I can only imagine being at this concert. When the lights went out and Brian came thundering in, full distortion, you knew Queen was about to musically kick your ass.
Why do people always feel compelled to compare musicians in a child-like manner? These aren't athletes where you're comparing stats. Just enjoy all the music and stop hating! You will enjoy your life a lot more.
Farrokh Bulsara..... perfect voice, classically trained on the piano, songwriter, designed Queens logo......collector of Japanese art..Beautiful,shy sweet and yes ...sexy... part of something so perfect. Brian May Guitar Master Brilliant song writter, Roger Taylor great on drums and that falsetto John Deacon wrote some of Queen's most memorible songs and amazing bass player..I miss your presence Freddie Mercury..I admire how you lived..and died on your terms.Glad I got to see Queen LIVE
Think maybe Freddie had a thing for bondage? I like to think so!! Nobody does it better. I was lucky enough to see them live 3 times, the last time in 81 - had 5th row seats!!!! Oh, man I think I floated home (figuratively & literally)! Love you Queen. Love you Freddie. Miss you Freddie. You guys are the best!!!
@handel1111 Yes. There where problems with Freddie's mic. Probably the main reason why this concert never was officialy released. They should do though, I think. This is one of their best and most legendary concerts ever!!!
We need to somehow get a petition going to get some of these concerts released on DVD they're so raw and amazing. I wish instead of the AB GREATEST they had released some of their less known songs on the CD like stuff off the earlier albums etc. They're so bloody good.
i've been listening to Queen since i was 14. they were the first real rock band i ever got into. this footage shows exactly why they're the Best! there will never be another band like them ever... there can be only one!
This was the very first concert I ever went to, at the age of 13, I remember them opening with this....and it's STILL the greatest moment of my life!!
@katihannah I completely sin and covet your experience! My BIGGEST regrete EVER was not to see them live. The memories interspersed of their music in my youth warms my heart to the core.
i saw th em 4 time in concert. I almost caught freddie's tamborine her threw into the audience. My first Rockstar crush and my always rockstar crush. Got into rock and roll cause of Queen (drummer here) Roger taylor is a classy drummer my idol..
This is strange how i got into Queen. LOL! I was 16 at the time, and they were introduced on Dick clark's american bandstand (VIDEO OF COURSE) Queen doing 'somebody to love' ( i never heard the song)..I missed it because i had to go to the store. When i came back i ask my mom who was on American bandstand?? She said ' a really good band called , Queen" She said the lead singer had an very good voice...and his teeth were very buck..QUEEN.. what a cool name..got the album..HOOK4FRICKENLIFE!!
There will NEVER in a thousand lifetimes be another QUEEN!! As a young girl of 12, the Osmonds, and Jackson 5 were in their prime...but along came Queen to teach me of a Rock n Roll Love I will never know this way again. Happy Belated Freddie~YOU LIVE ON AND ON
Friggin' awesome, they need to release this officially and just replace Freddie's vocals from another night or something. Tech probs happen, why are there so many crappy concerts vids out and not this?!?!?!?!?
I've been following Queen since 1975 and this is by far the best live version of this song I've heard/seen captured on tape! I saw them on this tour at the Louisville Gardens in Louisville KY and this lives up to my memory of the show.
Thin Lizzy opened for them and it's still to this day the best concert I've ever seen Queen were amazing!
John, Brian, Roger and Freddie at the end of the Day at the Races tour. This show plus Houston 1977 should be released on DVD next. Fans in the States would buy this in a heartbeat as the American Queen fans loved the 1970s era Queen with a passion. IMHO, Queen's best live period was 1977-81. I have this ROIO on CD and what a show. Queen at their best. The 1982-87 period was them at its weakest IMHO!
You are right, Bono is only a good singer, he can not be compared to Freddie. Bono should be a politician, he knows nothing of politics and likes to be at the media.
@nigio10 Dude boner isnt shit ,,U2 has put out some good stuff. but Freddie was a hell of a lot bigger talent.. I was fortunate to see the real queen live a view times in the late 70's early 80's
This is one of Queens best versions of this song that I've seen. Full of energy. You have to play this song at just the right tempo. Queen nailed it on this one.
I saw these guys at the Los Angeles Forum in 1978 and they were Fuckin unbelievably loud loud LOUD. I haven't heard a louder concert yet and I've seen them all.

Awesome! It's a little brighter than the one I have...you can see the lights rising up at the beginning a little better...I wonder if they ever got good footage of the crown above though (?)....

I'd like to second that. there are very FEW drummers, I incorporate parts of their songwriting and/or playing techniques....Rodger is
one of 'em. Very regal player.
If I may suggest an interesting team..VERY much like John and Rodger...check out youtube------ Hooker houston I'm Lookin

Yes!!! There were some technical problems with his mic. One of the reasons why they didn't release this concert on video and DVD.

they are perfectionists in everything they do.
just because they didn't like about 5% of the camera shootings at their very last show at knebworth park they didn't release it:)
I really like that site of Queen. one of the reasons why they are what they are:)
