  • Still a slow 2V Mustang.

  • @Quatermain98526 u call it slow but not many cars stock that runs 200+hp that can do 0 to 60 in less than 5sec

  • @cobra5405 The Corvette ZR1 has 200+hp and does 0-60 in 3.3 seconds.

  • @Quatermain98526 ...2011 zr1 = 638hp @ redline (@ the crank)...2013 shelby 670hp @ redline (@ the crank)...

  • @Quatermain98526 ...sorry wrong person, haha...but i guess u got some free info...haha

  • @cobra5405 This car may be quick to 60, but after that it gets pretty slow.

  • Do you have any track times to compare stock to after 4:10 installation?

  • @mrdragking13 I dunno about 135 in 3rd, because my car shifted at 120 earlier today with the pedal all the way down. It's stock.

  • @Noahsebb88 did you have o/d off? Cause with my auto stock gt 3rd tops out @ 135 mph. No lie.

  • @mrdragking13 I literally realized that right after I posted, but I couldn't be bothered with deleting the comment. No, O/D was not off.

  • The speedo cannot be calibrated right....

  • 3.27s in an auto= 1st 45 mph, 2nd 85 mph, 3rd 135 mph, can someone tell me what would be the mph with 4.10s??? please

  • s...l...o...w

  • @prescomp N..........o.

  • @500erider y...e..a...h.....

  • @prescomp b..u..l..l..s..h..i..t.

  • @500erider i`m serious

  • @prescomp I know, man,it's not the fastest thing in the world, but I was just having a little youtube fun with you.Thought it was funny the way you typed slow.LOL!!!!!

  • @500erider thats ok,thanks.. later..

  • that was 0-50 if you didnt fix your speedo

  • Is that an automactic? At 70 mph what are ur rpms showing?

  • Wow. wanna get smacked by my lightning? hahahhah

  • why does my stock geared convertable get to 60 way faster then the 4.10 in this vid?

  • What'd you have to do to correct the speedometer?

  • @91CTD speedometer calibration tool.

  • That was like 6-7 seconds lol

  • @scopez4u yes its a shorter final gear drive. improves acceleration.

  • @scopez4u Gears in the rear end, yes it's a mod gets you to the redline faster then stock gears 4.10's are for better acceleration and low top end.

  • 7 secs.

  • Fixing to make a video of normal driving with the 4.10's

  • what should i set my shift points too with 410s in a 2004 auto mustang gt?

  • i have a 96 mustang gt with a auto tranny and in the diffrential tag its says 3L27 does this mean it has 3.27 gears???do 96 mustangs come with 3.27s from factoey

  • @cobraj7 Yes it does, most 8.8's come from the factory with 3.27's unless you special order the gear set or you have something like the BULLITT that comes with 3.73's from the factory. Then again, that is part of the package.

  • What is the rpms at 50 55 and 60

    Thanks, Greg

  • ya and jon forces mustang runs 3's

  • 3.55 less accel. more top speed

3.73 good mix accel and top speed

4.10 more accel less top speed

This is the usual in most street cars

  • ya sure? i just bought a vortech supercharger kit for it.

  • I have a question! If ya can help I have a 95 ford crwn vic with - custom basani x pipe, couple sensor changes for few more horse power! I have a custom 2. 5 pipe ran all the way back from my headers to tips! 4" tips - Throttle body change with 75mm spacer and came with interceptor package! Its pretty cool and quick and sounds great! My question is I just bought some 4.10 gears to put in what do you think it's going to do? It's not going to hurt anything other than gas milage right?

  • 4.10 is best for auto tranny and 4.10 for manual with minor bolt-on...superchaging or turbo depend on the actual detail spec.... 4.10 will get better mileage in the city but higher rpm at highway speed and little noisy... but u can chirp the tires in all gears !!!

  • i have a 97 gt..what gears would be best for performance? and which would be better for mpg?

  • @leagacy23 automatic or manual? manual go with 3.73. auto go with 4.10 the higher gear ration the worse gas mileage cause the rpms will stay higher

  • auto sadly lol. but thanks for the reply

  • @leagacy23 no problem man, any more questions ill try to help out...

  • i got an 04 GT with 3.73's. I get 30mpg highway. I must have more mods than this guy though cuz my car pulls to 60 faster than that

  • is that an auto and if so what are your rpms at 70 to 80 mph .

  • 80mph I am right at 3000rpm

  • I got an 8.71 with stock gears. I'd love to see what 4.10s would do for me. :)

  • if you dont run drag radials of some sort then they might slow you down do to there ability to spin like crazy!

