Windows Vista vs Windows XP for Gaming

The biggest problem of vista is that many people buy a vista "Capable" laptop with 1 GB ram and that is not enough. 2 GB is good for normal use and 4 GB for gaming. Another problem is the driver issues but that will be fixed with windows update and the service packs. Vista works good on a pentium 4 with 2 GB ram. :). XP is an unique OS. It just requires about 512 mb ram .

Actually, it's way more than the gaming.

A lot of work and supported software will happen to be bogus on Vista and not on XP. Not only Vista sucks dick when it comes to gaming, but it also sucks dick when it comes to work elements, such as drivers for your hardware, and etc etc....

XP will only support DX9.

XP doesn't support modern graphics, physics and lighting effects because DX9 can't handle it. Windows 7 is true 64bit and is optimized for PC gaming.

Couple times I install XP on my new pc...and believe me or not....XP was not stable, so I return Vista and everything is normal and stable.

Windows Vista has DirectX 10, and if you have a DX10 card, or ATI's DX 10.1, then get vista because DX10 and DX 10.1 cards dont run that well on DX9 based games sometimes

windows vista would be incredible if it supported all of the drivers for games. I have 7 computers and 6 of them have Windows XP and 1 of them have Windows Vista. The Window's Vista computer that I have, the picture on it is incredible compared to Windows XP but Windows XP supports more games though. Windows Vista is more about looks rather than performance. Window's XP is just an older software so it doesn't look as good as Windows Vista.

XP is a far better OS for gaming. Vista is way too bloated and you need far more hardware to get the same performance in XP. gaming companies won't go to just directx10 because they know that a vast majority of systems still run XP.
