hey so i've done ballet since i was 5 and stopped just before i got onto pointe so like when i was 10 or 11 but i'd like to go back now (im 13 now) is it possible to go to the class that i was in after 2-3 years ?
I'm 16 when I started ballet, and I regret it sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much that I didn't start earlier!! I'm 17 now and I'm on pointe shoes and everyday I love ballet more and more. If I could be a ballet dancer that would be really one of my biggest dream. But for now I enjoy every second and I try to be as good and advanced as possible eventhough I will never go the way of becoming a professional
@TheSupercookies99 If you work hard to develop your technique and artistry you could become a professional. Each dancer is different, so they have different paths in dance.
@dfc5359 Walnut Hill is located in Natick, Massachusetts. We are 18 miles west of Boston. Yes, students must audition as part of the application process. Please give us a call 508.650.5020, or visit our website for more information!
I'm 14 years old. I trained very hard when I was little, for a couple of years. Then I stopped. But, now I'm practicing every day 'bout 3 hours, am I able to be professional?
@ThePrimaBallerinaz If you work really hard you may still be able to be a professional dancer. Everyone is different in their pursuit of professional ballet.
Seeing so many different body types in this advanced class is a great source of encouragement to me because I can see myself in some of them, where I want to be as a dancer.
What style of ballet is this? It looks very similar to Cecchetti, but I noticed that a lot of the head positions were more profiled than turned and inclined. But the exercises are very similar to what I practice at the studio I go to (I study Cecchetti)
@googles1717 Walnut Hill focuses on pure, classical technique with an emphasis on core strength and proper placement. We do not teach one specific style, rather a mixture of many.
Yes, we have a 5-week summer intensive from July 2-August 7. We begin our National Audition Tour on January 15th. Check out our website for audition dates and times. We do also accept DVD auditions.
i am level 5 now, but i take some level 4 classes. It looks like a different method in this video, The method at my studio is Balanchine, whats this method?
@7agplace7 This not one particular technique. Walnut Hill trains in the classical tradition focusing on proper placement. Many of our teachers were Balanchine trained, so it is a large part of the technique Walnut Hill teaches. Hope this helps answer your question!
Molto molto Bene....Ma c'è una ragazza di cui si vedono solo le braccia che ha lo smalto nero o blu...Cmq oltre questo i ragazzi sono tutti bravissimi...anche quella con lo smalto...ahahah
What a wonderful class, what an excellent teacher! I'm from Brazil and I started taking ballet classes 3 months ago... I wish my classes were as good as this one! Your videos will certainly help me a lot! Thanks for posting and congratulations!
@isthatmarcee It really is best to either call (508.650.5020) or email (the address is on the channel page) the admission office and we can talk with you further and discuss your personal situation.
I recently directed my 11-12 years old ballet students to check them out. It's a spectacular learning tool for them to see well-trained dancers working in a class setting (as opposed to a performance setting, which is so foreign to what they know). There are no advanced ballet students at the studio I'm teaching at (though I'm working on building some! :p ), so it's very helpful for the little ones to see what their hard work can one day turn into!
@MissAmeliaM - All of these students are high school aged and had prior experience before coming to Walnut Hill to study ballet.
