no official word but it is getting terribly late to write it in now. She is due end of May beginning of June.

I've seen pregnancies written in less than 4 months (Jennifer on ATWT), all the way up to 12 months (Sharon had an elephant on Y&R). Writing a pregnancy in can happen.
As for the story, Olivia is a little crazy and Natalia is a little naive. Given recent history with Olivia, who knows how crazy she'll be this time? I'd say remember all of this when considering whether it is more romantic or sisterly.

to tell you the truth, this storyline, olivia and natalia, is what made me interested in this. i never really heard too much about GL, until this storyline. i don't really know too much of the background of each characters, but it hasn't really stop me from watching it. although, if some could give me the short version of their story, that would be wonderful.

I didn't analyze that the way you did, but that doesn't mean anything. I don't believe this will be a "coming out story" and I really don't need for it to be, but I have wondered if the writers might not suggest something in Olivia's past or something... she is apparently very experienced. To be honest, I'm trying not to care about that, although if neither feels any sort of change in their identity that will make me worry about future boyfriends causing trouble. It is a soap!

Absolutely Pen - you're right. But I don't think we should underestimate the power of CC. She's won/been nominated for numerous emmies (sp?) on GL and she's worked on the show for 10 years. If she says she's behind the storyline and enjoys playing it (which she does), I think we might just get an OTALIA relationship. Ok, ok, so I'm still shipping, SOWHAT! Peace.

I can't get enough of these two. Their caring for each other is awesome. Even if they don't hook up, although I'm praying they do, I'm a fan forever. It's a pleasure to watch their interaction. The first time through (I won't admit how many times ago that was), when I heard Nat say, "I feel the same way," I panicked that we were getting a dream sequence. Instead, the last time through I noticed that we get Liv saying, "I do. I do." GL is making me a very happy addict this week!

Please don't flame me for being a little cynical at the moment. Like many people here, I've gotten invested really quick and am just ready to see a well-written, well-played, deeply emotional, romantic and sexual relationship between two women.
Even concerning women who identify as lesbian, it seems that the general public thinks it's more about women bonding more deeply, and less about sexual attraction. Their bond is undeniable; I'd like to hear her say, "I'm dying to kiss her again."

Agreed. The "hottie" line at Towers is easily disavowed as part of the homophobe taunting. Other than that, the only hint of physical attraction we've had was Olivia stumbling over her description of Nat as "beautiful" to Doris. I'd love to hear her saying she's dying to kiss her again. Or just, "My girl is fiiiine." :)