  • 3.73's and 4.10's will actually spin a lot less than stock gears.. Simple logic would make you think otherwise, but that is not true.

Example: a 3.73:1 ratio takes 3.73 rotations of the driveshaft to spin the axle once. 4.10:1's take 4.10 rotations of the driveshaft to spin the axle once.

It's not too easy to explain, but, with a higher ratio, there's essentially less friction to overcome.

With 3.73's, the axle is spinning less, yet the engine is accelerating, that's self explanitory.

  • You've actually got it wrong. If you had 4.10's, your motor would complete a little more than 4 revolutions make your wheels turn one revolution. The steeper the gear ration the more revolutions of the motor going into just that 1 turn of the wheel/ axle. The more torque/ power being placed to the wheels the harder it is to get it all to "hook" to the pavement.

  • You're wrong, but you can think what you'd like. Like I said SIMPLE logic for your SIMPLE mind would make you think otherwise.

More rotations to make the rear axle spin due to 4.10's translates to LESS rotations of the axle COMPARED TO 3.73's

What does that all mean? It means that you have a reduced speed in that specific gear, the engine has to wind up more to get that axle spinning at the same speed, compared to a lower gear.

  • I understand though. All over Youtube you see kids saying, "Oh man, you spin like crazy with 4.10's!" When that is completely false.

Take whatever car you've got to the drag strip on stock gears. Then, replace stock gears with 4.10's. You will see reduced spinnage, and better 60' times.

I wouldn't blurt this shit out if I had it incorrectly.

4.10's take more rotations of the driveshaft to spin the axle once, hence 4.10, 4.10 rotations. If you think about it, you'll understand.

  • My bad, i thought those old cummings had the inline6 all motor, the newer rams like the 98-2000+ come with the beefy holset HY and HX series turbo that i have in my car at 27pounds. i have the hy35.

  • Its easy to explain. 3.73 is a lower number than 4.10. What sounds more powerful to you? 2 spins of the motors power or 5 spins of the motor's power both going into one spin of the wheels/ axle? Yes you will make MUCH better 60's if the car can hook it all up.

Want proof? My GT went from 3.23 to 4.10 and guess what? I don't fully "hook" on street tires... I can chirp 3rd now.

Tell me why do ALL these guys spend all this money for steeper gears? To go slower? No, your just wrong.

  • You're wrong, buddie. No matter what you say, you're making yourself look more and more clueless by the comment.

Your personal experience is proof? Yeah, I went to the moon in a Prius, after launching off of a 5 foot ramp.

Stock GT's will chirp third gear, you moron.

More revolutions of the engine just to make the axle spin once means less rapid acceleration, actually.

With a lower gear, the transmission is trying to make the vehicle pick up more speed, in less time.

  • Interesting how all my friends with Cobras, Camaros, Mustangs, classic Oldsmobiles, new Chargers... all had a harder time hooking up. This isn't some proof to my points its reality. Its harder to hook with steeper gears. Thats just how it works despite all the BS you've rehearsed over and over again.

  • stock GT's won't chirp third with good tires maybe tires with 25% tread left. I had a 98 GT with stock gears and i couldnt chirp 3rd even when power-shifting, with good tires and don't say "you can't drive" like everyone else says. My little Honda Del Sol chirps tires all the way to 4th on bald tires doesnt mean I'm going anywhere.

  • TPena92, this is where you're even more wrong. Just quit digging yourself in deeper.

The less tread, the less likely it is that you'll chirp the tires in a higher gear. Do you know what tread is for? To deflect water from under the tires, so the vehicle does not hydroplane.

Less tread = more traction. More of the tire will contact the pavement. Take a look at a set of slicks one of these days.

  • Not neccesarily, Slicks have special Tire compund that get sticky when you burn them up. Unlike a cheap street tire with cheap compound, with no tread, you probaly wont go anywhere in a GT in 1st, if you drop the clutch at 5000RPM =)(personal experience) and you would continuously chirp them since there's no tread. I go to the track spring-fall until the winter in Jersey, and seen many bone heads chirp there bald tires all the way up the 1/4mile lol. You should go to the track someday...

  • I'm aware of the characteristics of slicks. They also have wrinkle wall characteristics, that also helps to transfer momentum without tire slippage.

Jersey, you say? I lived there for almost 14 years. I assume you go to Atco, or Englishtown? Small world. Oh, I'll get out to a track one of these days! Lord knows that simple old me has never been around a strip!

  • Oh, come on. When I said I'd humor you, I didn't mean to just state down right stupid things.

    "doesn't mean I'm going anywhere".

What a fucking absolute TARD. Yes, because tires that are spinning are really working to accelerate the entire vehicle. Christ oh mighty. Go back to school, kiddo.

