  • I've been a huge ABBA fan since the mid 1980s but the first time I heard this song was in 1992 and for me it is my favourite track, an absolute masterpiece. I don't think any other artist could sing this the way Agnetha does.

  • nice :)

  • Я потрясён!!!

  • So cute in her Burgund medieval-inspired outfit. Beautiful operaesque supporting vocals; magnificent Bolero-inspired songwriting. The very end of a sequence of outstanding pop songs, so well crafted they may never be surpassed.

Of course noone can come close to the impact Elvis and Beatles had on the youth and the society of their respective times. But musically I think ABBA will earn even higher esteem. They may be the best band of the 20th Century.

Good work with the audio of this upload.

  • BEST SONGS !!!

  • loved it!

  • Luv ABBA forever

  • Without to do exactly what the song is saying it reflects exactly how my life has been

  • a magical performance of the best singers off all time ,thank you AGNETHA

  • I really love the song :)

  • A REALLY SO UNDERESTIMATED ABBA TRACK - SO BEAUTIFUL-SO SOPHISTICATED - SO POIGNANT!

  • Angnetha's Voice Totally Melts Me On This Beautiful Song, A Gift From God For Sure

  • what a great song and a fab vocal from Agnetha its so beautiful

  • Atleast she's not on Fourty a day ...... (1.20)

  • @Trundlebeth Whats amusing about this is that at the time all 4 members of ABBA smoked. During 1982/3 Agnetha was the face of the campaign for 'a non smoking generation'. To try and stop teens from taking up the habit. Not the best choice of role model at the time! lol :o)

  • @discogareth Haha - that's a classic! So she's telling it here 'as it is' rather than what she wanted it to be! Well - if she smoked her second at half past two - that puts her on about four a day ! She could argue I suppose she's 'weening herself off it'. But did the campaign work ?

  • @jezkn If you google 'Agnetha non smoking' there are photos of her in the campaign t-shirt and a great article where she says she gave up for 2 years and all it took was one ciggarette and she started again. I got it wrong it was 1980, not 1982. Also at 2.30pm, its her 7th. Not her 2nd. No weening here! lol

  • @discogareth Do you know - I've listened to that bit (1.20) countless times and i still can't tell whether she says 'seventh' or 'second' (it's that alluring Swedish accent!). But if its 'seventh' as you say -- then that puts her on 20 a day !! He (bloke with the newspaper) must have been a smoker too 'cause she must have wreaked of it !!

  • 2:58

  • Я её просто люблю! Анетта СУПЕР!

  • Какая же офигительная песня!Лучшая у АББА.

    Грустная!

  • Lucky germans :)

  • Keep alert, for magic is trying to seek you out...

  • One of the best from ABBA! This will live forever!

  • Fantastic performance by Agnetha- their songs were getting better & better-if only they'd stayed together for another couple of years I think even greater music would have been produced!

  • Agnetha looks disgusted from the start of the song. That smile is covering a really bad mood. She looks like she's really had it.

  • Can't get my eyes off Agnetha's. She had almost lived that sadness and melancholy through the whole song.

  • To Jest Bardzo Dobre To Sie Slucha

  • could listen to this song and agnetha voice all day

  • I love the audience reaction when rest of the ABBA appears on stage :D

  • this was ok when it was totally acceptable to lip sync like she doesnt even have a mic

  • sublime agnetha!!

    i love..

  • this and Cassandra are perfection

  • Eu gosto dessa música porque nela se tem uma harmônia divina, essa música faz a pessoa gostar dela pela letra e uma som envolvente que distraí até o pensamento!!

  • Chinese food at eight in the morning is rough on the stomach. They must be quite robust in Sweden.

  • @gibaudrac1 it wasn't in the morning, that part of the song is when she arrived to home, after her job :)

  • Where are these ABBA signs nowadays?

    ;D

  • I love Abba wish I coud see them .

  • I always thought how maddening it was to figure out how they wrote great lyrics that has stood the test of time, but OMG this song... This song just grabs hold and makes it so personal that it seems to draw me in, like it or not. I mean, she sang it so perfectly that I had the desperate urge to go out and get Chinese food...

