  • that's a really big axel :) if i could even come close to that.....

  • you guys make it look so easy :'( i wish i could do a axel :'(

  • I skate left handed too and am right handed. I'm working on my axel right now but I'm having issues still. It's like I don't have enough strength in my left leg to land the jump. Any suggestions? I don't have a video up yet but I will soon hopefully.

Very good axel by the way! Very clean! :)

  • @laughliiveelovee Hmm do you make off ice training ? I started from off ice first and tried to jump higher as i could. And rope jumping helps too ! After warming up try to double swing the rope while making only one jump and watch out - sometimes it hurts :D

  • @SassyGirI it's very funny that you reply now. I landed my very first axel today out of the harness! :) I do do off-ice but I can't stand jump roping at all! Haha! Thank you so much for your suggestions! :)

  • @SassyGirI Funny you should reply today! :) I JUST landed my very first axel without the harness! I do do off-ice training but I can't stand jump ropes...I'll have to try it though! Thanks for all of your suggestions!!!

  • @SassyGirI As a kid, we called that jump rope move "double unders."

  • @laughliiveelovee Pardon my ignorance, but what does it mean to skate "left handed?" Does that mean you jump clockwise, so that you land your jump on your left leg?

  • @jfluter Yes, that's exactly what it means. I'm not sure why I call it that though, I'm sure it has a technical name other than "I skate left-handed".

  • @laughliiveelovee wouldn't it be a clockwise skater, then?

  • Never could get how they land on their left leg instead.I guess they're like left handers.

  • @HattieLovesCattie Nope, I am the right hander ;) Not lefty at all. I just started to jump like this, spinned like this and nobody corrected me xD

  • @SassyGirI Thats interesting.I am a very right handed right, legged person. My old neighbor could write with his right hand ( I think he was more comfty doing things with his left hand ) but some old teacher forced him to write with his right hand.He did everything else with his left hand, tossing, throwing a ball etc.

  • @HattieLovesCattie I'm sort of the same way. I write left handed, but do other things right handed, such as kicking and throwing. I tend to balance better on my left foot. With skating, when I'm doing things such as crossovers, I feel that they are easier going counterclockwise. However with spinning, once I get it through my brain on what to do for each side, I'm fairly comfortable with spinning in either direction. Keep in mind that my spins are very beginner level two foot spins.

  • @jfluter Interesting,thanks for the info.:)

  • Respond to this video... At this point, I don't really know if I'll end up being clockwise or counterclockwise jumper because of my leftie/sometimes rightie brain. Personally, I think it would be awesome to jump and spin equally well in both directions. :)

  • was that a double or single? it looks like a double

  • @katrina07532

Hey sadly it is only single. Maybe I will get double this season....

  • @abigaload2 No, It wasn´t hard. The most important thing was to not be affraid. And if you make your first one, you won´t be affraid to try next ones.

  • really nice!

  • perfect. iam never seen that before

  • is that an outside rink? nice jump too :)

  • very nice!

  • Thank you! Axelt is one of my beloved jumps ;)

  • @SassyGirI really?? you love the jump i love my name xDDD