  • TPena92, just so your little dumbass can learn something, go check out one of my videos.

The video titled "5.9 12 Valve Cummins Huge Burnout"

In that video, the rear tires were spinning fast enough that the speedometer read 75 MPH, but hey, do you know what?! It wasn't moving!

Quit stating the obvious to make it seem like you know your shit.Go play with your Torqueless 4 banger. Shouldn't of gotten rid of the Mustang, that is if you ever had one. Nice cars.

  • 4cylinders could have plenty of torque. Hell, my 88 Merkur Xr4ti(you probaly don't know what that is) has 205hp and 220tq FORD SOHC 8v 2.3 turbo, stock. and would outrun a stock 5.0 and a shitty iroc. so much for 8cylinders from the 80's. Reason why there discontinued is because they put all of those cars to shame.the concept 87 mustang svo FORD 2.3 turbo DOHC 16v with 275 to the wheels and 310tq is what actually did it and theres only about 5 of them around in the States.haha .

  • I can guarantee that it wouldn't outrun my shitty Iroc, pal.

I have to ask, how does someone with an 80's little POS 4 banger try to talk shit on a Camaro? Come on kiddo, they're grocery getters. Shit, would be a better term.

With decent flowing heads, about 8.5:1 compression, my 350 would be capable of about 700 BHP on less than 15 PSI. 220 FT.-LBS. of Torque? Cute, lol.

4 bangers are cool to play around with. But, what do you do with toys? Play with them. V8's are making real power.

  • anyone could have 700 if you have the money lol my little 4banger could have 700 so..What done to your iroc? I'm sure my grocery getter can take it? come to englishtown in jerz we can line up, seriously though im not kidding. when the winter clears up. keep in touch

  • My Iroc has a 350 that was swapped out of a late Suburban. 200 HP and 300 FT.-LBS. of Torque, stock. Converted to a carb, Edelbrock 650, Edelbrock intake manifold, longtube headers, Accel ignition, Comp 270 cam.

My heads are what's limited me from making a nice 300 RWHP. 76 CC chambers, 1.72/1.50 valves, very restrictive. With a nice set of Dart heads, 64 CC chambers, 230 CC intake runners, I'd be flowing enough to make at least 350 BHP, a little over 300 RW.

  • Typo! Limiting*

  • a FORD 2.3 turbo engine is a very popular engine acutally, and your right a 305 is shit lol, 350 isnt that much faster, but has more potential at stock levels in the same year. You dont hear about Merkurs, because there only so many, very rare cars that came with the fordf 2.3 turbo like the 84-88thunderbird turbocoupe and 84-86svo. and other ford cars from the 80's. John Huber 79 mustang ford 2.3 turbo running 8's. project bolt on - 88 mustang notch running 9 with bolt on's ford 2.3turbo too lol.

  • there's also many toyota corolla's out there running 7's street legal with a 1.8L lol, what are you talking about? and honda's easily running 8's. all street legal by the way. wanna keep digging yourself deeper? keep testing me, like i said ill give you solid answers. good lucky on that ISUC(IROC) by the way

  • @kcole939 <=Co-sign. When my GT was stock with Cobra wheels, it still chirped in 3rd.

  • @imp4pdabest You must've had to go through a lot of comments to see that, and I imagine that "Co-sign" means you're agreeing.. That Tpena and 2vbrandon guy are just clueless, I think. Who would have thought that with 260 Horsepower, you cannot chirp third. Beats me.

  • @kcole939 <=Yeah, I'm basically doing research on 4.10 gears. But I've been told numerous times, don't go with them, they wast more gas. I have a 01 GT manual, I never spin the tires and dont drive fast. I may rev her up a lot, but I don't drive fast. She's only my weekend cruiser. So I've come to conclusion that 3.73's are the way to go. You got a stang?

  • @imp4pdabest Just a Camaro. I'm buying an '01-'04 GT this winter since most of them have come down into the 7,000 dollar range lately.

  • @kcole939 a good one still books 4 9k

  • @kcole939 I`ve read on umpteen occasions that the 260hp is a little `conservative`. I mean skyines are supposed to be 276,lol. No way, my friends 03 GT dyno`d stock at 232hp ..and I`ve read theyr more 280-285 stock than 260.

  • @cupcakeflake It really depends on the individual car, being that they're all used now, of course. Lower miles = less wear and tear on the cam lobes, less wear on the upper piston rings which prevent blow-by, keeping the compression up.

Hell, it can vary probably 25 RWHP or more depending on miles, and how the car was taken care of. Too many variables to tell. One could have a clogged fuel filter, dirty air filter, etc.

