I despise YouTube and the way it has lowered viewers' patience levels and film standards. Occasionally, I post comments on videos/other people's comments when I see a disproportionate amount of undue praise/criticism.
I only post comments on YouTube because it pains me to see what the world has become. I might be a little hypocritical for using YouTube to attack YouTube, but this is the place that everybody wastes their time on. I'm trying to knock some sense into people.
He's overrated. Plan and simple. If he had lived to be 78, there wouldn't be a fraction of the fuss he currently receives.
He strained to be The Joker (gratuitous slurps and coughs, etc.) and the only reason why most audiences and critics took notice was because there are so few good performances these days in general. If The Dark Knight had come out twenty years ago, it would not have been greeted with such overwhelming praise, nor would Ledger's performance.

i love you heath ive had the biggest crush on him b4 the joker thing but holy crap did he do i good job on that. its so weird 2 see his real self all inisant and ADORABLE and then see him transform into the joker PURE SKILL he was gifted an extrordinary actor and that movie could have gotten his career 2 a much higher level but...... I LOVE U HEATH i always will.....!!

I have to say the only reason anyone gives a shit about him was because of the fuckin batman movie.
before if he woulda died, nobody would have cared nearly as much, nor would any of you. Its sad that when everyone heard he died, all people thought was, did they finish the fuckin movie!!!!! Asswholes
That character in The Dark Knight was fucking good and in the Brokeback Mountain...he should have won Oscar for it.Otherwise you are right, nobody cares, he was an actor, how stupid he couldn't manage his life, his problems. This is the life, live or death.Anyway I like his work, he transformed very well for the Joker and he could play very different roles. R. I. P.
The role is more important then the actor playing it....i really dont care for his other movies at all, but he totally brought it for the joker and did it awsome, when i watch that movie i dont see heath ledger...i see the joker, thats it....hence why they need to recast and let someone pick up what he started, not with disrespect but for an awsome movie....and i was for sure one of those people who asked "Did they finish the movie"
he was a fucking pill head who just took too much more than what he thought he could handle,he was doing pills long before the joker role was ever on the table,he just became another statistic! as great of a genius actor he was,he was still not immune to the addiction that takes thousands of lives everyday! im not trying so soil his image,im not trying to be insulting to the boy, but thats just the way it is! i enjoyed his work as much as the next person, except the buttfucker movie! R.I.P Heath!
He was losing sleep, cause he took pills to keep him awake while he practiced playing the Joker alone in an apartment room. Basically, he overdosed, and died after the filming was done.
jim carrey played the last riddler, kinda freaked me out, and two-face was in that one 2 right? if they do a remake it would be awesome. i cant remember if that was the same movie or not
Heath was "fidgeting" because he was on oxycontin and hydrocondone, frome experience this is how one acts when one pills very inpatient, you scratch like all, you itch like there's no tommorw, and by ALL REPORTS HEATH HAD BEEN ON OXY'S AND zanex months if not years before shooting this interview
First of all, there are zero reports that say Heath had been on these meds "months if not years" before shooting this interview. Second, he ALWAYS fidgeted in interviews. Third, you're only seeing one tiny snippet of an interview session that took hours. Fourth, he just got the tattoo on his upper right arm, and fifth, unless you are privy to his medical history, you are in no position to make assumptions about it.
his medical history was made public he was on six count them SIX different forms of narcotics that had been prescribed to him for months before his death, second he scratches on both of his arms not just the one on his tattooed arm, even if you don't think he's on pills in the interview, he sure as hell was in real life, he had doctors from europe, canada, and the usa all prescribing him dangerous narcotics that should not be mixed, end of story, end of heath
Toxicology reports don't lie, and prescription bottles dont' either, his toxicology report was made public, in his system were two pain opiates that make you itch, one oxycontin, two vicicodin, he was also on zanex, valium, and three sleeping prescriptions, that's way too much shit to have in your system, THERE ALL DOWNERSs, you go to sleep and your heart slows to a pace whre it eventually just gives out under the tremedous effect of having six downers all shuting down your central nervous system
I understand that he was on six different pills, but my issue with what you said was that you said he was on all these meds for "months, if not years." That was never stated anywhere. Also, just because he scratches his arms in one small part of this interview session, which like I said was part of a set that took hours, doesn't mean he was scratching because of oxycontin.
From inside sources close to heath he had been using for a couple of years, after the break up with michelle his using according to his core inside group got out of control, he had narcotic prescriptions from 3 different countries, you don't get prescriptions out of nowhere, you have to have some track record, heath allegdly had a track record of manipulating doctors, and no maybe he wasn't on oxy's in this interview, but his toxicology report doesn't lie he had been on them, .
did anyone else notice but the poster or the scene in the dark knight with joker in the sell when he is smiling, when you see al of him sat their notice his shoes are on the wrong feet. how cool is that? i was looking at my poster of him and i just noticed it :O every detail it is incredible!
for any aussie out there, does he sounds australian to you guys! coz i think hes accent is unspecified more englishy with hints of american then aussie! or is that how they speak in perth???
well i recon he is probably so used to being in America ect. plus he would have just finished the Dark Knight, where he had to use an American accent, so i guess he has probably lost most of it over time.
because if you look back at say, 10 things i hate about you, its really strong. and i live in Australia, and to hear him in that movie, i was like, do we actually sound like that?
He was always figety in interviews. If you watch any of his previous interviews in the past, sometimes he is more restless than this. He always said he get's so nervous during them. But like, Heath just sounded like a really great person to talk to, his depth into his interview.
I wish Heath never died, it sucks so fucking much. I would understand if he got terminally ill or something. But a tragic death like his could of been avoided... And if it was, who knows what masterpieces he would of done in his future films.
He's seems to still be in character for the joker in this interview. He's doing the nervous twitching and licking the scars! It's amazing how comitted great actors can be to their characters. RIP Heath. You're greatly missed.
most actors like johnny depp, don't like the spot light and just love doing the work but not comes with it.
He was an amazing actor, and his work will be contiunally watched and enjoyed for years to come and i hope that one day matilda, his daughter will be able to watch these interviews and see how great he was.
yeah, he does look more nervous on this video thenhe does on the others, i think it's because he was heavily on drugs before he died, such a shame, he was such a lovely manx
hes dead ur ment to show respect, i bet ur some punny little piece of shit, so why dont you go grow some hair on ur chest, pull ur head in, and i hope you get thrush u little piece fo shit, fuck you
Today, 1/22/2012, marks his 4 year death anniversary. I miss you, you mastermind.

