@ponyboy9077 the rocks on the American side on the Horseshoe falls are the same rocks as the ones on the Canadian side..........just because there's a sudden deviding line in the falls, doesn't mean the rocks are any different.

@beanie819 This comment makes no sense. The Rainbow Falls (American side) have so much talus (fallen rock) at the bottom, the water just lands on rocks. Nobody is known to have survive that plunge. The Horseshoe Falls (from Goat Island, US, to Canada) mostly falls into water. Though nearly impossible, several people survived the plunge. Roger Woodward was 7 y.o. when he went over with a bathing suit and a life jacket, and survived; followed by Kirk R. Jones in 2003, and a man in March 2009.

If this man wanted to die, might he not have tried this stunt at night when people are less likely to rescue him? Sure it is suicide and the final outcome is death, but to someone who is depressed, even if he is pulled out of the water he would be left thinking that he will still die. Its now or later and the more people who react to him, the more important he is. I have been depressed and attempted suicide. Its all about control. You plan to be caught, before or after the act.
