  • @Rockr21190 I know the Python got scrapped. However I did hear the one of Pyrhon's trains did get shipped to BGE for use on Nessie.

  • Parts is not an issue. Premier Rides makes parts for all arrow rides. Python was scrapped. It was not sent to BGE. Loch ness is not going anywhere. BGE takes very good care of it.

  • Miss this ride it was better than the scorpion which is the next coaster to be gone from busch gardens! Just hope they dont put another kiddie coaster in it place like they did with the python and replace it with cheetah chase.

  • RIP

  • lol this coaster was ASS and so is scorpion

  • @SausageFrosted That's your opinion, but keep in mind that this coaster was built in 1977. It was the first coaster to invert riders in the southeast and it was state of the art at that time. The Scorpion was built in 1980 and is one of the coasters built by Anton Schwarzkopf that is still around. This coaster is also one of only a few looping coasters in the world that doesn't have OTSRs (over the shoulder restraints). The Scorpion is really quite an intense coaster for it's size.

  • @SausageFrosted The Scorpion is also still quite popular with the public which is a real testament for it's age.

  • RIP :'''''''''''''( my first roller coaster D:

  • the python was removed? damn..i shouldve went on it..now my chance is gone D:!! why was i such a whimp ):

  • rip python....scorpion u r next :(

  • I hope they kept the trains to provide Loch Ness some spare parts. After Big Bad Wolf's retirement,( just a few months before a Chinese firm started making Arrow clones and parts) If they close Loch Ness, I'm giving up on Busch Gardens.

  • @Scioneer I did hear somewhere that they were shipped over to BGE for just that purpose. I rode Nessie yesterday and it's very possible I was riding on parts of the old Python.

  • wow

  • woooooow lol

  • python 1975 was the year

  • @popetzm Actually it's listed opening date is July, 1, 1976 and it closed forever on October, 31, 2006. It was a rather uncerimoniously closed that day by allowing all the park employees to take one last ride on the Python after the park closed for the night. All my video of the Python, including my Python Tribute video was shot the day before it closed.

  • @theimdoinurmom They did. The Python was removed in 2007 to make way for Jungala

  • @woodencoasterfan and sheikra if im not mistaken.

  • @TH3BEAST512 That was a different part of the park. Sheikra and Python were opperating at the same time for about two years before the Python was removed.

  • @woodencoasterfan really ? did not know that. but yeah got over my fear of coasters today! (: kumba is my official first REAL roller coaster, ive been on Rockin roller coaster, and scorpian but you know what i mean.

  • BG is givingkids to many chances, first it's seasmae street then jungala.

it used to be:you don't ride anything untill your 48 in. which i liked.

    and jung''gay''la sucks

  • Busch Gardens Tampa ROCKS!!!!!

  • @MsAwesomedude123 thats air grover new for 2010...how big?

  • This coaster was a classic, first looping metal coaster in the southeast I think, yeah its short compared to Kumba and Montu but its still better than Jungala. I'm going to B.Gardens this Tuesday and plan to ride the scorpion a few times. Its the next oldest and will probably get closed soon for some new attraction.

  • @Salamanderman117 No, the Wabash Cannonball opened at Opryland (Nashville, TN) a year earlier.

  • @Salamanderman117 i don't think so. the scorpion may be old but it still draws huge crowds and is still pretty popular and well liked. and it's great for kids who are just starting off with coasters because it only has a 42" height requirement

  • @Salamanderman117 I would hope that even if they were to close down Scorpion, they would find some place for it. Even for an old coaster, it is still pretty fun. I mean BGE could probably use an extra attraction there, Scorpion would be a nice fit for there [provided they can find the space for it].

  • wow.. they let you stand that close!?

  • They shure did, that's actually where the exit pathway for the ride was. The fence was far ehnough back to where nobody could get anywhere near the ride though. Unfortunately, the Python was removedand the whole area was rethemed in 2007 in favor of Jungala, a giant treehouse like play place for kids with zip lines, climbing structures, restaraunts, animal viewing areas, and a small launch tower.

  • and jungala is boring the launch tower is soo slow

    sheikra is still awesome

  • @woodencoasterfan

Psh screw that they need to tear down Jungala now and build a new coaster (I know there is a coaster being built now but still. they should build a flying coaster.). :P just sayin. They already have Elmo all over the park.

  • yeah, this exact ride is at canobie lake park in nh as well

  • I so miss this ride... So many Memories........

