Also the reason the iPhone 4 gets faster upload speeds is partially due to that it has HSUPA support while the 3GS doesn't as well as the antenna being better on the 4, giving faster speeds in general
Wow, you're in a really good AT&T area! You're lucky, I'm in a bad area for all carriers. AT&T covers the best here where I get between 1-4 bars at my house. T-Mobile doesn't even cover me with 3G and the other two carriers get 0-3 bars. But anyways, you're lucky to have a full coverage area at your house and not only when you go into town
I get 9mbs download and about 2.0mbs upload on my G2 on T-mobiles HSPA+ (4g) network. My roommate gets about 3.6mbs download and 1.2mbs upload on his iPhone 4. We both get full signal from both carriers.
this is amazing, my sucky inspire maybe gets to 3 - 31/2 !!! plus I am going through 1 gig of data every 5 days ...unreal switching it out for the Iphone 4 tomorrow!!!
Cool. On my 3GS I use to get 1500-2000 Kbps download and 30-100 Kbps upload. On the iPhone 4 I get 2000-4000 Kbps download and 1500-2500 Kbps upload. Real big improvement on the upload.
The test was taken in my home where I have very good reception (5 bars). It's not always at 5 mbs, but it is in areas where I get good reception. In areas with less reception, I can get anywhere from 1-3 mbps. The upload speed, however, stays pretty much steady at 1.6 mbps which is a LOT faster than my 3GS. I also live in a low congestion 3G area, so I have it pretty good on AT&T. I know there are some trouble spots in the bigger metro areas like New York and CA.
I have a 3g and am getting the 4 in a few weeks, that seems to fast for 3g, I think you bugged the screen or something that's wifi speeds. If it is 3g network and your getting 5mb dl's your in a great part of reception and it must be like 2am.
Nice ping.