  • I don't know why but I feel a lot of a anger from Agnetha, as much as she is a wee sweetie and a beautiful singer, you can see how the whole ABBA thing was taking it's toll. She is amazing, if she ever looks at this, Hello from Scotland Agnetha xx

  • No se porqué... pero me encanta esta presentación :D! LA AMO! Agnetha... tan elegante :D Tan sentimental.

  • Frida's best hair day of all time! Purple haze!

She must have taken her solo album photo shot very close to this date

  • Sad...

  • I have always thought that Frida never got the media attention for her stunning legs the way Aggie received all that attention for her butt, but maybe that is a good thing, as perhaps females do not really like that, it is better left unsaid and obvious......

  • @TheSpiritofAbbaPart3 ..............so you said it anyway? Curious post, I must say.

  • I just purely come across this song a few minutes ago by accident and i think I'm in love with Agnetha she's so drop dead gorgeous and has a beautiful singing voice to match,, my only regret is I didn't get to see this when it first aired and see her perform in person

  • How beautiful Agnetha looks & how wonderful she sounds!! I think I`m in love!!

  • @Teebirdster

everybody was in love with Agnetha

  • So this is the last song they ever recorded...so sad...

Is this their last TV appearance as ABBA?

  • What can I say? I love you Agnetha!

  • This is the best Abba song, I tell you!

  • did Agnetha just come from a medieval jousting tournament?

  • i love agnetha, and i like this song very much.hope to see her sing again.

  • Magnificent interpretation of Agnetha, Frida's look is SUPREME, one word only: SUPREME ABBA! WE LOVE THEM!

  • Gotto say great hey good one

    Cheers Aus

  • i saw it live in 1982 ... The emotion of ABBA was at the End. On high performance, but the audience nod understood it ... but in 1982/83 ABBA was really out of Energy. ABBA was not ABBA anymore ... The End must come. The time was OVER ! Good Bye ABBA ! May the younger ABBA Fans doing hard to understand this, but it was happen like that. It was quite sad to see ABBA near to the end. We just keep it back in good memory and our hearts forever.

  • @BeeAndBernie Thats very interesting that you say that I didn't know its too bad.

  • last abba performance for tv. the question is: how could they have stopped after that?!? with that song, the music was getting to another level (no refrain, simpler music lines, some electronic and the beautiful voice of agnetha on the front). She could have been one of the most famous divas of pop music if she wanted... but she didnt have the personnality to support that. Even with such a voice and charism. History could have been different

  • потрясающе волшебная композиция

  • Nice overall performance I like when the stage rotates to reveal the rest of the band. You can see by their reaction that they truly appreciate their fans...Agnetha pulls off simply looking into the camera to a tee!

  • One of my dirty little secrets in high school -- I knew every song on every album released in the U.S. by heart. Still do. Thanks for this.

  • this song made me crazy,,,,I heard again and again from yesterday still now

  • What on earth is that thing on her head??? Lol.

  • What a f***ing boring life she had the day before he came... oh but I'm sure, after he came everything changed from one day to the other, for ever and ever!

  • beautiful song

  • Frida was singing here for a missing Aggie. Ann Margaret was hired to play Frida and a lookalike of Bjorn was presented. Thus, this is not OUR Bjorn as presented here. Interpol was looking for missing Aggie and Bjorn. Benny and Frida was still alive. Interpol was searching.

  • She looks tired.

  • ABBA means a lot for me! Thank you Guys!

  • Thanks for posting. Nice stereo sound quality.

  • This is my favorite track by Abba. Hugely underrated and possibly their best if I was forced to choose.

  • They hat this enormes magnetic apeal around them.

  • Isn't she just so amazing, I can listen to her sining for ever ever and forever. She is so incredible. And beatiful As Everone Knows XD. Thanks Shay :)

  • Please kill me and let me die in her arms.

  • This is THE ONE!!!

  • This song makes me cry every time.

  • Love the HQ. This was a pro-Frida audience, listen about 1:14. I have chatted with people who were there, hello Claudia!

  • They don't look too happy.

  • MAY BE

  • me encanta este tema!!

  • Обалденная песня!Обалденная группа!