  • @kcole939 Thanks for answering a question i didn`t ask

  • @cupcakeflake You're welcome. There's no need to get snippy with me to pretend you're winning a Youtube argument. I'm just going into detail and backing your statement, not going against anything you say.

Kind of stupid to get a little bitchy attitude with someone when they're totally agreeing with you.

  • @cupcakeflake Oh, thank you for also answering a question I didn't ask. 1999-2004 Mustang GTs are rated at 260 horsepower. I stated that, I did not ask about it.

  • @kcole939 ok, no problem, by the way my dick is rated at 5 inches but i think its a bit more

  • @cupcakeflake lol , is your nickname PEEWEE

  • @cupcakeflake well, they are about 265-270 hp stock, but thats just the engine. the horse power to the wheels is more like 235-240 ish.

  • @cupcakeflake Motortrend dyno'd the 1999 4.6L at 218 HP at the wheels. No where near 285 fly-wheel HP buddy.

  • What does a lower gear mean, when the engine is trying to accelerate? Loss of traction.

When you replace them stock gears with let's say 4.10's, your vehicle may not reach the same speed until 1,500-2,000 RPM further up in the range. It's essentially lowering the friction in the drivetrain. The engine is trying to accelerate the vehicle less in a specific gear.

If you cannot understand this, it's hopeless. You're just like all the rest of the little kiddies. SIMPLE logic isn't so simple.

  • Comment removed

  • You are saying something different than anyone else worth there salt in the automotive industry and Im the one who is wrong? Okay yea youre the ONE person who proved all companies, sae techs.... etc etc wrong. Yea right!

Yup Ford Racing, Richmond, GM Performance, Motive, Strange, Mopar Performance, Superior, etc etc all sell gear kits to go steeper to slow everyone down.

  • Every video I watch kcole939 is always giving someone a pep talk. Cool out and do something with your life. You lost your argument against me couple of days ago by the way, lol. You're a musclehead that needs a pep talk of your own. When someone challenges your intelligence you stop commenting because your not as smart as you think. Ask me anything about engine or cars and i'll give you a solid answer not a confusing comments that you think makes your much smarter than anyone on youtube lol.

  • You CERTAINLY did not challenge my intelligence, TPena92, quite frankly, you're a moron.

You were explaining the basics of superchargers and turbochargers, in a literal sense, trying to toot your own horn, to make it seem as if you know something. When in reality, you could not even get basic spelling down pat.

You claim that superchargers are connected to the "crackshaft". What is a "crackshaft"? Is that something on an engine that I do not know about? I've heard of crankshafts, but damn.

  • lol, crankshaft pulley dummy is exactly what i said. The supercharger doesnt literally connect to the crankshaft. Only someone w/o common sense wouldn't understand what i'm talking about.

  • That's what you said, moron. You said that the supercharged is connected to the "crackshaft". "Crackshaft" is exactly what you said.

Wouldn't understand? What a cocky little kid. Do you even understand what forced induction even does?

Drop the bitchy little self righteous attitude. Honestly, I know a whole lot more than you. You're someone who is just not starting to understand the basics of engines. Stuff I learned oh, only a decade ago.

  • I had a lot of different types of cars. how about you?(4cylTurbo,V8,Vtec, I probaly been in it) I do this for a living.I'm a technician I love learning about all type of cars and getting my hands dirty. I just love the fact that a 4banger can beat a V8. I also love the feeling of a V8 all motor. Im not one-sided of anything like you are. I'm all about turbo's but i respect all cars and dont de-grade them from my negative opinions over youtube. your having fun with that non-turbo diesel?

  • What non-turbo Diesel, pal? The Dodge Ram D250 in my videos? That's my friend's 1989 D250 with a 5.9 Cummins TURBO Diesel. Cummins never offered an N/A 5.9 in any of the Ram series trucks.. Learn up on that a little.

You're all about turbos, and that's cool. I'm all about V8's WITH turbos. Who cares if I'm one sided, it's what a I like, boosted V8's.

I'm still laughing my ass off at the fact that you think the Dodge Ram in my videos is some non-turbo 5.9 Cummins. Better learn a lil' more.

  • Hey pal! Check out this other video of mine, of the 5.9 Cummins TURBO Diesel! It's just for the purpose of a cold start, and you can't see much, but when I hop inside, you can see the Cummins TURBO Diesel badge!

    watch?v=DZ4GfdvdzSw

What do I need to do? Take a picture of my friend's engine? All of the 5.9 Cummins' in the Ram trucks have turbos. Holy fuck man, that really put the icing on the cake. Non-turbo 5.9 Cummins "TURBO" Diesel. LOL!

