  • worthless video i dont get it even when slow

  • who makes your guitar?

  • thats not the proper way to strum the strings. alternate picking..

  • what brand and model of

    acoustic is this?

  • thanks that was easey

  • Noob, wrong fingering. You don't stretch your third finger, you use your fourth. Expert Village must be run by idiots.

  • @CurtisAlfeld calm it man

  • @ItsGettingBetter1

they should at least know proper fingering

  • @CurtisAlfeld If it's comfortable for him, you have no reason to call him a noob. My pinky is retarded still so I will do what he does, however, I am learning to use my pinky.

  • @KungLaoMK sry but he IS using different fingering...i am not saying it's wrong maybe thats his style but it's best for you not to learn this fingering but normal one.

  • @Brsta7 yeah for the bottom 1st and 2nd he uses his his 3rd instead of 4th finger but its goood

  • Wow thanks I'm amazed at how easy this actually is!

  • wow i really wanted to see a commercial for clinique...

  • Really good teacher, enjoyed this a lot.....

  • this isnt hard to understand at all, what are you all complaining about?

  • see his fingers like he is licking his fingers everyday as its fingers contains juice

  • @AndrewBVB13 the strings and frets for acoustic and electric r the same they just have different sounds

  • i didnt understand its hard :(

  • If you really want to learn guitar listen to marty schwartz.

  • can't understand it properly...T_T

  • its shit

  • @AndrewBVB13 Aye its applicable to both kinds of guitar :O)

  • guitarmanual.typepad.com/blog/ beginning lessons

  • This guy's has adopted some bad habit's of playing guitar.

  • @AndrewBVB13 It's all the same.

  • NIce!

  • Why are you using the wrong finger for the 8th fret? It should be your 4th finger, not your 3rd.

  • @Lucid337 It's really what's every more natural for the guitarist.

  • @Lucid337 Ya, exactly what I was thinking. He's obviously picked up some bad habits. If I didn't know better I'd have made the same mistake learning from this guy.

  • fuck them words off...

  • @AndrewBVB13 no shit

  • i been playing for 5 months now and i dint learn the scales just like 5 chords and then i just played anything by tabs but i want to start learning the scales so i can play anything i want and improve so if some1 could give me any pointers that would be awsome

  • out of curiosity does anyone have any scale preferances out there like when i play g minor pentatonic and a minor pentatonic i have know problem coming up with stuff but when i play an e minor pentatonic i have a harder time coming up with material

  • if anyone is interested in learning ALL MAJOR SCALES IN ONE MINUTE, check out my channel!!!

  • w0o0o0oo0. This scale used in stairway to heaven solo......I guess!

  • wtf i cant even see all thos words in front of him

  • do u hav much harder lesson for me 2 learn..cuz i find it easy.. i just want 2 learn more..

  • i can do that now! ...just not as fast ¬_¬

  • good lesson!

    thanks teacher

  • this is really helpful ive been playing for a while but am not very good i need real practice and this has made it just that much better,Thanks

  • why is his hands shaking ????

    cheeeeeeeers.

  • for the strumming pattern, people might want to learn , up, down , up , down , up , down , up , down ,

not just down the whole time, its also faster , and you can work on gettin to play it faster

  • its called alternate picking if the word slipped your mind

  • thnx man...the other video dont explain correctly ..you explain clean..thnx 5 stars

  • and last point, playing a-minor like this is also the same notes for c-major. just miss the first note (a) and start on second note (c), so its both a-minor and c-major scale depending which note you make your root note :-)

  • also worth mentioning this is position 1, there are 5 in total and also can be played with extra notes to give it a fuller sounding scale, a-string add 6th and g-string add 8th :-) try it and see what you think, also practice scale with hammer ons and pull offs if using electric for good practise :-)

  • im guessing your self taught as my guitar teacher would slap my fingers for not using my pinkie finger and for not up/down picking lol

  • @andypandyhu you should use your pinky and down/up picking. speed and using your pinky will really help A LOT if you're going to learn the major scale, natural minor scale, (aeolian mode) and the other modes (ionian, dorian, phyrigian, lydian, mixolydian, locrian)

  • Great Lesson!

  • zoom zoom zoom

  • thats the scale jimmy page used for the solo on stairway to heaven

  • thnx for the lesson man, most vids i watch they expect u to know what they mean and u explain it well.. deff 5 stars..

  • cool 0:43

  • When you play around :34 you make me want of Chinese food.

  • @k8888us lol

  • @k8888us LOL @ Chinese food!!

  • @k8888us seriously

  • Wrong fingering...1 finger per fret??

  • his fingering was not wrong. when it came time to strike the note every finger was on the fret it was supposed to be on. there are actually a few times when you can have 2 fingers on one fret (i.e. sweep picking augmented power chords).

  • wicked guitar man.

  • Gee... Thanx! ^^

  • awesome. thanks a lot man.

  • Silly question, but..What are scales for, and what am I going to benefit from learning it?

  • Scales are used for writing, and improvising to songs, if you dont play in the scale, it will sound bad, so learning scales is really important to write songs, or make up stuff to other songs.

  • solos and leads

  • they are like chords...in a way, each scale has a "structure" and you compile them together to make a song but mainly for solos

  • Simple and clear for the purpose of the lesson, thank you!

  • hmm,im not usually a fan of epert village but this was semi-helpful

  • wait,dude,shuldnt you be strumming up and down?{is alternate strumming the right word here?}

  • actully when playin a guitar you dont got to play up and down i should know i play guitar

  • it depends on... like maybe the speed your playing. if ur playing pretty fast, you'd might need to use alternate picking coz you cant get the same speed as using alternate picking than just down picking

  • exactly drakulaman, when playing a faster chorus it is good too, and alternative picking is definately perferred for solos hahaha, i personally use the john petrucci technique with colos, which is alternative picking some of the solo and hamerons and pull offs also, kind of half and half and then everytime i leave that quick stroke of picking i leave on an upstroke, to give the string some slap, which is what JP does, just watch his how to play fast vid

  • haha listen at 1:00 "what we are gonna wanna do"

  • how important are scales?

  • thanks for the lesson! before this i had no idea how to do any scales

  • What is a "NOOB" is that some ebonics bullshit! Are you making up words Mr.Webster??

  • Oh! Well, arent you the height of intelligence. That was a very thought out reply to someone asking a question. You waste of sperm! your daddy should have wipped you from the crack of yo mamma's ass and saved them YEARS of embarresment!

  • now im so sad wwaaaah. you your very funny you should be a comedian. fucking noob

  • yo, theres no need to name call on things like that, yo it doesnt matter if you use a pinky or not, heck, its up to the player.

  • i thought penta means 5 and tonic means note but its not five notes its 12 im confused

  • no its 5 diffrent notes in the scale, because there are more than one of the same note used,

  • are your fingers ment to mute the string that is below the string your playing

  • brilliant

  • thanks very much i just brought my guitar yesterday and i am learning so thanks very much m8

  • This helped me more than you could possibly know. I already knew the scales but this cleared up a big question I had about scales in different keys. Thanks.

  • this is not correct... the pattern is in the key of A minor or C major.. not an A pent scale at all... the last 5 seconds you say A minor... this is how people get confused dude

  • Can you prove that? Cause it looks correct to me...compare it to any number of other you tube lessons. They all say the same thing...I don't think they're all wrong.

  • It is correct. Dude, thats an a minor pentatonic

  • second comment w00t -.-