  • Thank you for posting such a wonderful song and video.......the best .....ABBA ROCKS 4 EVER.

  • It's really a perfect song. Gets better everytime I hear it.

  • Verdammtes saugut!

  • Agnetha we love you !!!!!!!!!!

  • at 4:10 sooo great!!!!!

  • Thanks for posting such a high quality video... I love it...

  • Leider gab es zu dem Zeitpunkt ABBA eigentlich schon garnicht mehr....

  • Definetly the last abba song

  • i love agnetha's joan-of-arc outfit.

  • I think ABBA were better than the beatles defo.....

  • saddest song for goodbye...how moving the song!

2B had no smile in the faces! (all others they had)

  • best abba song, sallys favourite by far!

  • Sally has great taste !!

  • @2Shaymcn Whos Sally?

  • @dazzifur

I bet you say that of all the ABBA songs

  • surerb!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • it is interesting to see- how exactly when they got into the 80s agnethas haristyle changes to a incredibly 80s hairstyle

  • I love this live version! It's funny because Agnetha does the hard part and has to lip synch while Frida just sits on the piano and does the backing vocals. They do look like they're enjoying it. It must've been real sad for them mostly Agnetha & Frida because its ending. Benny & Björn will work together to write Chess.

  • She does a great job on the lip sync ing here, not an easy job here

    Great crowd scenes here too

  • Bjorn must've almost fell over at 1:39 as he suddenly grabs onto the piano.

  • That moving platform grinds to a halt Bjorn hold on for dear life and love the cool huge logo too

  • You have some great videos btw. I love the sound they have for some reason.

  • @2Shaymcn Wounder where the logo is now? hehe

  • I love this song... i actually like Abba songs that were released in the late period of their career much more than all those "mammamiadancingqueen" which can be often heard on radio or at discos. Thanks for posting.

  • Thanks to all for your contrubutions

  • This was one of the first regular stereo TV shows in Germany. ZDF began broadcasting in stereo in August 1981. So even the original version is in stereo.

  • Luckily they introduced stereo, this still sounds amazing, and a unique version with the 'cold' ending

Those rockpalast shows from Germany always sounded fantstic

    Danke

  • This is what Agnetha and Bjorn meant to each other, regardless of the time frame. These are the most beautiful lyrics of all of ABBAs songs.

Thank you, Shay, for putting this up. It took a bit of work, but I recorded it. I have never seen this on an album. And I have quite a few. Thank you with the best thanks I can give over a machine.

    JF

  • Glad you got it down J. , I love this performance version a lot too

  • her voice was made for such downcast songs

  • i love abba .. it´s a dream of music and perfection

  • I love this song.

Belated Happy 59th Birthday to the lovely Agnetha.

  • She is Queen Agnetha Ase Faltskog. Absolutely Queen of pop music. Nobody can sing like this fantastic women - everytime.

  • Agnetha , truly , I love"you

  • me too: that's my favorite ABBA song 4ever :]

  • love abba, and my favorite abba song, quite dark and realistic

  • I remember this classic but I forgot the year it came out do you remember the year?

  • Agnetha is amazing as ever.

  • Shay, I am going completely mad trying to figure out this new 16:9 format and how to convert my vids so that the picture isn't smooshed. Obviously, you're using something that allows you to use a zoom-in feature so that you can maintain video quality. I've downloaded another converter that I thought would help, and it probably does on video you shoot yourself on a camera set on widescreen, but it doesn't help on video converted from DVD. HELP!!!

  • Any luck Sharon,? Ill have a look for some info and send it over, You will have to zoom a bit or chop some off the top and bottom of the regular vid

  • I'm getting really good results with uploading in H264 .avi codec compression. I was experimenting with that tonight. But I need a program that is Windows compatible that does what MPEG Streamclip does, zooming and cropping. That program is optimized for use with Quicktime.

  • This song is very sad because it was the beginning of the end of my favourite band...!

  • thanks Shay!!!! gosh u r great;) Love this song, everytime I listen to it I have to repeat it a couple times b4 move on...don't u just want to hugh Agnetha, she is so adorable and she gives this song something special. Love to see them, 2gether, hope they still were;)

  • Agnetha really gets under the skin of a song Salo! She looks great here as does Frida, and with the widescreen you get a bit closer too!

