Don't support a club. But I support England, and the English clubs in Europe.

International football appeals to me because you can't just buy stars. We can't just go out and buy a top keeper, we're stuck with who we've got and we have to support them.

My definition of an assist is if a player passes to another player and in doing so giving that player the goal scoring opportunity to get the goal. For me, an assist is not where a player might shoot and the shot takes 3 or 4 deflections and then hitting the post and then defender tries to clear it but the oncoming striker follows it in.

Agreed, but for me, if its acidental like Gerrards 'asisst' agaist kasakhstan away then its not an assist. Say for example Lampard tries to pass to Rooney but instead his pass rebounds off a defender and falls into Heskeys feet where he knocks it in, that wud not be a assist for Lampard.

Personally, I would give it. Whether it's an accident or not doesn't matter to me, they still assisted, whether they meant to or not.

Question for you, if that Ukranian had rounded Green and scored, would you have given an assist to the guy that smacked the ball up the pitch? I would. I know it's just a clearance, not a pass, but he would still have been the provider.
