  • You also forgot to say that first DNA Polymerase 1 comes in and glues the Okazaki fragments together, then the DNA ligase comes and fixes the last phospho bond.

  • I can't believe nobody picked up on the fact that she said this completely backwards! DNA replicates from the 5 prime end to the 3 prime end on the leading strand and the Okazaki fragments occur on the lagging strand because it's 3 prime to 5 prime and DNA replicates from 5 prime to 3 prime!

  • @IslandBlossom I did say that the okazaki fragments occur on the lagging strand, you have to listen carefully.

  • @fyishrad95 but you said that the leading strand is replicated from 3 prime to 5 prime which is WRONG. the lagging strand is replicated from 3 prime to 5 prime while the leading strand is replicated 5 prime to 3 prime. the rest of the video is good but you made you need to acknowledge that error you made because it's an important detail. just trying to help.

  • @fyishrad95 but @IslandBlossom is right, your orientation is off. Replication occurs from 5' to 3'. Important not to forget, especially when dealing with techniques like PCR!