  • this ride use to be da shit when i was like 6

  • RIP pyton and those peps who close pyton tere retarded

  • R.I.P PYTHON

    GREAT VIDEO 5/5

  • The Python is what is known as a clone of another. Arrow Dynamics manufactured this type of ride which for it's time was very popular. In fact, this one was a clone of the original at Knotts Berry Farm in Los Angeles which was the first modern steel coaster to go upside down. It's worth menchioning that this coaster was built not long after the one at Knott's was built. Less than a year after I believe.

  • i like this ride too bad they had to take it down

  • Python was a cool ride but I love the sheikra . I think it's better then the Python because It's a challenge. 200 Feet up , 90 degree's straight down. That's amazing. The python was fun but If it didn't go, We wouldn't have the Sheikra. There will always be better rides in Busch Gardens, At least we had fun with the Python and I'm sorry to those who haven't got a chance to ride it because it was awesome. At least we have this vid as a memory of the ridee . R.I.P Python =[[

  • The Python and the Sheikra were in the park at the same time.. they took it away to put in Jungala o_O That would of been cool if they could of put the python as part of Jungala and you could go through the corkscrews or something :I

  • i miss this ride, but jungala is a cool place for kids who can't ride roller coasters yet. and also busch gardens still has may great coasters: sheikra, kumba, ect.

  • why did they close it?

  • honestly, it was really lame and dated. the ride was about as rough as a wooden roller coaster. it was small and not very popular as well. it didn't compare to the new state-of-the-art roller steel coasters (Kumba, Montu, SkeiKra) that Busch Gardens had built. it didn't even compare to Scorpion (also a small and oldsteel coaster, but better aged). yeah, it may be historic, but otherwise, there's not a whole lot to like.

  • i liked this ride, i went in 2006

  • jungala fuckin sucks lets start a petition to get python back!

  • Unfortunately, the Python was sold for scrap. It's probably already been recycled into something else :(

  • those bastards ¬_¬ fine ill fuckin buy python myself and put it in my backyard 50p a ride :DDDD

  • if they didnt close the python the shiekra wouldnt exist so i wouldnt do a pitition to get python back because the python compared to the shiekra is a baby ride

  • Sheikra was built in 2005 and the Python was demolished in 2007 just a few months after Sheikra had the floorless conversion done.

  • WHAT IT WAS DOMINISHED? the last time i was there was a year ago and I whink i was one of the last peeps to ride it. Why was it taken down?

  • It actually closed in November of 2007, I shot this video the day before it closed. They turned the whole area into Jungala, a treehouse play area for the kids who are too old for the toddlers area (Land of Dragons) but aren't yet tall enough for the thrill rides.

  • The entrance to the Python went right under the track just as the track makes the turn back to the station.

  • long wait 2 second ride.... glad they took it down but replaced with gay jungala lol.

  • this roller coaster sucked everything bad

    there was only one train

    a 40 minute wait

and the ride is only 10 seconds long

kumba, montu, sheikra, and gwazi r way better

  • They actually did run two trains on it till the late 80's. Don't forget that this coaster was 30 years and one month old when they tore it down and It was the first coaster to go upside down (invert) in the Southeastern US when it opened in '77. It was also wildly popular back then as well.

  • i never got to ride this they demolished it before i could ever go on it

  • i never really liked this one

the line ups were really long, and the ride was too short, just a couple loops and its over.. i hope they replace it with something good

  • They already have and it's called Jungala. They rethemed the whole Congo area. It's a play area for the kids that are too tall for the Land of Dragons (toddlers area) but aren't tall enough for the big thrill rides.

  • aww this was my first roller coaster

    it was really rough though

but it was still pretty cool

  • its just like loch ness moster

  • Not really, if you're reffering to Nessie at Busch Gardens Europe, Nessie is the nickname the coaster enthusiasts have given the Loch Ness Monster. They were made by the same company, Arrow Dynamics and carry the same paint scheme and are sit down coasters. Other than that, they're completely different. The Python has only two corkscrew inversions and that's it where as Nessie has two interlocking loops which are unique to this ride only, it's much higher, has two lifts and...

  • three flat spins in a tunnel, also known as Nessie's Lair. Not to mention it's much, much smoother than the Python ever was.

  • No wonder I have Not seen it at b gardens!?

  • I'm so glad it's gone!

  • I heard busch gardens recycled 100% of this coaster.

  • rough as crap!!!!!

  • Yeah, the python was just rough all over. It used to be so rough that it began with the head banging against the headrest when the when the train started climbing the lift. but they fixed that problem about a year or two before it closed. This one was also one of the first times I've ever gone upside down on a coaster.
