i have a delta 88 (1998) i bout in 99 with 21000 it sat 8 months cuz of the tranny wen i got tht new tranny in there tht muthafuckin started right the fuck no promblem those 3800 series 2 are beasts
I love your cars man. My first car was a '81 Buick Century that I got in 1999 with only 31k original miles (it was my grandma's so I know it never turned). I got it with original everything, brakes and battery. Coldest day of my life in western Massachusetts, 30 below, and it started right up didn't even give it gas or anything, with the original battery. I added a little water to it when I got it, that's it.
@kc19789 my girlfriend has one that was my mom's and mine before that, same year. None of the windows work (common problem) and the interior smells like mold so we're not going to bother fixing it, but it has 160k on it and the only thing ever done to that car was oil changes every like 10k, tires, brakes, rotors and the battery... oh and it got hit and had to replace a few headlamp fixtures, but that's not the car's fault at all! All in all that car has been EXTREMELY reliable
Awesome man! I had an 84 LeSabre for my first car and loved it despite it having being driven like a truck by the previous owner. I now own an 85 Collectors Edition (only 77k on the OD) and I am wondering if I may message you, asking about where I may be able to obtain certain parts that may be/are rare. I figured you would know having kept up with yours so well. Thank you for your time and awesome videos of that car!
Nice! Both cars are classic American beauties! And both of them are good runners. Buick with Olds 307 4BL carb and Caddy with Chevy 350 TBI motor. I'd love to have both of them.
I have a 1986 cadillac Fleetwood Brougham that has that exact engine. 4barrel carb and this awesome color of blue.. im the third owner original miles 67,245! very well maintained, and the guy who owned it he was um in his 70's he died last year and his daughter and son inlaw sold it for her mother. original stuff, i got to get a cam and make a video and cold start of this car . GREAT CADDY's AND THE BUICK !
@mercuryoak2, Sounds like an awesome piece of equipment you Got! Since you have a 307, seeing mine in my buick now you have an idea of how long it will be around for you delivering miles and miles of reliable service to you in your Cadillac. -BOGAR!
Brilliantly executed. I just wish I had enough money and knowledge to buy a V8 and work on it. But nicely executed, better than the Abram's tow truck driver who can to boost my mom's Montana SV6.
My grandfathers LeSaber has never sounded anything like yours but I can't figure out why. His is all stock and runs good but never sounded the way yours does @ 5:01 - 5:07
I can't wait to see that Brougham engine all cleaned up the way you always do it! It looks like its just dusty, damn thats gonna look sweet once you're thru with it!!!!
Careful there J though; according to the fuel gage; it looks like u just about have nothing left in the tank. But yea!! that is just AMAZING!!!!!! 317,00+ miles and all it took was some jumper cables, a couple pumps of the pedal, and a turn of the key and it came roaring to life. Now THAT!!! is IN-CRED-IBLE!!!! :)
Most of the fuel gages in these cars are pretty conservative, on top of the car having a 25 gallon tank. I've ran mine below E before and still had 3 gallons left in the tank
317,000 miles and it starts with just a little bump on the key. In-freakin-credible. So are the engine/tranny completely original or were they rebuilt at some point?
Ah, we haven't seen the Buick run in awhile. Good to see it come to life so easily! Great video!
My Lincoln has a phantom electrical draw too, so you can't let it sit more than a month.
I've also noticed that late 70s and early 80s Buicks share a similar dash setup. Yours is pretty close to my '85 Skylark which I've got a few videos of.
The 2 Interstate batteries in the Motorhome just died this year to, few months ago acually, they to were from 2003. Good batteries for sure! The ole Buick is ALIVE MUAHAHAHAHA!!!!! :D I can't believe how smoooooth that 350 idles in the Caddy, but I guess so with only 70k miles. Great vid BOGAR!
what got me is the gas gauge is buried on empty . it works?
mercuryoak2 2 months ago
if your letting the car sit unplug the radio/clock fuse it runs the battery dry it happened to me on my 83 lesabre estate wagon

That all digital dash is hideous...

@LuxeXx, I prefered the round Buick style over the horizontal Oldsmobile style or digital Cadillac styles too, but hey that's still a mad nice car