  • Thanks, no one can do a sad song like Agnetha

  • Thanks M, I do try and do the best I can with them

  • I must say, "The day before you came" and "Under attack" were very sad songs for me because they marked the end of the Abba dynasty.

Sadly, many of us didn't know what we had when we had it.

  • Yeah, Im afraid Im guilty too, People took them for granted or ignored them, Maybe if the rock community had shown a bit more respect an encoragment they might have carried on longer

  • Thank you Shay for this gorgeous song and video! Stars and nothing but a Fav!

  • Its a special one Laura, thanks for the kind words

  • Heavy atmosphere is this clip ... The end of ABBA is imminent , everybodys knows that (ABBA and audience) and has emotion .

    Beautifull HQ video Shay

  • Yeah you can see the sadness through the smiles Isabelle, They said they could feel the energy draining away

  • very good shay

  • Thanks miriam

  • Great job!

    Like always :)

  • Thanks M For watching!

  • Really looks great in HD & widescreen! I think AGGY looks so nice in red & the head band! Sort of a sad song, but sung so beautifully by Agnetha. Nice upload, thanks Shay!

    -Dallas

  • Recorded this from TV straight to DVD last year Dallas, so it very good quality. Its a song that gets better with age

  • Looks great in widescreen, Shay. That's a whole lot of Agnetha on the screen! I love the headband and the outfit, and how she sings this song. It's different for them, but it has definitely grown on me.

  • Up close and personal Mike, what do you see when you look in those eyes

they could reinvent themselves many times as only the very few groups can

  • I like the part where the stage spins around and reveals the rest of the group. Sad song...you know the end is near and you can't do anything to stop it. Thanks for the post Shay.

  • Thanks Jim, Its a very well put together TV performance, a cool design, but you can feel the sadness in the air

  • Ill have to warn you there is no cure once you fall... hehe

  • Thanks Jim, wide screen all the way, Yeah you feel more involved in the performance with it

  • Fantastic in widescreen, and so very well done!! You are truly mastering this feature, Shay, and if any group just clamors to be viewed in widescreen format, it is ABBA. Thanks for doing this!

  • Thanks N, Im getting the hang of it, You need a good quality video to begin with, or the faults will show up

  • Agnetha's lip bite... in widescreen... It doesn't get any better than this. One of my Top 3 all-time fave ABBA songs, right here. You go, Shay!!!

  • Glad to bring it to you 'up close and personal' Sharon, It comes out near the top of my list too!

  • very nice performance here! great seeing it in widescreen Shay, I like this song a lot. very sad this was the final recording though, thanks for the info.

  • Thanks Elin,so sad it had to end, and I really liked their final recordings too

thanks to Wiki for the info

  • To me this is THE ABBA song. And this is THE TV performance !! Thanks for posting.

  • Cheerf F.,

Great live feel of the audiance, a great set and of course a wonderful song performed magnificently

  • 2Shaymcn I Love You like Agnetha!!! =)

    Thanks for Posst this!

  • Thanks Sina, very kind of you to say so, glad to upload quality sounds!

  • Youre welcome!

  • I love this song and the class with that Agnetha singing it in this performance, thanks for this other great post Shay!

  • It very well put togrther performancs Claudio,Thanks

  • Love this song and the original video as well.

I am sure the original video was heavily influenced (ironically) by the Meryl Streep film 'Falling in Love' (or vice versa) there is an uncanny similarity between scenes in both Another great post Shay and no, dont have a version of this about to post lol!!

And realmclennyd really sums things up perfectly

  • Was de Niro in that ,Bill, I remember, Hadn't made the connection, strangers meeting on a train

  • Thats the one-released in 1984 which suggests they got the idea from the Abba video! Great film-love to watch it over and over!

  • abba is my favorite group on the planet they were the ones who sings such beautiful clasic as dancing queen and the winner takes it all .

when they broke up the music industry hasn't been the same since I really missed those days thank god there are channel like yours to bring back memories merry christmas and a happy new year

  • Seasons greetings to you too, glad to remind people of the legend that was ABBA!
