  • C418 should have 100,000 subs for his work in Minecraft alone...

  • Who is Droopy, C418?

  • C418 I love your style in this. Brilliant.

  • Love it! Would be nice if we could select from several music packs in the settings.

  • The way you contrast everything is just beautiful.

  • As a homemade music tinkerer influenced by 8 bit nintendo games, I really like everything that you do.

  • The music seems very good. I absolutely love the Indoor/Outdoor effect, gives it a very admiring effect. The only thing which seems a tad bit out of place is the music that plays during that interesting blue screen stage, just doesn't flow too good with the rest of the sounds. Not terribly, but not exactly great. Overall I think you have this in the bag buddy.

  • Love it! I would play this game just for the music/sounds.

  • Cool. I like the start, and the main gameplay music. I'm sure if there was a budget, music would be added to the near top of the list. It's only because the budget is zero, that the payment is a percentage of that (answer left as an exercise to the reader).

  • I think you guys are crazy. The music sounds great. I think it fits fine.

  • Love love love the menu sounds in this. Amongst many, many other things. :)

  • love C418, but I kind of hope the dev gives the gig to a deserving composer who hasn't already had a big breakthrough

  • like always, youre work is great :)

  • I love the first areas music.

  • I think all tracks are great, except I strongly feel that the "chiptune saw signal" present in couple tracks doesn't fit to this game. Nice initiative!

  • Wtf is this game?! O_o

  • Gunpoint, A new awesome indie game. @Jourei91

  • Love how it sounds. :D

  • @C418 - I thought it was great. Pretty much what I had in mind. I'll probably finish my own version before listening to yours a second time, so i don't end up plagiarizing accidentally. :D

  • Sounds good brah :]

  • Stimmig und passend. Jefällt ma, jeht ab.

  • the song is a bit too modern maybe, kinda lacks the fun of the game, but does a good thing with the detective feel and some parts just remind me of minecraft way too much=)

  • C418, big fan of your music bro. Keep up the good work whatever you do!

  • I think the sound fits nice...definitely fits. Shame you won't be working the soundtrack for the game.

  • wonderful

  • I don't know what kind of compositional elements you need in certain games, but I think that this sounded very well rounded, and very suitable for this game. I would quite enjoy playing the game with this soundtrack.

  • No guard in the building.

Facing a fully functional door on the ground floor.

Decided to jump out of the window.

    Detective Drama Queen.

  • Seems pretty good. Fairly suiting. I would be okay with this as the soundtrack.

  • Great stuff, I feel like the volume should be down a bit though. Just because it's more of a stealthy type game, so the music should be quieter to fit.

  • First stage and the third stage sounded good, the third one seemed to kill the atmosphere.

  • I really liked this, it would fit great in the game imo

  • Some parts actually sound kinda megaman ish

  • I love it! Good job!

  • Nice job :) I like how the beginning feels both ambient and mischevious. It fits in really well with the rain SFX.

  • @supershigi thanks for looking at this game shigi, i never heard of this game before,it looks cool ^_^

  • I love the way this sounds, especially how the layers are built up as you move around the level. I am a bit concerned that you're worried about the pay though :/ I appreciate that you need money to eat, but isn't being paid just a little bit to make the music for one of the coolest indie games this year enough? Personally, if I had your (incredible) musical talent, I'd take this on as a hobby. End totally personal opinion. Anyway, I hope this at least inspires some awesomeness for the game.

  • @SeLlamanGorillaz Just out of curiosity, would you feel this same way if the developer ended up selling the game?

  • @supershigi Very good question. If I were in that situation, I would maybe want a small cut of the profit, not a lump-sum payment up front... If the game goes big, you get paid sufficiently and it doesn't hurt the wallet of the developers. Again, this is a totally subjective thing, but I hope that answers your question.

  • I actually really like what you've done here. The changes in music to match the game seem to be the way to go. I hope this inspires something great for Gunpoint.

  • honestly, you should have made the music for this game xD lol

  • neat

  • Although you say you're not really that interested, I'd love to see this in the game. It just sounds right, it feels right, it's excellent.

  • can i plz have ur babbies

  • Impressive. Enjoy the music in Minecraft, and this feels right for this game. I haven't seen any other videos done with the music yet though, so I'm not sure that I would give my vote. I definitely would enjoy this music in the game though.

@MrJacko552: He is contemplating charging for it. I would love to grab this in Steam for $5-$10. And he's asking for help in making a Linux version, which is a good sign, not wanting to do Linux is the main prevention of a dev doing a Humble Bundle. :(

  • In a world... Without fall damage...

  • @minirobot1 Apparantly the world does have fall damage, but the awesome trench coat somehow negates it

  • @minirobot1 basically like portal then

  • @tokiokikokiss Can you elaborate?

  • @C418 I dunno about that guy, but it seems far more ambient/modern-electronic than the atmosphere of the game itself. I had imagined the soundtrack to be similar to that of a tongue-in-cheek detective film, but that's just me. Could be wrong, but if I ever get time I might give this a shot too.

    Neat music by itself though!

  • @flibitijibibo Yes, my initial attempt was to have some sort of cliché detective music. The first song is like the last fragments of it. After that I thought however that I love contrasts, and decided to give it some.

  • @C418 It started of pretty good and continue to do so when you're outside, but around 0:40 the music went ambient as shit and I really didn't think it suited the game what so ever. As well as the blip-blop when you're in crosslink-mode, same here, it just seemed wrong and out of place. I do like how the music transitioned smoothly when guards started checking out noise. Overall I feel it lacks a bit to much noir-/ detectivy-feeling.

  • @tokiokikokiss I completely agree with this. The Crosslink mode music especially just seems wrong. I do like the Outside music though.

  • haha cool

  • Really love how Cross link = On/Off and Indoors/Outdoors change the sound. Fantastic stuff, great all round listening too.

  • very decent, the musics atmospheric and entertaining at the same time.

  • This is SICK! Your awesome C418!

  • The dev is giving the game away for free, and everyone involved is making no money, and is just doing it in their spare time. i don't think anyone is being payed, at all.

  • :seemslegit:

  • Never mind the fantastic thematic music, the reactive nature of the music engine you've designed through example is nothing short of brilliant!

  • Looks like a great game...

...only wish this would be the actual soundtrack.

  • Classy! I like it! :)

  • This game looks awesome, and your score fits perfect with it. Did you do all the sounds too?

  • @nonadhesivegaming The sounds where already in the game. It was just missing the music.

  • Me Wantsta!

  • Sounds alright. reminds me of the splinter-cell ambient a bit.

  • Dat c418

  • If I were the dev I would seriously consider hiring you for this! Very cool!

  • Well done sire! You done it well!

  • oh hai

  • It does look cool!

  • what game is that

  • @dakotaV45 Gunpoint
