We do agree with Sam that religion is failed science. What he means is simply religion attempted to explain all things, in fact, it claimed to know everything, while it knows nothing at all. The bible claimed for centuries that the Earth was flat, stationary and that the Sun revolved around the Earth, and the church burned scientists to death for saying the Earth revolved around the Sun. religion wanted Earth to be the center of everything, a giant failure based on opinion, not Science. In our Internet Age of instantaneous communications, waiting for the process of factual Science and common sense to win out over religious dogma is not something I'm willing to wait out at the current pace. If impatience is a sign of youth, then call me a youngin'. I see the endgame and I want to get there now. Religion is no longer a tolerable cute distraction of civilization; it's an abjectly nonsensical waste of life, money and the finite natural resources of this earth.

It is about time this tattered stuffed animal carted around by so many insecure humans go in the bin, It's caused too much horror. And the astonishing thing is, like Ted Bundy, or any "practicing" sociopath, it's entirely unaware of its own actions, past and present. religion is the model of insanity, undeniably. It is scary to have such a prevalence of this silliness.
You sound like a militant atheist. Rushing the process will only lead to an increase in violence. Look at Islam, they see the "endgame" a future where everyone bows down to Allah and they seem to be winning with the introduction of Sharia law to many non-Islamic countries.
You are right religion is a plague and needs to be eradicated, but rushing it's eventual demise is not a good idea, plus it makes us seems like the bad guys.