iltatuuli25 2 years ago

He's dead, that's where he is.
in5secs 2 years ago
He was losing sleep, cause he took pills to keep him awake while he practiced playing the Joker alone in an apartment room. Basically, he overdosed, and died after the filming was done.
lukegreen3 3 years ago
He locked himself in a bare hotel room with a few Joker comics and a journal (which I would love to read) to practice playing Joker.
The Anti-Depressants mixed badly with the pain killers and sleep meds, and that's what killed him.
lukegreen3 3 years ago
Wherever did you hear this?

can anybody tell me plain and simple why he died? he was awesome as the joker and i got pissed when i heard he died before they finished the movie.

I still think Heath is the best Joker ever made, but if they ever HAVE to bring the Joker back, do you think they'll use his mentor Mel Gibson?

ummm...no.
Samprasisthebest 3 years ago 2
Johnny Depp maybe.. or how about Robert Downey Jr. He could do it like a combo of Nicholson, Ledger, and Cesar Romero
bodiza420 3 years ago
Specualtions about Depp playing one of the upcoming villains. The Riddler I believe. If all is true, I believe it shall be good.
jerrperez 3 years ago 2
jim carrey played the last riddler, kinda freaked me out, and two-face was in that one 2 right? if they do a remake it would be awesome. i cant remember if that was the same movie or not
Wolphdude 3 years ago

