I remember when I first heard this through a dude I'd just become buddies with, he knew I was into Sabbath, and he takes this album out and puts it on...I knew in an instant it was Gillan's voice....liked it immediately....then that scream.....that almighty, banshee wail ..."...just laugh into my eye-uh-eye-uh-EYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEES!!!!!!" I had this sardonic 'Grinch-like' grin across my face the rest of that afternoon....sheer, utter WIN.
One of the best hard rocking albums of all time. Check it out. It's oustanding. Trashed not played on rock radio rotation makes no sense. I think probably since they say bitch every couple of seconds. Then again so does rap and they play plenty of that garbage.
Shame on you, that you praise Ozzy on a Gillan/Sabbath Era Song! Just need to look a bit more on Wikipedia before praising someone, who's not appearing ;)
Very underated. Not just for the music, but for the album cover and the story how it came about and the "Spinal Tap" moment with the Stonehenge stage set.
my friends mother took this record (yeah this was back in the 80s when they still had oily vinyl) and smashed it to hell and screamed at him and said "your gonna burn in hell". she died of an anyurism (did i spell that right?) a day later and he went on to become a multi-millionaire. funny how fate works.
great innebreation!!! im ready for a vodka drink now that i had 2 doughnuts and 4 cups of joe. why not im not working lets get drunk at 7 am playing trashed..fuck yeah why not? i got no where to go.got some shiner bocks too!!
This is the ONE song that i can look back on now and go..."wow,that changed fucking everything". GREAT post. I got this on a K-Tel comp record and was like "holy shit!!!" lol, thanks again!
It's about Gillan crashing in Bills car while Black Sabbath were holding a time-trial on a go-kart track. It's a real story! Ian Gillan tells that in the DVD "Ian Gillan - Highway Star - A journey In Rock".
saw this tour, seen ronnie james and ozzy too. iommi is sabbath, can't describe it. it's the sound. every guitarist knows. iommi just has it. i total'd a few cars back in the day. blasting this song takes me back. its good to be alive. all hail Satan.
Did you know originally Kevin the singer of REO speedwagon was going to sing on this record and the guy who sits down while he plays from the Doobie Brothers was going to replace Tony on guitar. I'm glad that never happened I don't think it would sound as good as it does.
love this song! seen these guys back in 83 at the meadowlands. this album has always been under rated for some reason. one of the best album covers ever.
@OzzyFan87 Okay I swear to God I just posted this on Facebook and said "For Ryan Dunn" before I read this comment, so to answer your question, f*ck no.

@reesescupsyummy123, it's metal mashing at its best, and Ian is a terrific stand-in singer for either Oz or Dio.
