Q: Menu text has weird "IDS_" text.

A: You didn't install the CHT language pack or you installed some mod that changed the language files (like "no calendar text" mod). Reinstall the CHT language pack to get normal text back.

Am amazed, ive just bought an hd2 and had no idea all of this could be done... im a complete noob to the hd2, but ive had the phone for one week and have managed to get Omarket so step by step il learn it inside out soon enought... dont think ill be installing any of cookies mods untill i understand the device better. if anyone has some good advice id like to hear it. one question tho... Why do all the pictures i view on facebook end up on my device ??? :S

I've been using this for a couple weeks now. I use 2 home levels with level 0 having analog clock (no second hand) and text date tab. Level 1 is 3 pages of 4x4 quick links without labels or boxes. I have found this to be the optimal setup. It absolutely flies at this setting. Co0kie's Home Tab Editor Rocks! It blows SPB Mobile Shell out of the water with function, and because it's free!

Have you installed CHT Editor? if so go to - Miscellaneous settings and change the animation level from 'Optimized' to 'simple' (simple animation for slower devices) that may help?

dude i wish you had tested the new cookies on the hd2, so that viewers can see the difference in speed! from what i understand, the cookies 1.8.0 has fixed the slow graphics when switching between differnet pages on the home screen. because the old cookies 1.7.0 is freaking slow when switching between screens on the home page on a hd2, i mean its not real slow, but it's not like the orginal htc home screen speed.

From what I understand version 1.8 is only compatible with WM 6.5 and above. It interfaces with the 6.5 lockscreen to make everything work correctly. Maybe just the lockscreen doesnt work on previous versions, but thats not the impression I got reading the thread on xda-developers

SInce I started to pimp up my HD2 the CHT is the most userfriendly mod I ever install. Its my iPhone inside a menue. ;) If only some apps could work on winmo such quickly and handsome like there. But I prefer a machine which is able to change many things instead a properly working but closed and keep you in leeding strings...

@turreu CHT is designed for HD2, and 1 ghz snapdragon CPU. CJ is running CHT on touch pro 2, which is 528mhz. But with smaller amount of widgets i can run it smoothly, using 528mhz diamond2

@Smallie7 Use a HSPL (Hard SPL - unlocker) to unlock ur phone & then Re-ROM it. ENERGY is my favorite "Chef" cookin ROM's that puts CHT in his. He just released a new line today with this in it plus a ton of his special tweaks. Check him out over at PPCGeeks.com & u can find more info on all at XDA Developers. I Re-ROM like every week as the new stuff comes out & CHT is awesome.

even tho winmo 6.5 is a dying platform every current OS out there iphone android webOS blackberryOS could only wish to have the extra functionality that devs give to winmo 6.5 as shown here. this really makes winmo 6.5 so useful and makes the other platforms in some aspects look behind especially with this sense upgrade. makes me wish i could dual boot android and winmo 6.5 so i could use this on my N1. hopefully this kind of development will be possible for android in the future.

@hotty198 no OS is perfect for sure and the usability on winmo is kind of outdated still the best hackin you can have with android is new ROMs with small little tweaks like different colored notification bar or # of home screens maybe small speed boosts etc this takes a great home alternative from htc and makes it somehow vastly superior in form and function on JUST THE HOMESCREEN over anyother OS as of now i hope as android matures more indepth and feature adding hacks can be made on it as well

@pobably911 there is more you can do with android that is rooted than you think. im new to it but just off the top of my head. free wireless tethering(mobile hotspot), applications to sd card, delete bloatware from sprint/verizon. I could care less about changing the color of flashing lights.

@hotty198 well yes i know about that stuff but i have an N1 so it has no bloatware and i flashed froyo on there which gives me the wireless tethering hot spot, and apps2sd pretty much automatically. im not knockin android or anything i love it to death im just saying i hope in the future this kind of modding can be done to the android UI by hackers or modders as some may rather be called