Heath was "fidgeting" because he was on oxycontin and hydrocondone, frome experience this is how one acts when one pills very inpatient, you scratch like all, you itch like there's no tommorw, and by ALL REPORTS HEATH HAD BEEN ON OXY'S AND zanex months if not years before shooting this interview
juicyjim69 3 years ago
First of all, there are zero reports that say Heath had been on these meds "months if not years" before shooting this interview. Second, he ALWAYS fidgeted in interviews. Third, you're only seeing one tiny snippet of an interview session that took hours. Fourth, he just got the tattoo on his upper right arm, and fifth, unless you are privy to his medical history, you are in no position to make assumptions about it.
lexahb 3 years ago
his medical history was made public he was on six count them SIX different forms of narcotics that had been prescribed to him for months before his death, second he scratches on both of his arms not just the one on his tattooed arm, even if you don't think he's on pills in the interview, he sure as hell was in real life, he had doctors from europe, canada, and the usa all prescribing him dangerous narcotics that should not be mixed, end of story, end of heath
juicyjim69 3 years ago
Toxicology reports don't lie, and prescription bottles dont' either, his toxicology report was made public, in his system were two pain opiates that make you itch, one oxycontin, two vicicodin, he was also on zanex, valium, and three sleeping prescriptions, that's way too much shit to have in your system, THERE ALL DOWNERSs, you go to sleep and your heart slows to a pace whre it eventually just gives out under the tremedous effect of having six downers all shuting down your central nervous system
juicyjim69 3 years ago
I understand that he was on six different pills, but my issue with what you said was that you said he was on all these meds for "months, if not years." That was never stated anywhere. Also, just because he scratches his arms in one small part of this interview session, which like I said was part of a set that took hours, doesn't mean he was scratching because of oxycontin.
lexahb 3 years ago
From inside sources close to heath he had been using for a couple of years, after the break up with michelle his using according to his core inside group got out of control, he had narcotic prescriptions from 3 different countries, you don't get prescriptions out of nowhere, you have to have some track record, heath allegdly had a track record of manipulating doctors, and no maybe he wasn't on oxy's in this interview, but his toxicology report doesn't lie he had been on them, .
juicyjim69 3 years ago
What a sweet, sweet man. His shyness and his fidgeting just made him him more endearing. He was absolutely mindblowing as The Joker.
RIP, sweetheart.

for any aussie out there, does he sounds australian to you guys! coz i think hes accent is unspecified more englishy with hints of american then aussie! or is that how they speak in perth???
JazzSpirit 3 years ago
im aussie and hes got an american touch
dragonjess94 3 years ago
YEah mate im aussie i go to his high school gilford in W.A his accent changed because
he was always around posh hollywood people kinda hard to speak aussie when you spend years around them.
dalejjxen 3 years ago
hahaha lol
well i recon he is probably so used to being in America ect. plus he would have just finished the Dark Knight, where he had to use an American accent, so i guess he has probably lost most of it over time.
because if you look back at say, 10 things i hate about you, its really strong. and i live in Australia, and to hear him in that movie, i was like, do we actually sound like that?
hahaha lol but yea.

He was always figety in interviews. If you watch any of his previous interviews in the past, sometimes he is more restless than this. He always said he get's so nervous during them. But like, Heath just sounded like a really great person to talk to, his depth into his interview.
RIP Heath
Much respect & love.

I wish Heath never died, it sucks so fucking much. I would understand if he got terminally ill or something. But a tragic death like his could of been avoided... And if it was, who knows what masterpieces he would of done in his future films.

if u look at all of the other interview, he doesnt seem somewhat comfortable so i dont think the reason he was uncomfortable was drugs.
i thinks hes like johnny depp, doesnt like publicity.
BangOnZeeDoor 3 years ago 2
i agree
most actors like johnny depp, don't like the spot light and just love doing the work but not comes with it.
He was an amazing actor, and his work will be contiunally watched and enjoyed for years to come and i hope that one day matilda, his daughter will be able to watch these interviews and see how great he was.
