thank you for posting this! my ap history class has us doing a diary entry,on our reaction to this chat, through the eyes of someone from the time. our teacher posted a link to the text, but to get the full extent of a fireside chat, i think you need to listen. this really helped me get into character. thank you again!

Thank God for Franklin Delano Roosevelt! He was a sure and certain beacon through the storms that faced humanity in his day. He understood what Hitler was all about and that he must be prevented from conquering Europe. The guy was totally balanced and on the side of right. Would to God that we had a man of a tenth his strength running the United States today.