  • I'm not interesting any having a childish little argument with you, but don't think for one second that you know more than someone, because you know where a supercharger goes!

That's pety bullshit. Big deal. Until you're out there playing with something else besides a little 4 banger that produces nearly 0 FT.-LBS. of Torque, then come talk to me.

  • Whoops, typo. I meant interested.

  • My 2.3 project is far from stock too...so good luck turbo'ing the iroc which will cost you probaly your yearly salary and the TURBO diesel with all that torque for nothing.

  • The Dodge in my videos is not mine. It is my friend's truck. I'll probably never own a Diesel, they aren't really my type of vehicle. I really like them, but cars are more my deal. Gasoline V8's to be specific.

I may never turbo my Iroc. Depends, once I buy a Mustang, I may get carried away with modding that.

Oh, my whole yearly salary, that's cute. Coming from someone who drives a $100 80's 4 banger. Hell, I'm poor, but nowhere near that level, of ..poverty. 80's 4 banger, lol.

  • quite frankly im not too familiar what engine a 89 dodge cum has and who cares? If anything im into the new cummings.Your into boosted V8's u still dont have one so it doesnt matter. like i said before dont be biased, especially about a 4banger, because you'll be surprised what ill do to your 350 with all torque and no hp. I Actaully have a car with more horsepower then yours stock with less than half the displacement around the same year. pretty sad. and faster forgot to mention that.

  • You're into little Vtec's and V8's, and you don't have one, so what's it matter? I have all the cash I need to start myself out with a cheaper twin turbo kit, but I'm not going to right now, why? I'm saving for something that I've always wanted. A nice lil' Satin silver 99-04 Mustang GT, preferably a mid '01-'04, so I get that nice TR-3650

  • I HAD a 94 del sol B16 motor that would give a stock iroc a run for it's money, and a 98 gt beater peace of shit. NOW i have myself a 08 honda accord to go 2 work, a ford f150 for buying shit for my house and my ford 2.3. thats all a grown ass man needs. check out my brothers video's. type in 88merkcruz and 89merkcruz, those are our cars. band of brothers. at least we can say we have a merkur and nobody knows what were talking about lol besides the typical stang or maro

  • You're talking about a stock 305 Iroc. They were absolute pieces of shit. I couldn't care less about 305 Irocs. If it's not swapped to at least a decent 350, it's shit, not deserving of the Camaro name.

I don't care about these Merkurs. If they were fast, I'd hear about them. Ask yourself though, what are some of the fastest street cars running around the U.S.? Boosted Camaros, Vettes, Mustangs, Vipers.

You don't hear of street legal 4 bangers that are running high 6's to low 8's.

  • @kcole939, i agree with everything you are saying, but the iroc's did come with a 350. 350 TPI. Still not the best engine in the world but its miles better than the POS 305 that goes in the z28 or the RS models.

  • I own one, I know what they came with. 1985 IROC's had no option for a 350, 1986 IROC's had 350's but they were on test models, and not offered to the public, and from 1987-1990, the L98 350 was offered, but they were sort of rare to come by. LB9 305 TPI's were an option from 1985 until 1990 when the IROC's were no longer produced, so, you'll see a lot of them.

The IROC it's self was really just a package that offered a suspension upgrade, much like the WS6 Firebirds.

  • gotcha...i thought they were only 350 L98's learned something new. My buddy had a L98 in his.

  • New Cummins, old Cummins, who the hell cares? The only difference between the 12 and 24V 5.9's are just that, the amount of valves. Way back in the 80's, they made 200 HP, they only made a little more than 100 HP more, almost two decades later. Literally almost nothing has changed.

The new 6.7's, I don't care about them.

All Torque and no HP? Do you even understand what you're talking about? Horsepower is calcualted from Torque, and Revolutions.

    HP = Torque X Engine RPM / 5,252.

  • Did you ever realize what budget drag racers did in the 50's, 60's, and early 70's? They'd burn street radials all the way down, to in a sense make their own homemade slicks. Saved cash.

'Your not as smart as you think.'

Good one, I'll humor you and your horrible spelling/choice of words, and continue to comment. Only to make you realize how much of a tard that you really are.

Come on kiddo, you explain the basics of forced induction to make yourself think that YOU'RE smart.

  • @Naste2vBrandon

With that logic, offroad wheelers in high gear must be incredibly fast.

  • just got my 4.10's on my 02 gt. Love them!!

Have you gone down the strip at all? Times?

  • been a few times..best time i got so far was a 8.8 1/8mile

  • auto 5.0 with 4.10
